Too Different (Malphas) (PG-13)

Romulus walked down to the dungeons after seeing Lara to her common room. His heart was light but he still worried how there new found love would be taken. Entering the empty common room his heart sank, if Mal wasn't in the common room then he was in there dorm and he wasn't ready to face his best friend. Knowing full well he probably either already knew of he and Lara thanks to his ears around the school or he'll be able to tell he is hiding something he silently cursed himself.

For the first time he feared his best friend as he walked up the stairs to the boys wing, he felt it in his veins the cold trepidation that filled his mind. Pushing open the door he walked into the dorm and threw his bag on his bed "you got in late last night" he chuckled trying to act normal as he spotted him "Emrys keeping you up all night?"

Seeing Romulus entered the dorm room, he was glad Atticus and Magnus hadn't arrived yet, that way they'd be able to talk. And by talk, it probably meant Malphas would torture him until he decided to let his little mudblood girlfriend go. "It seems we both have women keeping us up all night," he said sternly. Getting up from his bed he walked to his best friend, looking into his eyes, "I know about the filth you're dating," he growled into his ear.

Rom swallowed hard he was a few inches taller then Malphas but he knew that meant nothing, the other kid could destroy him if he pissed him off enough. "Lara isn't filth" he said his voice surprisngly strong "she's an amazing girl"

His fists clenched and he pushed his friend against the wall, growling as he did, "SHE IS A MUDBLOOD!" he shouted at him anger vibrating from his tone.

"SO WHAT!" he shouted back shoving his brother "She's gotta better grades then your dumb ass she puts most purebloods to shame, why does her blood matter?"

Inhaling deeply, he pounced on the boy, chocking him with his two hands, "SPEAK TO ME THAT WAY AGAIN AND I WILL RIP YOUR EYES OUT AND FEED THEM TO THE DISGUSTING MUDBLOOD YOU CALL YOUR GIRLFRIEND!" he warned him, through gritted teeth.

Bringing his legs up beneath him he kicked Mal off him and rolled to his feet, "Don't fucking touch me bro" he growled "And don't call Lara a mudblood you need to get over yourself, nothing is wrong with having muggle parents"

Spearing him to the floor his fist connected with Romulus' nose, sending his head back, making it hit the floor, "Do you want me to kill her? I will fucking do it with a smile on my face. Mudbloods are the reason most of my friends don't have parents!" he snarled at him, his voice filled with wrath.

Blood poured from his nose as he looked up at Malphas his eyes darkening with rage, "YOU WONT FUCKING TOUCH HER" throwing mal over his head he got to his feet "I'll kill you before you can lay a fucking had on her"

Diving to the ground, he rolled, and kicked Romulus' left shin. "I'd like to see you try," he growled up at him before he pounced back to his feet, back flipping aiming to kick him in the chin, "From all the girls you had to chose the tainted one!"

His shin stung but he ducked as his leg came up to hit his chin, grabbing the other boys leg he slammed him into the floor head first. "She's not tainted Mal" he shouted he stayed defensive truly not wishing to fight Mal. "Why cant you just be happy for me?"

Shaking his head he quickly shrugged off the momentarily dizziness, and pounced back to his feet, "Don't make me hurt you. Just understand she's not for you. She doesn't deserve you. Look at your father. He at least picked a pure blood," he used Remus' example as a way to get to Romulus.

"yeah and my grandmother was a muggle" he sneered "she's accepts me, you try to turn me into you"

"What's wrong with being me? Most of the students are my pets, the professors love me, girls fall to their knees just by seeing me, I have a sexy pureblood blonde by my side, heck, those whom I dislike end up in St. Mungus. Your point is invalid," he told him sternly, "I'm sorry if I want you to have the amazing life I have," he growled at him.

"My life is just fine, i think i'm falling in love with her and its amazing" he said his exhaustion showed clearly on his face.

"No. It's not. If another war comes about the first thing that'll happen to her is torture. Then death. Understand that. And if you think no war will ever come again you're a fool Romulus," he warned him his anger diminishing somewhat.

"Your being a fool" he scowled "just because your mother led the last war doesn't mean there will be another, I'll protect Lara from everyone even you"

"You won't be able to. Trust me. If I want her dead, she will die," he told him his voice now emotionless.

"Mal what has gotten into you...."

"You don't understand once another war is here you'll be punished as well your whole family will, you'll be labeled blood traitors and I'll lose my best friend, can't you once do what I tell you and leave the mud-...girl?" he asked him shaking his head inhaling deeply.

his jaw tightened "malphas people will only turn on me if you tell them too" he walked up to him looking at him imploringly "if emrys was a mudblood could you rbing yourself to leave her?'

"Yes," he told him coldly.

'please dont make me leave her...' he pleaded 'please dont hurt her..'

"Leave her, or I'll hurt her. Pick one," he answered crossing his arms over his chest.
