Making Due (Morgan) Empty Making Due (Morgan)

Desmon leaned heavily on his cane as he made his way to the hospital wing, his leg hurt so badly it was becoming unbearable so he knew it was time to drag his stubborn ass to visit his Aunt. Passing rows of students as he walked he thought of Ginny and how lucky he was...to be able to call her his own. He smiled a bit thinking exciteably about telling his Aunt Morgan as he stopped by the Green Houses to pick pale blue flowers for the head healer and then made his way to the hospital wing.

By now he was dragging the prosthetic desperate from the pain it brought him to get it off but first he had to greet his Aunt. Making his way to her office he leaned in the oppen door way and using his cane he knocked twice and grinned playfully at the woman he'd known his entire life.

Morgan sat at the desk in the office of he Hospital Wing that had been given to her for her time at Hogwarts for the tournament, pouring over a new book of different potions that would prove beneficial for her post at St. Mungo's and, potentially, though Merlin forbid, here at the school. Thankfully, the first task was over and behind them. Now the focus was on the coming Yule Ball and the second task. She had been surprised at the different types of maladies that had come to her for help since she'd been there, but then again, as Remus had told her time and time again, people want the best when they need care, or think they need care. Thus... Morgan was kept busy...

Smiling to herself at the compliment her husband had paid her about such things, she brushed a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear and flipped the page. As a double knock reached her ears, Morgan looked up and smiled at seeing her nephew leaning in the doorway, grinning at her. "Desmon! What brings you here? Come in, come in..." she greeted him, bookmarking her place and getting up from her desk to go to him, arms open in a welcoming hug to her much taller nephew.

Bowing a bit so he could encompass his aunt's smaller form her hugged her tightly before stepping back and presented her with the blue flowers "As you know my hatred for the hospitals have kept me at bay..but my stubbornness has gotten me into some trouble.." he said giving her a look that said 'dont kill me'

Squeezing him tightly as he embraced her, Morgan smiled up at him when they let one another go. He was quickly catching up to Remus, she noted, much like her sons. As he held out the blue flowers to her, her brilliant grey-blue eyes lit up. Taking them, she waved her hand and a vase from one of the cabinets flew to the sink and filled itself with water before settling on the desk. Placing the flowers in their new home she listened to just why her nephew was at her door. But my stubbornness has gotten me into some trouble... Snapping her eyes to Desmon, she tipped her head in that motherly fashion and raised an eyebrow ever so slightly. He knew the look... "Guess I better have a look, huh? Come on..." she said, motioning for him to come in. Walking past the exam table her office held, she patted it as she expertly slid a small step stool to the foot of the bed to help him get up if he needed it. Going into the next room to wash her hands and grab a few things she called to him, "Tell me what happened. And don't leave out things for my sake..."

Dragging the leg behind him he used the stool and got up to the table before placing his leg on the table. "i've almost completely outgrown this leg" he said as he rolled up his durmstrang black slacks and began to work the straps, his skin around the cup that held what was left of his leg was red and irritated. As he slid it off he sighed with releif but didnt see on the edge of the nub was a black spot with spider veins coming off it of infection. "its been bad since i got into a bit of a confrontation.."

Nodding as she returned to the main room, Morgan commented, "You should have been fitted with a new one several months ago, Des. Why wait so long?" Summoning her stool so she could sit when needed, Morgan watched as he removed the prosthetic. It was clear to her trained eyes that he was more then just a little overdue for a new leg, and the small sigh and shake of her head told him so. Lightly placing her hands on what was left of his leg, Morgan took a closer look at the portion of his shin that rested in the cup of his leg. "Quite the rub sores you have here, my boy..." she commented lightly before her brow furrowed at seeing the black tendrils of infection climbing up his leg towards his knee. Taking a seat so she was looking straight on to his leg, Morgan found the source of the infection: a healed and yet very angry stab wound. Waving her hand at the door, it closed and she raised her eyes to her nephew. "What happened?" she asked, her voice shifting to that of the Head Healer she was. It was serious, but just how serious all mattered on how he answered her question.

As dependable as the sun being guaranted to rise each morning he heard his aunt chsange from her playful demeanor to her healer mode. Twisting his body to see what she saw he scowled and thought back to a nasty encounter he had in the black lake. "i was swimming somewhere i shouldnt and got attacked" he shrugged

Letting out a sigh, Morgan asked, "And, what stabbed you? Did it have a color?" Turning to her black back, she thumbed through the different vials she carried. Whatever stuck him was laced with poison and likely was colored to reflect that, blade or not, but she had to know whether it was man-made or naturally occurring. Either way, it was going to hurt like hell when she cleared it away, and she knew it from personal experience, remembering how she got the scar she bore on her right side just below her ribs. Pulling out a small roll of tools, Morgan opened it flat allowing the light to glint off the different silver items that were neatly tucked in their places as she waited for his answer.

Sensing her frustration he sighed and laid back on the table closing his eyes "i was just swimming...ended up in the caves under the lake..some selkies were making comments about me atleast i think they were and i got into a scrap. It was a rusted blade but it looked like any other.."

Desmon's explanation didn't make sense. A rusted blade could cause infection, but there was more to this wound then just that. There was a poison slowly making it's way through his body, that much was certain, but what kind was yet to be seen. "Des, I need you to lay still. Your wound is infected, which is half of the cause of your pain," she told him as she drew a vial and a syringe from her bag. Taking the needed amount, Morgan injected it into the area around the angry wound to numb it as best as she could. He was tough, she knew that, but she wasn't merciless. "Here we go..." she whispered to him. Counting in her mind to ten, she drew her scalpel from it's place in her collection and delicately sliced the wound open. Letting the fluids confirming infection drain on the table, Morgan's heightened sense of smell picked up on something that was out of place. Putting her nose closer to the opening she made, her brow furrowed as the smell of sandalwood registered in her mind. That was what she needed... "Don't move, Desmon," she ordered him, firmly, as she returned to the room next to the one they were in and began pouring over the different vials of potions and things in the cabinets.

The pain was excruciating but he didn't move a muscle "Aunt Morgan" he said through grit teeth "it feels like fiend fire" his spine arched as he fought the pain and his skin reddened.

Scanning the vials quickly, Morgan heard her nephew's telling of how it felt and she wasn't surprised in the least. Finally finding what she needed, she grabbed both a vial of a smokey white liquid as well as morter, pestle, evergreen needles, and a very small vial of unicorn blood. Returning to Desmon's side, Morgan took note of his skin as it reddened with both pain and fever from the infection and posion as her incision seemed to active it to spread quicker. "Hang in there, Des..." she cooed to him as she placed 7 needles in her morter and ground them to a fine dust. Taking the vial of blood, she carefully added 3 drops, whispering the proper spell as the drops hit the dust she made. When the final drop met the dust, a strong hissing and green smoke eminated from her white marble morter, changing the dust into a vivid emerald green liquid that was oderless.

Summoning a tumbler from her desk, Morgan held her morter in one hand and the vial of smokey liquid in the other. Removing the stopper with her teeth and sptting it out, she poured both, at the same time into the glass, saying the final incantation. As the two became one, the color and smokey appearence of them vanished, turning into something that was thicker then water but looked and smelled the same. Setting both pieces down and taking up the glass, Morgan moved quickly to her nephew and slipped her arm under his strong shoulders, propping him up against her. "You need to drink this, Desmon... I'm sorry in advance," she whispered to him and held the glass to his lips, helping him to drink.
