Chilling Discoveries (Katrina, Brianna)

Dellen sighed heavily and looked at her girls, shrugging into her own cloak she placed arm around both so not to splinch them, with a snap they were twisting through time and and space before landing in front of Brianna's childhood home.

Briana closed her eyes as the three of them traveled from their home to a place that she knew immediately. Her jaw went slack as her crystal blue eyes fell on the scorched skeleton that stood where her childhood home used to be. As she took a few steps towards the house, she looked around to be sure this was the right place, and everything else was as it should be. The tip of Briana's shoes rattled something on the concrete path the lead to the steps that took you to the front door. She crouched down and picked up a plank of wood with intricate scroll-work along the edges. She bit her bottom lip as she took one pale hand and brushed the soot from the front already knowing what it would say. As the soot was wiped away, the name YAXLEY was clearly seen. Briana closed her eyes tight and set her jaw, holding the name sign to her chest.

This was her childhood home....

Katrina hoped, for Briana's sake, that they were just busy like she had said. But she kept her mouth shut as they left. She didn't expect the charred remains of a house to be awaiting them when they came out of apparating. This had been where Briana grew up she assumed and to come back to this, to forever have this one memory of your home... Katrina took a step towards her figure and made to lay a hand on her shoulder but stopped halfway, unsure, and let her hand drop. "Briana?' She called softly, anything above a whisper sounding wrong.

Dellen spotted the makeshift memorial before them, and strode over to it to see two photos of Mr. and Mrs. Yaxley she shook her head slowly as it became painfully aparent "So my sources were correct..."

Briana looked over to where Dellen was standing. She stood and walked over to see what she was looking at. She dropped the named plate piece of wood as her hands went to her mouth. Her eyes closed as she shook her head, her hands slowly folding into fists. "No..... It ca-.... It can't be true....." she spoke barely above a whisper.

"How long ago? When?" She asked their mother softly as her eyes took in the photos. Her lips were set in a grim line as she watched the truth painfully settle over Briana.
