The Truth, Will Out. (Sophie)

Sage crushed the dried roots and dropped them into the cauldron, stirring it three times while listening to Tala's instructions. The seer was barely a woman grown but she was a elder in the Travellers and Sage drank up the woman's lessons when she could have them. Under her careful tutelage she listened to her as she carefully created a poison, she had no need for it but the lesson was something she was grateful for. 

"Dragon's blood Sage" the seer said  and Sage winced, she knew better then to question the woman. Picking up the bottle she did droplets into the cauldron. "Lady Tala, I am due to meet Sophie soon... may i leave?" 

"You can leave when your work is done" the seer snapped firmly, she sat beside the table her hands folded over her cane. Sage nodded and continued working on the potion, using her wand to make the fires hotter. As the potion came to a steady boil and bubbles popped on its surface she snuck a look at her wrist watch. She was almost an entire hour late. 

The second Tala approved of the potion, sage slid from her stool and grabbed her bag. She turned and ran down to the forest surrounding the Traveller's fortresss and slid to a stop as a tree exploded behind her. "SOphie!?" she yelped in shock as the bombardo sent pieces of tree richoteing around the clearing. "Whats got you angry?" she asked then yelped again as she threw herself into a roll to dodge another curse.

Sophie woke up in extremely bad mood that day. She felt full of unexplainable rage more, than usually. She used to calm down after a while, seeing her actions as pointless, sometimes childish. This flow of self-pity was usually followed by painfull headache. But lately, she couldn't snap out of it. She felt angry all the time. And she could tell she experienced blackouts. This wasn't new step father issue anymore, but she still didn't feel like telling anyone. Deep inside, she was terryfied and wanted to cry for help. But her pride and rage always managed to stop her. And so she was waiting for Sage, the only person she did not lie to. And she was waiting much longer, than she was supposed to.

Did Sage leave her too? Did she go to the fortress just to avoid her? To tell everyone? Was she planning to lurk her here just to catch her and make her an experiment? Would anyone even care? Sophie didn't take long to answer these questions and convince herself that her answers could hardly be wrong. The daughter of the queen of manipulation managed to manipulate herself perfectly. Which resulted in her now throwing curses at Sage, driven by anger and rage. "Avoiding me too, huh?! That's all you do! Everyone of you!" she screamed.

Sage dropped into another role to avoid the curses but one caught her in the arm and her skin exploded on the forarm burning and filling her with agony. "S..Sophie" she screamed as she fumbled for her wand, she managed to stop the curse from damaging her further as deep red blood soaked her sleeve and the dirt. She stemmed the flow cursing she dropped to her knees, "I was in a lesson with lady tala! for gods sakes woman!"

Pointing her wand at Sage, Sophie stopped, gaining back her consciousness. What was she doing right now? Did she just hurt her girlfriend? Why? "Sage? I think... I need... help..." she whispered in panic, breathing heavily.

Sage's eyes looked at Sophie with distrust, as she spoke she sighed and her features morphed. "Sophia" she said mastering her anger and pain, she raised a blood soaked hand to brush sophie's wild hair off her face. "I think i know whats wrong." pulling her wand out she used it to clean the wound with a water spell. A circular hole had been blasted at her arm, looking pocked and angry. She took a piece kercheif from her bag and wrapped it around her arm ignoring the pain. 

Cleaned up she sat down with her back to a stone and held out a hand "Come here" as she pulled a book from her bag.

Sophie knew Sage was angry and hurt. Eventhough she hid it well. She looked down, ashamed of herself, feeling the familiar burning sensation in her eyes. She could hardly tell how many times she hid her tears away. She was master in hiding them. She had to be. Taking a few unsure steps towards Sage, she sat down. "I am so sorry," she whispered.

Sage scooted towards her bridging the gap between them. "Its okay" she sai her voice soft but firm she draped an arm around Sophie's shoulder's and kisses her cheek. "Soph...do you remember a few months ago when we were exploring some of the traveller rituals?"

Sophie smiled weakly at Sage's display of affection for her and nodded. It was hard to forget. Sophie was in love with the idea of becoming one of the travellers. She used every moment to study with her mom or with Sage, hoping one day she will be allowed to enter the secret society.

Sage looked at her then back out to the grass covered in scorch marks from her girlfriends rage. "I was doing reserch in the old grimoires. in the travellers library, i think one of the spells triggered something inside of you."

Sophie took a moment to process the information. "Something in me?" she asked finally, trying to hide her sudden fear.

Taking a deep breath the young traveller plunged into the explanation, "Every few generations there is a sort of being that is born. They are called a Chimera, which is a beautiful hybrid of different predators. The rituals we played with, i think they triggered the chimera living inside you. I think you were chosen to be the next keeper of this fatal skill.." she didnt know how to explain it but plunged on "all the evidence points to it."

Sophie listened to her girlfriend's words, lost in thought about such idea. "But how? My bloodline is far away from Travellers. Unfortunately, anyway. How would that be possible?" she asked finally.

"The Potter line is actually reletivley close, two generations ago your great grandfather eloped with a Gaunt woman, they had one son before they died, the son kept his father's name so a few generations later and you were born a potter but you should have been a gaunt." she explained the complicated wizarding family tree. "your more traveller then you arent. I should know."

Sophie shaked her head. "I wish I was. But walls and mirrors are silent to me. I have no traits of Rosier family whatsoever. I feel out of my place most of the time," she said, not really believing this could be truth.

Sighing she opened her back pack and pulled out the shard of a mirror from the head quarters of the travellers. In her hands the mirror shined bright blue and faces flitted past  the glass. The magical mirrors reacted this way to those of traveller blood. 

"Sometimes a witch loses her gifts due to doubting. You are Sophia Gaunt and you will not be afraid." her tone was firm, a demand and a request as she held out the shard to her girlfriend. "take it."

Sophie took the mirror, trying to look selfconfident, but not even Sage and her firm words could make her fill that emptiness and feeling of never fitting in. Mirror showed nothing for it seemed like ages, before a small flash crossed it, making Sophie to shake her head in disbelief. No, that was not really possible.

"Look at me." she commanded her girlfriend "You know i was just avoiding you? Why would do you think i always have you meet me out here. I know no one will see you" she let an easy smirk play on her lips "your just something to be played with"  the words harmed her by saying them but she knew the lies played on sophie's weaknesses and she would become angy, the rage will make themirror glow she prayed.
