Care of Magical Creatures Lesson 2

Malphas had gotten the memo from his father, to, instead of going to the usual clearing, go to the Black Lake. He figured it was because of the creature they'd study, the Dragon, since the Black Lake was more extensive, and had more space to harbor a dragon. As he arrived he smirked at his dad as usual, and sat down, staring at the ocean.

Atticus was already at the clearing, waiting for the professor. He was however, surprised he wasn't there, so, if Bruce wasn't there to give the class, Atticus wouldn't be there either. Hooking himself to a tree, he hurled his body up and then hovered to the Black Lake. He wanted to take a dip but instead found Malphas and professor Carrow. He quickly hid his maneuver gear under his jacket, and sat down. He hadn't slept in the dorm today, maybe he had failed to get the note.

Kain exited the castle and yawned, yes, yawned in the afternoon, as he hadn't gotten much sleep. He went down the small hill, and then sat down next to Atticus "Aye bud," he greeted him, and then cracked his knuckles.

Adrastos ran from the Abbot girl after he had her hang upside down in plain great hall. She was furious and had been running after him since early morning but Adrastos could only laugh when he thought about it. When she finally lost track of him, he sighed out of exhaustion, and then gazed at the time. He wasn't late for CoMC, yet. He had to hurry. Running through the students, he pushed them out of his way, and some growled others laughed at Adrastos' antics. Once he arrived, he laid down in the grass, huffing. "Here," he stated, exhausted.

Ricardo had nearly been thrown to the floor by Adrastos when he passed by him, if he wasn't so tall and strong. Facepalming at Adrastos, he shrugged and then ran after him. Once he arrived, he cracked his back and sighed, "Adrastos you're a real piece of work," he sang.

Harry and Ron walked into the clearing, only for Harry to have to point out Professor Carrow did say the lesson wasn't there that day. They ran to the Black Lake so they wouldn't be tardy, and got there even sooner than what they expected. Really, there was like, no other students there. Only Ricky, Adrastos, Kain, Atticus and Malphas. The others would most likely be arriving soon, was what Harry mused before he and Ron took a seat next to Ricky and Adrastos.

Artemis walked towards the black lake, actually thinking of skipping CoMC but when she saw the class was there, she growled under her breath before sitting next to Atticus to get that sense of security back. It was odd. She only felt this safe with Emrys and Atticus but she didn't mind. In fact, she preferred not relying on herself. ''Hey Atticus..Kain.'' She said, giving a small smile to each of them whilst wanting to burrow herself into Atticus' side. In a way, it was pathetic of her to keep wanting to be around Atticus but she couldn't help it. He helped her fall asleep that night and from then on, their bond was quite strong.

Ember wandered to the black lake, getting the note to go there and she waved at Artemis to come sit with her only to be ignored. Watching her sit with Atticus, she sighed and walked over to Ricky, sitting next to him. ''Hey Ricky...Boys.'' She said with a bright smile despite how tired she was. She was also very amused by Adrastos' behavior as he hurried to class.

David was interested to see what Creature the Professor actually brought for this lesson, but he was also a little timid to go.. would the creature really be super dangerous? what if it got lose and terrorized the grounds? David figured that would not happen, so he still went to class. He saw the professor by the black lake, with the class starting to form around him, so David joined them, stand beside Artemis "Hey Snake" He flashed her a smile

Atticus held onto his friend protectively as a gryffindor joined them, "Who's he?" he asked with a small grown.

Artemis leaned into Atticus before seeing David. ''Hello Lion.'' She said slowly before hearing Atticus' growl. ''This is David, Atticus...David, this is Atticus.'' She introduced, fighting her own growl and fighting the urge to say Atticus is mine. Not like it mattered but Artemis was protective and possessive when it came to people she massively cared about.

Mio strolled down the pathway from the castle towards the forbidden forest to where his second care of magical creatures lesson would begin in a few minutes. He was actually looking forward to it quite a lot, as they had talked about seeing a dragon this time in the last lesson.
When he arrived there was already a small group gathering and Mio passed some of his housemates whom he nodded to, before he came to stand next to Artemis and David. "Hey you two." he greeted them with a smile.

David ignored the jealousy in Atticus' voice. He listened to Artemis' introduction, and smiled at Atticus "Nice to meet you Snake" He then turned when he heard his best friend's voice beside him "Hey Mate' He clapped the boy on the back, smiling at him

Ian hurried across the meadow, worried that he might be late for his next lesson, so he was a bit out of breath when he arrived next to his friends. "Thank Merlin..." he panted, "I'm still on time." He shot Artemis, David and Mio a grin and rightened his uniform.

Neville had already been waiting by the lake, as he had almost been late the last time and was now watching the other students arrive. He smiled at Harry, remembering how the other boy had calmed him down last week. "Hi Harry." Neville said quietly in greeting.

Rowan hurried to the lake where the note said their next Care of Magical Creatures class would be held. Upon arrival, she noticed all the usual people from her other classes. Spotting Artemis and Ember, she decided to head over to them. Giving a wave to Artemis and took a seat next to Ember. "Mind if I join you?" she asked with a smile. She was excited about this class and the creature they were going to get to see. Rowan didn't care if they had tons of homework, either. Just having some excitement in class would be worth it.

Harry smiled at Neville and waved at him, and motioned for him to be close to him and Ron. Bruce sent a powerful silencio charm across the shore and everyone sat there, silent. He narrowed his eyes and glared at all the students, before letting a small grin appear on his face. He turned his back to them, leaving people like Kain and Ricky to be asking themselves just what he was gonna do. Waving his wand with impressing speed, the water around the lake began to tremble, and small waves were formed. Suddenly, a huge wave began to form at the back of the lake and it approached quickly. Several students began to cower in fear, however, Malphas stood up and grinned. He knew his dad had everything under control.

Suddenly, the giant wave got pierced through by a gust of wind made by Bruce, and a mushroom shaped flame exited that hole, followed by a gigantic Chinese Fireball dragon. It was 25 feet long and its yellow eyes watched the students. It landed right in front of Bruce, who placed a hand over his smooth scales, and then turned to the students, "Very well, who can tell me, what breed is this dragon?"

Adrastos stared with his mouth open as profesor Carrow made the sea, the fucking sea tremble. Once the dragon flew out of the depths of the lake, Adrastos couldn't help it, WOW! he mouthed. When the dragon 'sat' behind the professor, Adrastos heard Carrow perfectly. Watching the dragon closely, its eyes, fire and color all pointed out to one breed, "Chinese fireball," Adrastos grinned.

As everything fell silent, Rowan quickly took her seat next to Artemis. Her eyes grew very wide when she saw the wave coming towards them and then the magic Professor Carrow worked on it producing a beautiful dragon! She was just about to answer when one of the Gryffindors beat her to the punch. She didn't mind. Rowan was too amazed at the sight of the dragon to really give it much thought.

Mio jumped forward when suddenly the lesson started and the action began. He had never seen a dragon in real life before and was eager to take a good look at it. He really didn't think about any danger at that point.
The creature was magnificent and Mio wished he could actually get close to the dragon which he immediately recognized from one of the books he used to read at home.

Bruce nodded at Moody Jr, and growled once his mind rewinded back to the time where he fought his father and his allies. He quickly shrugged it off, "10 Points to gryffindor," Bruce said and hid back a snarl just in time, "Anyone wanna guess just how long this beast is?" he asked and the dragon let out smoke rings from his nose.

Ricardo instantly threw his arm in the air, "Around 20 or 25 feet long, I trust?" he answered with his own 'question' as he smiled.

David watched as the waves lead towards them, and being the brave little Gryffindor he was, was not showing any signs of fear.. of course inside he was a little frightened at what might pop up. His eyes then widened when the dragon appeared. he smiled, these Animals had fascinated him since he was young.. he dreamed of riding one one day. "wow" he muttered, loud enough so only Mio and maybe Ian and Artemis could hear

Bruce's eyes widened slightly when yet another gryffindor answered his question. And correctly for that matter. "Correct, ten points to gryffindor," by this point Bruce was use to saying that sentence, due to how many times he had already said it only in his class. "Now, someone describe this dragon's appearance...for 20 points," he grinned and was sure everyone'd try to answer that as fast as they could.

David raised his hand and said "Well it has a combination of red,orange,black and white as its color, with a long tail, kinda round head with a mane of some kind, two hind legs, and its wings, which are like a bat's, act as its front legs. Its made up of scales, with spikes on its back" He smiled slightly, his description wasn't the best, but it was good

Bruce began to slowly clap, and once he began to clap with more intensity the Dragon spit fire into the air, and Bruce grinned. "Gryffindor...has gained 20 points," Bruce drawled and expected every single lion to go into a frenzy, but decided to continue, "Very well, now we know the characteristic of the beast's appearance and its name. What about its diet?" Bruce asked afterwards.
