Can You See the World through a Window? (Violet)

Vincent was having troubles in droves. At the forefront of his mind was his situation with Sophia. Vincent enjoyed hanging out with her, yes, but after Violet's comment a week ago he couldn't stop overanalyzing everything Sophia did. During their chance encounter in Hogsmeade, things had taken a seriously romantic turn, and he wasn't sure that he was entirely comfortable with it. Not that it was entirely practical either, if her spinning into his arms while he was encumbered said anything. He sighed, and climbed onto the unusually wide windowsill to stare out onto the multicolored world beyond. He pulled out his notebook shortly thereafter, and began describing a world where everything was made of rainbowed glass. A soft smile crept onto his face as he did so, the world coming to life behind his eyes. Words were beautiful, and they rarely failed to take his mind off of the unpleasantries of real life.

It had been a few days since Violet had seen the introverted Ravenclaw which she had encountered a while ago and so a smile appeared on her face when she spotted the boy as she walked from her last class through the third floor corridor. Sneaking up to him with a smirk on her lips, the Slytherin appeared behind him, while he was still distracted by a notebook in his lap. “Writing love poems to your new girlfriend?” she asked, snickering softly as she leaned over his shoulder to look at what he was writing. She didn’t catch more than a glance before turning her face back towards the other student with a soft smile. “Sophie didn’t get you into trouble while I was away, did she?” she joked again.

Vincent started, notebook flying a few inches up off his lap. As he shut the book, he regained his composure, only to lose it again once his brain processes her question. "Who, you? Oliver?" he scoffed. "I might as well be dating the whole school as far as Sophia is concerned. She hasn't spoken to me in days. She had a jealous outburst or something. I tried to be tolerant, but you have no idea what I've gone through. Especially after that trip to Hogsmeade. Jeez..." With a flush of color to his cheeks, he realized how immature his own outburst was, but a second later he realized he hardly cared. He needed to get it off his chest, and Violet had this way of opening up people without trying. Or maybe it was just him. Either way, seeing her again was a reprieve in the chaos that had consumed his life, and he was very thankful for that.

Violet snickered at his startled reaction to her sudden presence, but her amusement quickly turned to annoyance and she groaned and rolled her eyes when the Ravenclaw mentioned Sophia. “Seriously, that girl needs to loosen up a bit. She’s kind of obsessive.” She remarked and leaned against the wall next to the windowsill Vincent was sitting on, crossing her arms over her chest. Still, the mention of a guy’s name made her rise her brow in interest. “Oliver? Now who is that?” she asked curiously, never having met the boy before. “Someone from your house? And what happened in Hogsmeade?” Violet felt slightly confused as she hadn’t yet heard anything about it before. “Come on, spill it! I want to know everything!” she poked his side lightly and shot him a playful smile to make him relax a bit.

Oliver. How would he describe Oliver? "He's a Hufflepuff, a year above me. I feel like I have a type, as far as my friends are concerned. But Oliver, he's... He's different, I guess. I rather like him." A small smile crept onto his face, but he knew Violet saw it long before he did. He briefly questioned his choice in friend; she was too perceptive for him sometimes.

"As for Sophia, she got really jealous when I first met Oliver, when she really had no reason to be. She actually yelled at me. I asked her if it was because of you, because I know she's jealous of you. I figured it had just gotten to be too much for her, so I asked. Then she took back whatever apology she'd given me, so I explained myself to her further, and she ran off. I have no idea what happened. Not even a week before that she was all over me, hanging off my arm and being cuddly. Are all girls that complicated?" Vincent exhaled roughly, eyes wide as though trying to locate the answer to his question. It wasn't coming anytime soon, at least not from his limited knowledge.

Violet watched her friend's expressions when he started to talk about his new friend and she had to snicker slightly again when she noticed the little smile which had appeared on his face as he admitted to liking the Hufflepuff. "Aww, now I'm getting all jealous!" she exclaimed playfully, pouting a bit before smiling at him. "No, I'm really happy for you, Vincent. I hope he likes you as well. You deserve only the best of friends!" she told him, meaning every word. Especially in times like these, it was rare to find new friends and even more so, to fall in love and while she didn't know how deep her friend's feelings were, Violet was glad that he had met someone special. It made her think of James, but she quickly shook that thought from her mind. She wanted to be happy today, not upset.

Hearing what had happened at Hogsmeade made Violet laugh again. "Oh god no!" she groaned and shook her head. "Luckily, most girls aren't like that, but I should have warned you. I noticed right away how clingy she was. In her head, she had probably already envisioned your marriage and then first there was me and then Oliver getting in the way and taking your attention off her, so she got pissed off." Violet shrugged. "I don't get it, but some girls are odd like that." Luckily, she had no friends that were that horribly bothersome. Fine, Sithon might be very obsessive as well, but he knew when to take a step back and give her some air to breathe. "Just forget about her, there are enough great people here that won't blow up at you for no reason." she winked at her friend who still seemed quite confused by the whole thing.
