The Champion Selection (Open To All Students and Staff)

As the students file into the great hall they notice a giant goblet giving off a blue firelight in the center of the room. The students take there seats surrounding the room and the headmistresses step back to allow the Minister of Magic, Willow Noble to take the floor.

Willow stood in the shadows watching the students enter the hall, as they settle down she steps forward standing in front of the goblet. "As you all know I am here to choose the students who will take part in the tri-wizard tournament" she said her eyes looking over each and every one of them.

"If your name is chosen you enter into a binding contract that will not be given up until the tournament is over or you are dead. Though the ministry will be here to ensure that all is well and you are safe, with that being said we shall begin, when I call your name you will come stand up here"

Stepping forward she reached her hand into the fire and took out a piece of paper and read off the name "Sirius Black, of Gryffindor"

"Kestral Olander, Aranae"

"Luna Valkyrie, Hufflepiuff"

"Cian Dawson, Emperor"

Jocelyn was sitting alone at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall, she was looking at the students who piled in and when her deputy headmistress begun to talk she focused on the front of the hall. The Minister of Magic was talking now and everyone was quiet. De first name the Mister called out was Sirius Black and the table of Griffindor was clapping and yelling with pride, Jocelyn glared at him but then focused on the Mister again for the other names, the second name was Kestrel Olander. She was from the other school because a bunch of students begun to yell and cheer. The third name was Luna Valkyrie. Jocelyn widened her eyes when she heard Luna's name get picked out and looked wildly around for Luna. This is not happening! Jocelyn thought, she started to breath in and out the air, she could just in time control her breathing. The fourth name was also being called but Jocelyn didn't hear it she was only thinking of Luna, her only friend...

Sirius entered the great hall, where he quickly sat next to James. Remus and Peter were close enough. They didn't talk to each other. As both knew the other had placed his name on the goblet. What if they had to fight each other? That would be found out soon enough. When the female minister, Willow Noble, mentioned possible death, Sirius gulped. He wasn't scared. But he did think about how many people would miss him.

"Sirius Black, of Gryffindor" He heard the Minister say. The goblet had picked him to be a champion for hogwarts. Sirius got up, as nearly all, if not all, gryffindors clapped that one of their house had been picked to enter the tournament.

"Kestrel...Luna...Cian." Sirius heard the names of the people he would have to face. He left his seat, and approached the minister. He shot a nice glare towards Professor Lestrange. Guess no slytherin got on. Pity. Sirius smiled, as he waited for the other champions to arrive, and at the same time, searched for Morgan in the Ravenclaw table.

James had been in the room as long as Dellen had been. He had entered at the same time the professor did. When Sirius arrived next to him, James looked extremely serious. He knew what Padfoot was thinking. The same he was thinking. The danger.

"Sirius Black, of Gryffindor" James was a little relieved. He entered his name in the goblet, but truly wished he wasn't picked. He sighed as Sirius's name was heard, and was troubled about the possibility of losing his friend. This thought didn't even let him hear the names of the other champions.

Morgan sat at the Ravenclaw table mixed in with the Araneae students who were sharing their house as they all waited for the champion selections to be made. When the Minister of Magic announced what being selected would entail, or possibly entail, she swallowed hard. She didn't want to think about any of her friends meeting their end in the tournament if they were selected. Then the Minister began selecting champions...

Sirius Black, of Gryffindor Morgan's grey-blue eyes grew wide and a small smile spread across her face. Her boyfriend was a champion. She joined the applause around her, a little after it had started. She then heard the other selections, Kestrel, the Araneae who she made friends with earlier; Luna, she looked over at her friend and smiled at her as she clapped; and Cian, an Emperor she had met in passing once or twice.

As the champions gathered at the front, Morgan looked right at Sirius. She smiled brightly at him. Morgan was proud of him and it showed on her face, which she was. But, inside and her eyes showed something else: worry and fear.

Marvolo watched the champions being selected, spinning her ring on her finger as she listened. She grinned darkly..knowingly...as she watched the champions rise to there feet, she had known Sirius would be picked, he was a give in. The true person she was happy to see up there was Luna, the hufflepuff girl she had met at the ball. She clapped for the girl and nodded to Sirius,

truth was neither she nor her sister had entered the cup because they were too brutal and cruel to other students that it simply would make them to dangerous..and neither headmasters wished for the cup to be boring.

She clapped again as the Minister presented the champions her eyes on Luna, she wanted the hufflepuff girl to fight and to win.

Kestrel kept her self from drumming her fingers on the table as she waited for the champions to be called. She had given in to the temptation and entered her name into the goblet; and now as her name was called, she froze. She had not really expected to be picked and now she no choice. She was trapped. Placing a cool mask over her face, she rose and joined the rest of the champions at the front. A small sigh escaped her, perhaps this had been a bad idea.

Celania listened anxiously as the minister spoke. She hadn't entered her name into the tournament. It wasn't a risk she was willing to take but she was excited to see who would be called from Hogwarts. She clapped rather loud as both Luna and Sirius' names were called. She wasn't too surprised to hear their names. Knowing Sirius it was only natural that he would enter and Luna didn't seem like your average Hufflepuff. She smirked at the thought of Luna winning. She wanted her to win. Good luck to you too though Sirius, she thought. She was a bit worried about her cousin admittedly, but he would be fine if not a bit maimed.

Scarlett entered the Great Hall with great dismay blanked flatly on her face. This event, this moment was what kept her from dreaming wonderful dreams; which were instead replaced by horrifying nightmares. Every thought, every dream, every nightmare, every journal entry was based strongly on hoping Luna wasn't picked and what would happen if she was. Scarlet listened as Minster began selecting the "champions" from the Goblet.

"Sirius Black, of Gryffindor" the Mister started, causing Scarlett to look up at her Luna's face as people clapped and cheered with happiness. "Kestral Olander, Aranae," she added next, "Lu-," she started, but Scarlett already knew what was to come. Silence ring through her brain and an annoying ring rung through her ears. The same horrifying sound that went off before her mother's passing. No, no, it can't, she thought, her heart beating faster, her hands sweating rapidly. Run, her mind screamed as she took off for the door.

Scarlett pushed open the Great Doors and looked back with tear filled eyes. The champions were gathered at the front of the room and were waving trying their best to appeal to the fill-joyed crowd. Scarlett looked back forward and took off for the entrance door. Where do I go? she thought, filling a liquid drop down her cheek. To the Forbidden Forest, something rang back. Something that didn't sound like her own voice, but she did want it said and ran fast for it.

Alora sat anxiously awaiting the champion selection. She had entered, and since she had entered, she had thought that perhaps it would have been a better idea to not. But, what was done was done and she would just have to wait and see what would come to pass. As the minister began selecting names, she held her breath in anticipation... Sirius Black, of Gryffindor... Kestrel Olander, of Araneae... Alora turned to look at Kestrel, and gave her a small nod and smile in congratulations as she clapped lightly for her schoolmate. Luna Valkyrie, of Hufflepuff... Cian Dawson, of Emperor. At hearing her name not be called, Alora let out the breath she had been holding. She smiled at her housemate and gave him a gentle nudge as she lapped loudest for him. Since one from her house had been selected, she was certain to cheer for him more than the other champions, and, deep down, she wanted him to win.

Cian had taken a seat next to Alora in the Great Hall for the champion selection. Unlike many of the others he had spoken to about entering, he was not worried at all. If he was selected, well then, he was and would be honored to do whatever was asked of him in the challenges. The Minister of Magic stepped forward and informed them of what he already knew: selection meant you entered into a magical contract, and the only way out was to complete the competition or die trying. Frankly, he hoped for the later if he was picked. Then, the selection: a Gryffindor, an Araneae, a Hufflepuff, and...himself. Cian looked around to be sure he heard correctly. At Alora's smile and nudge, he knew he heard correctly. His typical crooked grin spread across his face as he got up, placed a hand on his prefect's shoulder, giving it a squeeze of thanks, and headed for the front of the hall to join the other champions.

Quietly, Emery sat at the Ravenclaw table. She was very worried about her name being in the goblet. More of what her parents would say if she was picked than anything else. When the selections were made, she clapped for each one, a boy from Gryffindor, a fellow Araneae, a Hufflepuff... She wasn't sure who was picked after the Hufflepuff as she noticed another from that table get up and run quickly from the hall. Emery looked around to see if anyone would notice her slip out. When she saw the coast was clear, she got up and went after the Hufflepuff. She didn't know who she was, or why she was going after her, but it felt like the right thing to do. The girl was in distress, and being that they were sharing Hogwarts this year, she felt a little obligated to help where she might be able to.

When Emery made it to the hall outside the Great Hall, she looked for the girl. She spotted her cloak exiting the castle, and she followed after her. She didn't know where the girl was heading to, but she would follow to make sure she was alright.

Ginny was sitting down at the Hufflepuff Table when they began announcing champions. She was surprised to hear Luna, her dorm mate being chosen a champion. She didn't know Luna had entered her name in the goblet. The other person she recognized being called was Cian. She smiled, hopefully no one would die in the Tournament.

Regulus was pulled into the room by a power, probably not even Dumbledore could understand. Andromeda. The most persistent cousin he had. She also happened to be the prettiest, and as his brother would say, hottest, cousin as well. Regulus wasn't gonna lie. He didn't enjoy many people. Only a select few. Severus, Selena, Morgan, Andromeda, Marvolo, Morana, and of course...since he had too, Sirius. They may be very different, but they were indeed brothers.

Once Regulus heard Sirius's name, he got up, but quickly sat down. My brother was picked?. He heard what Andro said, but he simply looked stunned. After hearing the other names, Regulus clenched his fist under the table. Why was he not picked? He, a keen, intelligent, cunning individual. What the hell more did that damned goblet want. He felt anger, and disdain, but shrugged it off, slowly starting to clap. "Fine, you got me on the ball. Get lucky? Sorry in advance if I don't get surprised." Reg' actually budged a smirk, as his thoughts from earlier came back.

The only thing he disliked about Andromeda were the boys. They were always staring at her curves. And that pissed Regulus off. Like that Ted. He had no right looking at Andro all the time. She wasn't his. She wasn't anyone's. Although Regulus had a bit of an idea of how to change that.

Luna felt her heart rac as she hears her name being called out. Her eyes widened for a bit and muttered a swearword as she sees Scarlett run out. She claps for the others and looks around, smiling at Morgan trying to hide the panic in her eyes. She sees Marvolo and grins. She drinks all of her water and puts her chin in the palm of her hands not knowing what to do now. She just started blankly at the far wall.

"Champions" The Minister said "your heads of houses and headmasters are responsible for mentoring you, you shall enter into the first task unawares so study and prepare yourselves" she smirked a bit "But tonight you celebrate"
