Someone new... (Armen)

Sarah was wondering around Diagon Alley, not really looking for something, just killing her free time. One of disadvantages when you are aloner just like her. Even if she partly stayed with muggle world and owned her own laptop in her flat in muggle London, sometimes, she just needed some time off. And this was one of these times. It was night alredy, street was empty and shops were closed. Sarah could clearly see lightnings in distance and feel wind on her cheeks. Everything felt se peaceful.

Armen left the darkness of knocturn alley, flesh eatting slug repellent under his arm, he made his way for the entrance to the alley with the intent on going to the butcher to fetch Kurama a treat. As he made his way down the cobblestone streets he stopped when pale blonde hair caught his eye, he knew that it was the girl from the photo. 

Making a beeline he pulled out his notebook and began to checking things off his list with his head bowed, walking swiftly he slammed right into her knocking her down. "Oh godric i'm sorry!" he sputtered.

Sarah didn't expect this. She actually didn't expect any living thing being outside at this hour. She looked at the man who just knocked her down with suspicion in her eyes. He was quite handsome. Actually very handsome, she must admit. But what he could possibly do outside at this hour? She got up and rather took two staps back from him. "It's okay," she smiled to cover up her nervosity.

He held out his hand helping her up "I'm quite sorry Miss, I was checking my shopping list and wasn't pay attention to where I was going" he said his deep voice lilting with each word. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah, I am fine. I just didn't expect anyone here in this hour," Sarah said nervously and took a good look at that man again. He was very attractive, but Sarah could smell the dark aura that was surrounding him. The lack of danger. Exactly the thing that makes women fall on their knees when they see it, feel it.

"I work over at hogwarts" he said running a hand through his hair "the herbology professor discovered flesh eatting slugs in the gardens so I was running an errand and figured I'd get my wolf a treat" he grinned at and checked his watch. "Listen, I'm not the smallest or softest men, having my stupid ass barell into you must have hurt so let me buy you a drink" he smiled a little broader his eyes offering her a wishful look.

"I-I..." Sarah didn't know what to say. She didn't really want to go. First thing that came on her mind was, that he will surely put something into her drink, but she was also taught to be polite. "Okay, one drink," she agreed in the end and smiled nervously again. She had bad feeling about this. But she had generaly bad feeling about every potential social contact, so it probably didn't count much.

Holding out his arm he led them down to the leaky cauldron "What brings you out so late at night" he said as they entered the pub and he procurred a table for them.

"I don't know really," said Sarah imidiately. And it was truth. "I guess it's because I have nothing else to do. And I found that oncoming storm really fascinating," she added as they sat to the table.

"Not many people love storms" he said with a lopsided grin "I on the other hand love them, I run through the forest during a nice storm" 

As they waited for a server to come take there drink order he relaxed a bit and sighed "What is your name?"

Sarah blushed and looked away for a moment. She didn't really want to share her name, but she alredy agreed to have drink with him, it would be rude not to give him her name. "Sarah. My name is Sarah," she smiled after few seconds. "And what is yours?" she asked.

"Armen" he said shaking her hand "Armen Salander" he purred.

"You are the groundkeeper at Hogwarts, right?" asked Sarah, suddenly feeling a little bit better. He was hired by Dumbledore himself. He most likely couldn't be bad, right?

"Yes i am" he said with a nod "Headmaster hired me during the summer and I only started at the beggining of term"

"Yeah I hear about you. And how do you like the job so far?" she asked more like to avoid question on herself. After all, she couldn't really speak about her job and she didn't really want to speak about her personal life.

"I love it, not many jobs will allow a direwolf to live in lodgings with me" he chuckled "Kurama, my wolf that is and I have grown up together he is my brother. I was searching for a job who would allow him to stay with me, and thankfully i found quite possibly the best one"

"I think it's awesome job. When I was little, I dreamt of it," said Sarah, but she didnt add the fact it was probably because she has nowhere to go home. Hogwarts were her home.

"Why didn't you ever pursue it?" he asked checking his watch again.

"I guess raven in me won. In the end, opportunity of bigger carreer won, I guess," she answered and she didn't lie in this one. When she first got offered to work as unspeakable, she didn't hesitate for a second. And now, she was head of department, what else would someone wish at her position.

He opened his mouth to respond when his watch began to beep "shit' he muttered in the distance he heard a howl then the door opened and a wolf bounded over to the table skidding to a halt and slamming his but onto the floor. 

Kurama wagged his tail making it thumb on the ground and looked between the two with interest. 

Armen was silent for a moment hten burst out laughing "Excuse him Sarah Kurama doesn't like that i left him home for an hour"

Sarah looked completely shocked, not knowing how to respond. "Oh, looks like your friend is really addicted to you," she said and than laughed with Armen.

Kurama sniffed at her hand and pointed his nose "we are almost never apart" he said with a smile as Kurama settled with his head in Armen's lap. 

"Do you have any pets?"

"I had a cat once. We were best friends, never apart. I got her very young and she died from old age few years ago. I didn't find strenght to get new one, because I still feel like every new pet would be just replacement and I think that's unfair, you know?" she answered and realized she is talking too much. She was nervous. "I am sorry, I am not really good at talking with people. I don't really know how to talk to anything actually. Even my flowers died every time I tried to make contact with them. I guess my cat survived only because I never really talked to her, because I didn't need to. I mean, we had silent relatioship, you know? Oh, god, I am doing this again, am I?" she looked at him after this little, super-fast monologue and she blushed again.

Armen chuckled and patted her hand reassuringly "Its not replacing your cat..by giving a new friend a home. Your cat would understand" he said sagely "and your doing fine relax"
"

"It's easy to say," said Sarah and smiled nervously. "But as for the cat, I know she would. It's problem inside me. I would see them as replacement and as long I am not able to accept them as the new friend, not as replacement, I figured out it would be better not to have pet at all, you know?" she explained.
