Charms/Transfiguration Lesson 2

Vixen and Briana finished setting up the Transfiguration classroom for the day's lesson while they chatted lightly about how, hopefully, the students would do an excellent job with the day's task. While the previous lesson wasn't a practical one, this on was, and it was their hope that the students would come prepared to show them their stuff. Briana placed the last green goblet on at the last seat in the back of the room, and used the levitation charm to bring the box back to the front. "Would you like to do the honors?" she asked Vixen. Nodding, Vixen gave her wand a wave and all the glass goblets glowed a vivid green for a moment or two before returning to their non-lit state. "There. One less thing we will need to worry about as they work," she said with a chuckle. "Ready?" she asked Briana, and when her fellow professor nodded, leaning against Vixen's desk, she clapped her hands and the door's to the classroom opened....

Ian bumbed into Mio and David as they walked into the classroom. Today, Neville had joined them and so they all sat down together in the back of the classroom, waiting for the lesson to start.
"Good Morning, Professors." Ian and Neville chimed politely.

David entered the classroom with his friends, and Neville. "good morning" He greeted politely, and sat in between Mio and Ian, waiting for today's class to begin.

Mio strolled after his friends and sank down on his chair next to David. "Good Morning.." he muttered, and let his head drop to the table. He was dead tired and didn't know how to get through a full day of classes.

Rowan slipped into the Transfiguration classroom behind Mio and opted to take the open seat next to him. Nodding to the professors, she glanced over at the others and said with a smile, "Morning, gents. Mio, you ok?"

Bill walked into the classroom with his book bag over his shoulder and a smile on his face. He was looking forward to the lesson, in which he hoped he would learn something new. "Hello, professors," he said with a polite nod before finding a seat. He put his bag on the floor, and waited for the class to begin.

Carmen entered the room and nodded toward the two professors. She thought that it was a great idea that the two classes be combined, since they complimented each other well. Looking around, she decided to take a seat alone. She crossed her legs and rested her elbow on the desk, and her chin in her hand. She was kind of excited for the lesson, but her face showed nothing of the sort. Ravenclaw or not, she didn't want to seem like a teacher's pet.

Artemis walked in with prideful smirk as she had yet another fight with some random Gryffindor. Nodding her head at the two professors, she gave a quick smile. ''Morning professors.'' She muttered before walking to the back of the class and taking her usual seat in the furthest chair. 

Aphrodite chuckled right behind Artemis, being there when the first year got into the fight. She had to admit the girl could fight and was amused when the 'brave' gryffindor got more scrapes and bruises by the end of it than Artemis. Waving quickly at the two professors, she sauntered over to her chair next to Artemis and fist bumped the younger girl before smirking.

Ember walked in and beamed at the two professors, hiding her face from the rest of the class as her shyness was apparent. Turning around, she gave Artemis a smile and got one in return. Sitting in the middle but at one of the edges, she pulls out some parchment and waits, knowing she'll be quiet most of the lesson despite the voices in her mind whispering demands.

Sydney walked into her first Charms lesson and she had to admit she was kind of nervous. However, that feeling of nervousness washed away as soon as she saw those green eyes. She smiled at Ian and sang out, "Good morning, Professor." before making her way over to Ian. She saw David seated on one side of Ian, so she decided to sit on the other. "Hey." She smiled as she got lost in his eyes, like she always did.

Mio rubbed his eyes and looked up when a familiar voice called out to him. "Oh, hey Rowan." he greeted with a warm smile. "I'm fine, just tired." he said and tried to stiffle another yawn. Realizing that they were supposed to demonstrate some spells today, he set up a bit straighter to appear attentive. "Prepared?" Mio asked the Ravenclaw with a smirk.

Malphas opened the door of the class, and held it open for his boys to enter. Archard, Lucius, Mulciber, and then Atticus and Kain entered afterwards. Atticus was still a bit hurt but nothing too huge, a bandage around his head and a plastered arm was all he needed. Malphas entered afterwards, letting the door close, only to be left open by Adrastos.

Harry and Ron followed Adrastos in, and they both eyed Malphas. They didn't go to the party but they heard what happened and they weren't happy, not at all. Harry and Ron sat in the last row, and Adrastos sat beside them, but not before pushing Malphas away from him carefully and discretely.

Rowan nodded to Mio when he asked if she was prepared for the day's lesson. She had read over these two spells a hundred times and felt she had a much better grasp on them then the potion they needed to brew from memory. When Malphas and his crew walked in, her brown eyes simply followed them as they took their seats. She couldn't believe his actions at the party, but what was done was done. She just hoped that Richardo and Chase were both alright.

Vixen clapped her hands once to get everyone's attention before starting. "I'm glad you all found us alright. Let's get started. As you recall, last lesson you were asked to study up on the color changing charm and the levitation charm. I certainly hope you did just that as today you will be showing us both spells," she said, a coy smile spreading across her face. "For those of you that perhaps did not study up, you are permitted to use both your charms and transfiguration texts for this exercise. However, be prepared that next time, you may not have this option," Vixen added before turning the floor over to Briana.

"We will be coming around to see your progress. You will find a green goblet before each of you. You will need to change it's color to something else and then make it levitate using both spells that we discussed and you studied up on since last class. You can perform them in whichever order you wish, just as long as you complete both," Briana instructed them all. When she saw several nervous looks from the students, she added, "And don't worry, we enchanted all the goblet with an anti-breaking spell. Should one fall, it won't break. You may begin!"

The boys all looked down spotting the green goblets waiting for them. Adrastos looked to his side and saw a green goblet without anyone tending to it. It was for Ricardo, however, he hadn't come, because of course, he was still recovering.  Holding his wand in his hand, Adrastos clenched his jaw as he looked at Malphas, anger in his mind. His goblet flew into the air, being nailed to the ceiling, and it turned completely black.

Harry's jaw went slack as he saw Adrastos easily do what he did but little did he know Adrastos didn't even mean to do such a thing. Trying the same on his goblet, he simply made it turn scarlett red, and it hovered slightly above his desk.

Atticus and Kain both had some problems changing the color however they easily made it hover up just above their heads. Atticus' goblet turned into a light blonde like Celeste's hair, and Kain into a dark blue, after the shirt he was wearing.

Malphas was a bit distracted but once he saw his crew had successfully finished the task, he bit his cheek as he held his wand, he waved it once, and the goblet turned into a colorful green and it flew just a bit under the ceiling, "Now that's Slytherin like," he joked.

As Briana took one half of the classroom, Vixen took the other. Pausing in front of Adrastos and his crew of sorts, she watched as he performed both spells, not only changing the color of his goblet, but cracked her ceiling as it sailed with enough force up to wedge itself in the stone above them. Raising an eyebrow at Adrastos, she said, "A little excessive, but well done. 10 points to Gryffindor." Leaning in so only he could hear her, she added, "And, an extra 5 points for destroying my ceiling. Let's not make a habit of this, Mr. Moody." She normally didn't reward such actions, but it wasn't very often that she was truly impressed with what someone did. This was truly extraordinary.

Moving on to Harry, she watched his work and nodded with a smile. While his goblet only floated slightly above his desk, he still accomplished both spells. "Good work, Harry. Try focusing a little more on the levitation charm, and you will be all set. 10 points to Gryffindor," she said before turning to attention to the next students in line.

Kain and Atticus were next, and while they seemed to have some difficulty with changing the color of their goblets, eventually, the color did change. They also levitated their goblets with ease. "Excellent, gentlemen. 10 points each to Slytherin," she said, a touch of pride in her voice as she moved onto the next.

Watching Malphas work, Vixen swelled with pride at seeing his outcome of both spells. Sending his goblet to the ceiling, but not like Adrastos, and turning it a brilliant green, she smiled and nodded. "Just like a Slytherin. Well done. 10 points to Slytherin," Vixen told him with a wink and moved on to the other students.

David had read all about these charms. He had tried the levitation charm with success, but never attempted the color changing one, so he was not sure how it was going to turn out. David pulled out his wand and pointed it at the goblet. Thinking of the colors red and gold, that of his house and said, trying for a confident voice "Colovaria" The goblet changed to stripes of red and gold. That's when David smiled and said "Wingardium Leviosa!"And it rose into the air. He smirked at his friends "Piece of cake" He didn't bother mentioning it took him over 20 tries on his own to get the levitation charm right, and that he was trying to get the goblet to have a background of red with a gold shield instead of stripes.

Ian took out his wand and pointed it at the goblet in front of him. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see that many of the other students had already managed the two spells, but he had been practicing and so he hoped that he would be able to cast the spells without problems.
Clearing his throat, Ian clearly incanted "Colovaria!" making the goblet turn into a jade green colour.
He smiled, and encouraged by his success, moved on to the second charm. With a well placed flick and swish, the goblet raised slowly up and down again, following the movement of his wand.

Neville swallowed hard and tried to copy his class mates actions. The colour changing spell worked quite well and his goblet turned into an earthy brown, but when he tried the levitation charm, instead of rising like the other's did, his goblet shot forward and crashed against the wall. "Sorry!" Neville exclaimed, shooting an excusing glance at his professors before getting up to get his goblet back. The second try did not look much better, but at least this time, the goblet when upwards instead of forwards.

Artemis listened, payed attention and when it came to the practical, stood up with a pride filled smirk. Pulling out her wand, she winked at Aphrodite who laughed lightly. ''Colovaria...'' She muttered and her goblet turned to the colour of blood which made her bite her lip from laughing. She then made it levitate into the air and it danced it's way around the room. ''That's how a huntress does it..'' She whispered darkly before letting it dance around her fellow Slytherin's heads.

Aphrodite rolled her eyes at Artemis' comment and stood up herself. ''Colovaria!'' Her goblet turned into a bright gold, almost like the sun and it lightly touched the high ceiling. ''And that's how a goddess does it..'' She whispered into Artemis' ear, laughing.

Ember glanced back at her sister whilst she did her magic. ''Colovaria.'' Ember whispered firmly causing her goblet to turn into a light blue with a purple base colour. Levitating it, she watched it hover above her head.

Mio pulled out his wand and pointed it at his goblet. "Colovaria!" he incanted and turned it into a bright shade of white at the top, while the lower it got, the colour turned into a dark red so it looked as if the goblet had been dipped in blood.
He grinned at his friends and then leviated his goblet over to bang it lightly against David's chair.

David raised an eyebrow at Mio, then smirked, making his goblet tap Mio lightly on the head "On Guard" He whispered in a knightly tone, his red and gold goblet at the ready.

Rowan looked at the green goblet in front of her and then watched as Mio and the rest of them changed their goblets and levitated them. Smiling at them, she took out her wand and said, "Colovaria." Her incantation wasn't as strong as the others, but the effect was spot on. The glass changed from green to a brilliant blue. Smiling at what she had done, she did the same with the levitation charm and the goblet responded as it should, moving to levitate just above her head.

Ron watched Harry and the others work before setting to do the spells on his own goblet. Casting the color change charm first, Ron focused quite hard and very slowly the goblet turned from green to green. With another swish and flick of his wand he tried to levitate the goblet. Nothing happened.... He tried again, and still nothing. Brushing his sleeves up, Ron gave it one more go, and this time, the goblet slowly floated a foot or so off his desk. Giving a nod of satisfaction, Ron waited to be graded...

Briana walked among the desks, observing the students work just as Vixen was doing. Stopping to see David's work, she nodded at his floating cup that now sported some house pride for colors and said, "Great work! 10 points to Gryffindor." Next she spotted Ian, and, again, was pleased to see both spells completed as instructed. "Ian, good job! 10 points to Hufflepuff," Briana rewarded him. Just as she was about to move away from Ian's desk, a lovely, earthy brown goblet shot out in front of her and tinked against the far wall. Briana's blue eyes looked at Neville and a smile touched her features. He retrieved his goblet and tried again. This time, it went up instead of out. "Well done, Neville. Next time, try to relax. You're doing just fine. 10 points to Gryffindor," she said with a wink before moving on.

Vixen looked up when she heard the sound of a goblet clink against one of the walls. Smiling in spite of herself at what had happened, she turned her attention back to Artemis and nodded for her to give the spells a go. She didn't disappoint, and neither did Aphrodite. "Excellent work, both of you. 10 points a piece to Slytherin," she said very pleased. Next was Emeber. Watching her work, Vixen nodded at her success and said, "Fantastic, Ember. 10 points to Gryffindor."

Briana next focused on Mio and his work. Just as she would expect, his goblet changed color and levitated flawlessly. She even chuckled when he sent it to tap David's chair, which caused him to tap his floating goblet against Mio's. "Excellent work. 10 points to Gryffindor. Guess we should count ourselves lucky we make them unbreakable," she mused before moving onto Rowan. When her goblet turned a bright blue, Briana beamed. Nothing like sporting a little house pride when you can, and to be able to work the spell without excessive force and get the results she did, it was impressive. As it floated above her head, Briana nodded and said, "Fantastic, Rowan! 10 points to Ravenclaw."

Vixen moved onto Ron to watch him work. Both spells took a little more effort, but they were completed. "Ron, great work. Try to focus your mind a little more as you cast your spells, and cast them with purpose instead of simply saying them. They will work better for you then. 10 points to Gryffindor," she told him with a wink.

Sydney pointed her wand at the goblet, cleared her throat and said, "Colovaria." The goblet in front of her changed from a green to a pale blue color. She was not pleased. She tried again, Colovaria." This time, it turned a brilliant shade of blue. She smiled at her boyfriend beside her and giggled triumphantly. She then noticed Ian was already done, "Awww you beat me."

Mio chuckled and started a fencing match with David, using their goblets as swords. He grinned, when his house mates got points for their good work. "Hopefully we'll win the cup this year." he said, looking around. The Slytherins would be hard to beat, but he would do his best to earn as many points as possible.

As everyone was wrapping up, Vixen announced to the class, "Well done, everyone. Once you have been graded, you are free to go. We will keep you posted about next class, whether it will be combined or not." Many students began to pack up and head out as she moved to Sydney's desk. "One down, one to go. Or is that all?" she asked. Vixen had seen how much time she was spending on the color change charm, and while she appreciated that she wanted it perfect, perfect was not needed in this lesson.

Happy that they were free to go, Rowan packed up her books and notes and gave Ian and the group a wave bye. "See you guys!" she said happily and ventured out the door, heading for her next class.

Ron sighed. It was over! They made it through the lesson. Picking up his things, he grinned at Harry. "Fancy a game of chess, Harry?" he asked as he packed everything away and waited for his friend to do the same so they could head back to the Common Room.

Neville smiled, glad that he had managed to pass the lesson without causing too much of a disaster and gathered up his books quietly. Then he looked over to his classmates and waved them goodbye before leaving the room.

Ian was watching David and Mio fight with their goblets when Sydney addressed him. He chuckled and grinned at her. "I practiced my dear." he told her with a wink, then turned to wave Rowan and his friends off. "See you at lunch!" he called over then turned back to Sydney. "Hurry with the levitation spell, I'll wait, okay?" he said kindly.
