Bite Your Tongue (Lilith)

Chase sat under a tree, needle and thread in hand. A wound on her leg from running from mal was in grave need of repair. She no longer went to healers she merely took care of herself. A bottle of pills in her bag for pain she took the bandage off and began to sew her flesh closed.

Lilith was in a hurry for dinner, when she saw her cousin, looking terrible. Her eyes widened as she imidiately went to her. "Chase!" she shouted. "Oh, Salazar, who did this to you?" she asked, shocked by the stage Chase was in. "You need to go to hospital wing and tell headmaster who did this to you," she said.

Chase managed a smile for Lilith, one that she saved just for her sweet little cousin. Grabbing her arm she pulled the girl down to sit with her kissing her hair. "I'm fine Lil stop worrying so much" all summer she came home broken bruised and mangled she met lilith when she had two hands, then one day came home with one. But every time she smiled for her and told her she was fine. "How do you like it here"

"Much less seeing you this way," Lilith replied. "You cannot fool me anymore, Chase. I am not blind, nor stupid. I wanted to pretend everything is fine during summer, because I hoped it is just something small and you will get out of the mess. But I cannot pretend nothing is going on now," she told her cousin honestly, serious concern in her eyes.

"Little Lil, i'm clumsy and reckless thats all" she chided her. "I've been trying to train so i can join the quid ditch team that is all" she said.

Lilith grabbed Chase's wrist, seeing clear bruise in shape of another wrist around it and looked at her cousin's face once again. "And this is from what? Broomstick wanted to dance, suddenly grew hands and you were clumsy?" she asked, not harsh, but firm, not wanting to give Chase chance to walk out of this again.

Her teeth grit hard and she looked at her "if i told you who did this then you would be in danger as well"

"Chase, trust me, I am not really safe myself alredy as well," Lilith said sadly. "I have my enemies as well. Is that person from my house?" she asked, trying to get at least a small hint or clue where to look.

"No. he's from yours" she looked down at her leg focusing on sewing it though her metal hand proved to be a obstacle.

"Okay, Slytherin jerk. Is he older than you?" Lilith kept asking, at least now they were getting somewhere. "How much did he hurt you, Chase?" she asked for honesty.

"Remember how I said i didnt know the guy who cut my hand off" she said her voice distant.

"Yes," Lilith replied imidiately, clearly remembering the day.

"Well..i knew him...everyone knows him...grandma loves him.." she said softly closing her eyes. "I cant tell anyone who did this to me...i dont want him to hurt my parents or ricky.."

"Your parents are vampires. And Ricky is werewolf," Lilith said. "Is it Gaunt? The one hurting you?" she asked, coming up with the first name that hit her mind. Who else but Gaunts and Grimms had so much power around?

She remained silent looking at her hand she didnt have the power in her to respond.

"Oh Chase," Lilith hugged her cousin tight knowing it was probably the only thing she could actually do. Her cousin was right. There was not much to do against Gaunt.

She shrugged her arms off and went back to sewing her leg shut "If you breathe a word of it to anyone i'll never forgive you" she said "Only other person who knows is ricky...but..i dont have him anymore.."

"I..." Lilith couldn't say more. Of course she won't say a word. But not because she would want to be silent. It was now she realized that her dating Ricky can hurt Chase even more. And she didn't know how to tell her.

"My best friend slept with him you know" she said "after i told her I'm in love with ricky ember slept with him..." she pulled her legs up leaning her forhead on her knees. "he slept with me too though...he..he said some horrible things to me...i've never felt so broken in my life" turning her head she looked at Lilith tucking some of her hair behind her ear "i'll try to make sure no one does that to you little lil i love you to much to see you hurt"

Lilith felt on her knees, feeling terrible. Not only Ricky hurt Chase as well, Lilith herself was now dating him. While Kain basicaly raped her. They were both in deep shit. And Lilith knew what she was about to say will broke them both even more. "I am dating him... Ricky... I... we never slept together... it just... Chase... I... I am sorry," she whispered, crying now.

Chase' heart shattered those words echoed through her mind..she looked at her sweet little cousin she loved so much and she felt utter betrayal as her words failed to come to her lips.

"Chase," Lilith whispered again, knowing that she just most likely lost her cousin. They were two broken girls, sitting there in grass. But Lilith couldn't tell Chase about her burdens. She was meant to help. Instead, she made things only worse.

Chase looked away tears in her eyes "does he..make you happy.."

Lilith couldn't say it out loud, so she only nodded once. Small nod with her head, ashamed of herself. Yet she refused to lie to Chase and risk her lies will be revealed later, knowing it would make alredy terrible things only worse.

She pulled the scared little girl into her arms, her heart hollow but she hid it well holding her she kissed the top of her head. "I'm happy for you.." she whispered
