Charms Lesson 2

Professor Yaxely placed the last basin on the work tables and did a double count to make sure there was one for each student. They would need them today. Satisfied that she had enough for her students, she readied herself for their arrival. She was pleased with how well they had done with the Lumos Maxima charm, and that set the bar high for them this class and the charm they were to work on.

Luna rushed to one of her favorite classes with a small smile on her face. She pulled her sleeves up, her jagged scars on show. She felt most comfortable around Professor Yaxley as she was friends with her godmother. She entered the class and smiled, bowing her head with respect at the Professor. She walked to the very back, liking the darkness and noticed she's the first one.

Kronos sat in the room, he saw Luna and he sneaked up on her, hugging her quickly and pecking her cheek. He smiled and left her a rose before returning to his seat at the back of the room.

Jocelyn strolled in, she wasn't in the happiest moods and her expression said, expect a curse if you annoy me. She looked around the room and saw her brother and his girlfriend Luna but didn't pay any attention to them. She walked to the middle of the room and plopped down, she grabbed her books and then writing things she needed and then she rested her head on her arms on her table in front of her. A Bad night and most definitely going to be a bad day.

Luna smirked as Kronos tried to sneak up on her and she hugs him back. She kisses his cheek softly and watched as he sat nearby. She smells the rose and puts it in her hair as a faint blush grew on her cheeks. She lifted her hand to wave at Jocelyn but sensing her bad mood, she put it down with a sigh. Crossing her arms over her chest, she chewed her lip which had become a habit of her's lately.

Azaria walked into the Charms classroom, ready for class. She had been having a pretty good day so she wasn't in a bad mood. She looked around the classroom trying to spot Kiara, but she didn't seem to be there. She found a seat by herself and pulled her parchment, ink, and quill out of her bag. She spotted the basin on her table and wondered what they would be doing with them.

Morgan entered the Charms classroom and took her usual seat towards the back of the middle. Charms was quickly becoming a favorite class to attend. Upon sitting down, she took out the supplies she would need and pondered the basin in front of her. Looking up she spotted the Luna, Azaria, Kronos, and Jocelyn. She gave each one a smile and a wave in greeting, even Jocelyn who seemed in a rather foul mood. She hoped that things would brighten up for her by the end of class.

Vixen sauntered into Charms and took the first open seat she could find with a sigh. She crossed her legs at the ankles and stretched them out in front of her, and set her bag on the floor. Looking around, she figured she better follow everyone's example and get her supplies out, which she did. Then, quietly drumming her fingers on her desk, she waited for class to start.

Sirius slowly pushed the door of the classroom open, cracking his knuckles, and glancing around. With two of his fingers, he saluted Briana with a smirk, before waving at Luna, and, Kronos. Quickly though, as soon as anyone looked at him, he was already sitting next to Morgan, yawning and scratching his back. "God I wish I was in the forest right now..." he muttered, as if he still felt his tail wagging. "How's you Morgs?" he asked casually, not even taking notice of the basin in front of him.

Morgan smiled as Sirius took a seat next to her. "And why is that, may I ask?" she asked with a grin. "I'm good, I'm good. Getting a little nervous, but good. You?" she added, brushing the tip of her quill absentmindedly across the area in front of her.

Luna looks towards the door to see Morgan and she waves back with a happy smile. She began sketching on the parchment before her, chewing at her lip. Luna looked up in time to see Sirius walk in, a bright smile appeared on her face and she waved back happily. It's been far too long since she'd seen Sirius and to be honest, she did miss him. She looks at Kronos and gives him a loving smile as a faint blush forms on her face whilst she stares at her love.

Selena quickend her steps and almost bounced into the classroom to her second charm lesson. They were still working on the project and she enjoyed it a lot.
She sat down close to the front by the windows, so she could overlook the grounds below as her thoughts were wandering to what they had learned the last time.

Morgan smiled brightly. "Ah.... Right.... Yes, I feel the same way sometimes," she said with a wink as she folded her arms across the table and rested her head on them. She had to admit, since she had learned to be a fox, there were times that being in that form was more pleasing than in her human form, so she could sympathize. Morgan knew he still cared for his dad, and that it wasn't something that he openly talked about. Turning her head to look at him, she said, "Not saying a word about such matters. How is he, though?"

As she watched her students file in, she figured it was about time to get started. Professor Yaxley held up her hands to get their attention. "Good day, ladies and gentlemen. Today we are going to learn the next charm for your globes project. We already mastered the charm for the light globe, and today we will learn the charm for the water globe, hence the basins in front of each of you," she explained. "The water-making charm, Aquamenti will produce a jet of clear water to spout from your wand tip. Can anyone tell me the color of light that this charm will emit if cast correctly before the water is made?" Professor Yaxley asked. She knew that this charm was likely one than several of them already knew, but you could never know for sure.

Azaria listened as her professor began the lesson. She asked a question, and after several moments of silence, Azaria raised her hand. She didn't do this in class very often, but she knew the answer, so why not answer it? "It is a light blue," she said in her small voice, raising it at the end as if it were a question. If Kiara was there she might have applauded. She was always trying to get Azaria out of her shell.

Luna sat up in her chair as her professor began. She stared at the basin with interest and her hand itched to begin. She listened to Azaria as she answered and looked back at Briana with a tilted head, thinking of it. She stroked the edge of the basin and though of how water is the opposite of fire causing her to grin due to her love of fire.

"Yes, excellent, Miss Renner. 5 points to Ravenclaw. If cast correctly, your wand should emit a light blue light, or icy blue, prior to the clear jet of water pouring from it," Professor Yaxley informed them all. Taking a basin herself, Professor Yaxley moved to a better position for the students to see her. "In order to cast this charm, simply make a sideways 'S' motion ending with the tip of your wand pointed in the direction you wish the water to go and say the incantation, Aquamenti," she explained. Professor Yaxley then did just that. She made the proper wand movement and shortly after speaking the spell, the tip of her wand glowed a light blue and water poured out into the basin.

"Now, best be careful with this one. We are only looking for a gentle stream of water as you will need to capture it for your globes. If you focus and concentrate too hard, your stream could end up being a wave..." she told them, looking from student to student, her bright blue eyes lingering on Sirius as a small grin fought to spread across her face. With a wink, she continued, "Take some time to practice this charm. Use the basins provided to catch your water. I will be around to check on your progress."

Luna listened and watched the light blue tip of Briana's wand. The water splashed into the basin and she grinned. She couldn't wait. She pulled her wand out of her bun so her hair cascades down her back and she stood up. She spins her wand in her hand and tilts her head. She tested the word first. ''Aquamenti....'' It rolled off of her tongue with ease and she smirked. She then did the wand movement with her other hand to get it right. She did the proper wand movement with the wand and an icy blue glow came out of her wand. ''Aquamenti..'' However Luna did focus and concentrate a little hard so instead of it being a gentle stream, it was a little faster but not a wave. She tilted her head and rested her elbows on the table, looking at the water in the basin.

Jocelyn pulled her head up as professor Yaxley was starting her lesson, she didn't want to get detention. As professor Yaxley told about the water charm, Jocelyn smiled. She knew this charm good and has used it a couple of times. It was time to practice and Jocelyn made the S with the tip of her wand and said. "Aquamenti." Nothing happened but Jocelyn wasn't even focused on what she was doing. She looked at her wand and she tried it again. "Aquamenti..." Now a ice blue yet of light with a stream of water came out and it streamed perfectly into the basin in front of her. She then stopped and put her wand next to her, her eyes halfclosed.

Selena had to bit down hard on her lip to keep from laughing out loud at the picture of someone casting a wave of water around the classroom. She smirked and pulled out her wand, concentrating on the task at hand.
She pulled a basin closer to her seat and cleared her throat before casting the spell, though it didn't come out right. The wandmovement seemed to be a bit awkward, she thought and tried it again. "Aguamenti" This time, a small steam of water shot out of her wand and sloshed in the basin. Nice!, she thought and tried it once more.

God this is gonna be dull... Sirius thought, before glancing at his basin. Such an easy charm for him. He didn't even need to focus that much, because he had mastered aquamenti long ago. The sixth year was centered around that same charm, and Sirius was forced to learn it even if he didn't want to. With a peevish look, he pointed his wand straight at the basin, slashing the air with his own, much faster, version, of the 'S' motion. The tip of his wand glowed with a light blue light, before a small, quick jet of water hovered fast down onto the basin, filling it up. "Ah, at least this charm is pleasant to look at." he smirked, before kicking back in his chair with his wand in his hand.

Morgan smiled. She knew this charm from reading about it and performing it on her own. Morgan watched Sirius perform the charm and grinned as she followed his lead. Making the same 'S' motion in the air, she spoke, "Aquamenti." Morgan used just enough focus that the icy light lit on her wand tip and the clear stream of water sprang from it and flowed into the basin. She looked at Sirius and winked with a grin.

With a small sneer on his face, Severus watched the other students around him cast the spell and wondered why he even bothered going to classes in the first place. It was times like these when he actually believed when the dark lord told them that he could teach them much more useful things then they would ever learn at school.
Still, as the good student he was, Severus pulled out his wand and with the correct movement and a muttered "Aguamenti" filled his basin with clear water.

As Professor Yaxley made her rounds correcting and observing her class, she was quite please. As was to be expected, she had several who could cast this charm with ease and others who struggled. But, that was how it went when you taught all the years in the same class. "Excellent work today, Ladies and Gentlemen. This concluded today's lesson. I do hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Class dismissed!" she said happily.
