Charms: Lesson 1 (1993)

The start of the new year was bittersweet for Briana. This would be the first year in a long time that she was without Vixen to plan and teach dual-lessons with. But, she was no longer suffering, and that was what mattered. With a wave of her wand, the final section of stone wall rose from the floor and settled into place next to the rest of the wall she already constructed. Nodding in approval of her work, Briana walked back to the front of the room and sat on top of her desk. With a wave of her hands, the classroom doors unlocked to allow her students to enter.

Upon entering the classroom, students will find two 6' high walls lining the center of the room, forming a path between them. The front row of tables on both sides of the room have been put away, leaving just the back row, on either side. The chairs have been removed and the tables pushed back to allow for everyone to stand without being crammed...

William held the door for Luna, Rowan, and his brother, Atticus, before following them all into the Charms classroom. Smiling and tipping his head to Professor Yaxley, much like the others had done, he stood in between Rowan and Atticus, wondering just what in the world they were going to do with two walls in the middle of the classroom. The others seemed to be just as confused as no one seemed to have any answers, but each had slightly puzzled looks. He gave a small sigh as he realized that Professor Yaxley was likely having similar bittersweet feelings as he was as his mother was a good friend and fellow professor to her, planning and teaching lessons together and everything...

Serena followed Harry and Ron as they entered Charms and paused to look at the stone walls that ran through the center of the room before following the two of them to stand next to William and his little group, each one greeting the professor as they entered. "What do you think these are for, Harry?" Ron asked quietly.

Danika walked with Faye and stood at the opposite side of the classroom from the others, both nodding their greeting to Professor Yaxley as they entered. They had waited for Zephyr, but he was feeling rather under the weather, so he opted to not attend Charms that day. "What do you supposed?" Faye asked quietly of her older housemate. "I'm sure there is something behind them. Professor Yaxley isn't one to do things without purpose," she assured the younger snake with a wink and a smile

Harry quickly shrugged at Ron's question, how could he have any idea about something going on in a lesson with everything that was happening. He had been thinking about the dueling tournament, the stories of Sirius Black, Voldemort, and everything. His mind was getting overloaded and he hated that.

Kaida gripped Aphrodite's and Artemis' hands with a vice like grip and dragged them into the room. ''Liven up, ladies..'' She muttered and the trio did just that and Celeste bumped into them. ''Sorry girls..'' She whispered and Artemis grabbed Celeste keeping her close. Celeste stared at Briana with a bright smile, knowing she was the reason for one of her middle names.

Soraya rolled her eyes at a fellow ravenclaw and split off from the person, going towards her cousin. She didn't know where her sister was at this moment but would most likely see her soon. She personally enjoyed Charms. 

Ember ran a hand through her hair as she melted into the groups, giving Harry a little wave and a smile. Her gaze was taken by the two walls and her brow furrowed much like her half sisters did. Sliding back, she found herself in Artemis', Aphrodite's, Kaida's and Celeste's little group and they conversed trying to figure it out.

Calypso picked at her fingers, entering the classroom to act like an innocent girl when she was the complete opposite. Her face was covered by her blonde messy curls and hidden behind it was a sick twisted smile as she stared at all the muggleborns, almost hungrily. ''Soon..'' She muttered under her breath, causing much confusion and delight from Kaida. ''What do you think this is about, Kai?'' Calypso asked and the dragon girl shrugged just as the five snakes laced their arms to form a wall of sorts. ''Perhaps something will happen in between them and we must find a way to get past? or we have to move the walls? I am unsure but the Professor obviously knows what she is doing.'' Kaida whispered into Calypso's ear with a smile.

Ian and Junis walked into the classroom and came to stand next to Neville and Linda who were already looking around with slight confusion. "Any idea what this is about?" the Gryffindor girl asked the other three, but they only shrugged. "Whatever it is, it's sure going to be interesting." Ian said, grinning in excitement.

Nyx followed the other students into the classroom with a serene smile on her face. To be honest, she was quite excited for her first lesson, but that was no reason to grin like some demented loon, as some of the other students were doing.

Marina eyed up the walls as she sauntered into the class, her latest candy fix in her mouth. Now what in the name of Rowena was this? She glanced at her head of house questioningly before finding a spot to stand. Well it wasn't like Professor Yaxley to disappoint and so she was sure the lesson would be interesting; although it didn't make the walls any less strange.

Eyes squeezed tight, Niraeya stifled a yawn as she entered the classroom. For once she had woken up early enough to catch a class other than astronomy. Actually, she probably wouldn't have bothered coming if Lara hadn't helped her catch up. Staring at the walls confusion clear on her face, Nira stood off to the least crowded side; resisting the urge to lean against the tables in the back.

There was a sort of bounce in her step when Chandra got to the lesson. She'd simply woken up happy. Not even the placement of the walls seemed to deter her. She was of course slightly perplexed but her thoughts were more along the lines of: "Can I blast it? I wonder if she would let me climb it when we're done." And things of that nature.

As the classroom filled, Briana held up a hand for attention. "Please place your things, except your wand on the tables on either side of the room and then form two lines, one behind each wall so you are facing them," she instructed. As they did, she moved her hand so the chalk would write as she dictated. "Would anyone like to venture a guess as to which charm we might be learning about today based on what is before you?" she posed to the class.
