Dark Explanations [Morgan]

Sirius sat in the living room, resting his head on the sofa. His body was still sore, even after all the nurses had done to help. No surprises there...James had once more warned him about how dangerous it could be to simply let Bruce train and hurt him, but Sirius simply said he needed it. In fact, he understood what Bruce wanted to do. And accepted it. Didn't mean he had to like the beatings though...

Morgan's mind was a buzz with questions. Things didn't make any sense! Why would the boys want to kill Remus if he turned? How did they know he would? What Remus told her chilled her to the bone. But, why? Lyra believed that she would be albe to bring Remus back if this did happen, but what good is that if they kill him before she got the chance to even try.... She had to talk to Sirius. Even though she was close with James and had grown close to Peter over the summer, Sirius was still the one she was closest to. But, she couldn't get to Sirius....

Moran was lost in her thoughts as she walked through the streets of Hogsmeade. Up ahead, she spotted James. Running to catch up to him, she slowed to a walk to keep pace with him. "James, I'm sorry to bother you on the weekend, but I need your help. I need to talk to Sirius. Can you take me to him, please?" she asked. "Sure," he said as he held out his arm for her to take and with a pop, they were gone...

A second pop, and James and Morgan were at Sirius' door. She gave a small shake to help right her senses before thanking James. Nodded and smiled before excusing himself and apparating back home. Moran took a deep breath and nocked on the door...

(OOC: I have permission from Axel to play James' actions and words for this post, as the thread is focused on Morgan and Sirius.)

Sirius slowly lifted his head of the sofa, glancing at the door. He sighed loudly, before opening it with his wand, placing it on the end table next to the sofa again. "Come in..." he growled, dropping his head on the sofa once again...

Morgan watched as the door opened and she heard Sirius call to come in. She swallowed before entering. He certainly didn't sound like he was in the best of moods, but she needed to talk to him. "Sirius?" she called from the entryway, as she took her coat off.

Sirius glanced over at the door again, watching Morgan take her coat off. "Hey Morgan," he greeted his friend, tilting his head forwards once more. "What's going on?" He asked casually, sighing.

Morgan spotted him in the room straight ahead of her. At his greeting, she managed a small smile and entered the room. "Sirius, what happened?" she asked, her bright eyes falling on the tell-tale signs of what appeared to be a good beating on his exposed flesh. Morgan draped her coat over the back of the sofa and sat sideways next to him, one foot tucked under the knee of the other. What she wanted to talk about could wait....

Sirius took a deep breath, and couldn't help but feel dispirited. At the sound of Morgan's question, Sirius slowly turned his head towards her. "You mean these?" he asked, tracing some of his scratches with his eyes. "Nothing of too much importance. Just got hurt doing something..." he sighed, not even trying to budge a smirk...

"Nothing of too much importance?" Morgan asked, echoing his words. "I hope this....something....it's going to be the death of you...." she said, the concern heavy on her words. She knew better than to push the topic of something like this. Sirius' body language told her to just let it go. Morgan looked at her hands, trying to think of how to bring up what she was really there for. Biting her bottom lip lightly, she raised her eyes to him. "Sirius.... I need to ask...." she stared and stopped. Looking away, she planted both feet on the floor, hand put her fingers together. "Remus told me.... He told me about the vow..... The vow you and the boys made...." she said finally, turning her head to look at him. Morgan's eyes, only a moment ago filled with concern, were now filled with fear and sorrow.

Sirius, at first, remained emotionless. Remus had to tell her. They were right after all. He told Morgan everything. Reason why the vow had to be made... "And...?" he asked, looking at the carpet laid in the floor, as he slowly took out a cigar. A muggle habit Sirius had taken up after Bruce started training him. He lighted it up by placing the tip by a candle nearby, and took a long drag before taking a look at Morgan. "What's the question?" he asked, holding his cigar between his index and middle finger.

Morgan watched as the smoke from Sirius' cigar drifted above him. "Why?" she asked simply. One simple question, even if it was only one word, was filled with the plea of needing to know. She had to know, "Why take him away from me if he gets lost?"

Sirius snorted slightly, glancing at Morgan, showing nothing but emptiness. The topic didn't move him. He now understood James was right all along... "That's not what we vowed to do..." he answered, shaking his head slowly, before taking another drag of his cigar. Remus shouldn't have told her. Especially since he didn't know the full story himself...

"Well, care to explain what you did vow to do then, if it's not killing him should he get lost like you and I did?" Morgan asked firmly. How could Remus not know what the boys planned to do? He told her that if he walked in the darkness, they would kill him.

"We were never lost..." He started, the smoke exiting his mouth as he spoke. "That was just an illusion..." he said, his tone clearly hinting disgust. "An illusion that passed!" he continued, his tone becoming darker and harsher. "We vowed to kill him...were you ever to perish..." he finished, crushing the cigar by clenching his fist around it...

We vowed to kill him...were you ever to perish... Morgan's eyes grew wide. "Why didn't you tell him that?" she said, a hint of her own harshness on the words. "Why make this vow in the first place, Sirius?" she asked, turning to sit as she had been before and tucking a lock of her blonde hair behind her ear.

Sirius sighed slightly, letting the ashes of the cigar fly out of his hand. "He didn't ask for it either. Peter just accidentally told him...if he had asked, we would tell him..." he responded, with a small smirk forming. "Because, we know it'll happen. He says he cares for us... and maybe he does. But he'd just go to Morana...and don't say he wouldn't. If you died, he'd leave. Plain and simple..." he answered. His grin remained on his face, simply because he knew he was right...

"How do you know that?" Morgan asked a little more clipped than she meant to, her brow furrowed. "How can you be so sure that he would just leave you all should I....." she couldn't finish the thought. What Lyra told her echoed in her mind, but even if she was protected on all sides, what was to stop someone from ending her life when the war came to meet them. "You can't possibly know that for certain...." Morgan said looking away.

"Morgan..." He started speaking once more, . "Did he tell you?" he asked, his tone sounding a bit more sadistic. "Did he tell you how he simply looked...as Morana stabbed me? Did your little perfect Remus tell you that?" he asked, clenching his jaw in anger. He hadn't gotten over it. Not yet. He could forgive Morana for what she did. But not Remus...

Her grey-blue eyes snapped to him. "What?" Morgan asked going slack jawed. She shook her head slightly and swallowed. "He never said anything about that. When? When did this happen?" she asked. Disbelief covered her face and filled her eyes. It didn't make sense....

Sirius clenched his fists, ignoring his pain and stepped up. Typical. Morgan and Remus were probably just ignoring everything else. In their own world. Sirius knew it was way too early for the two of them to marry. She didn't even know who he truly was. "Right, as if he'd tell you about his true dark side. He's not perfect. No one is..." Sirius's eye flinched, as he could only think of how Remus described what the marauders had done to him. He didn't seem to worry much about telling Morgan the whole truth. "After I killed my son. He not only let her...but got the raven wolf mark. The mark you and I both share...and you know what that means." he answered with a growl...

Tears brimmed in Morgan's eyes as she listened to Sirius tell about this even that she knew nothing about. She knew that Remus had the same mark that they shared, but it didn't matter. Sirius and Morgan had returned and both stood on the same side. Who was he to say that Remus wouldn't do the same? "You're right, Sirius, no one is perfect. And, I know that Remus is no more perfect then you or I. But, you and I share the mark and look where we are. Remus could do the same," she said, fighting the quiver in her voice. Looking away, she closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them, she said, "He says was Morana says. Not every dark person is evil. Just like not every light person is good." With a sigh, she put her head in her hands, "Do you really think he will leave us? That the only reason he stays is because of me? Why wouldn't he leave me, too, if you are so sure that is his path?"

Sirius nearly chuckled bitterly as Morgan spoke. Love really did blind people. Sirius knew that all too well...But he was never as blind as Morgan seemed to be. "He could. Yet, there's a difference between him and us. You and I, would never let one of our closest friends get nearly killed. We would never simply remain there. Watching. Waiting for it to end, so we could do something. And the best part is, he's not the one who helped me..." he nearly shouted, ripping his shirt apart. His scars were visible, and they still haunted Sirius. Not because of the pain, but because of what Remus did. "Yet, Morana's a psychopath who will kill whomever she wants. Do you think something a person like her says is to be heard? If so, I'm sorry for you!" Sirius shot a hard glare at Morgan, his voice coming out harder and louder with every word. He was sick of all the misunderstandings. How much time would it take for people to get that James was the one who was always right... "You're on our side. He stays here. Go to Morana too, and see what he does. He won't think twice...you can tell me whatever you want. You can love him a lot. But Morgan, remember that...I knew and loved him first!"

Morgan flinched and looked up as Sirius ripped his shirt apart, revealing not just the fresh marks from whatever he had been up to, but the ones she had never noticed before. The one that he was talking about with Remus. Hot, angry, silent tears ran down her cheeks as his words stung her. As she started to tremble with anger, Morgan rose and began to simply move to move, holding herself tight for fear of breaking into a thousand pieces. "I won't go to Morana. I made the promise to you before..... I am on your side and no other. But, for one who loves Remus as much as you say, you have very little faith in his actions...." she snapped at him. Turning her angry eyes on Sirius, she said "So, if you are so sure of what he will do, why put the stipulation of my death into the mix? Wouldn't you rather him stay with you because he wants to, not because of some girl? If he's going to go, I alone won't be able to stop him, Sirius....." Morgan turned away, "I'm not strong enough....."

Sirius growled at her words, his anger rising as his fists clenched. His padfoot eyes came up once more, as he glanced at the girl in front of him. "Considering how he acted before, yes, my faith in his actions has decreased extremely." he said, his tone suddenly seeming calm and collected. That was when Sirius was most dangerous. The wall he had put up to keep his inner beast away had fallen, and Morgan was gonna face his wrath. "You don't understand do you? He wouldn't be with us. He keeps saying he's alone. But that's really his choice. If you weren't with him...what would he be doing now?" he asked, his eyes glowing like a star in the sky at night, "You're not strong at all..." he spat, still calmly, clenching his jaw. "He's possessive of you. And you're not strong enough to save him by yourself. I think it reminds me of a situation. You couldn't save me, and you can't save him. That's just how weak you are...you couldn't even hold on to Rabastan. You aren't strong enough to keep anyone by your side..." He finished, quickly walking past her towards the kitchen. He needed a drink. The only thing that'd stop him from hurting her any further...

Morgan set her jaw as Sirius' onslaught of words beat her. The look in his eye was just like when she lost him. She dropped her eyes as he told her what she had been saying all along: she was weak. As he left the room, she sighed silently. He was right.... She wasn't strong. She lost Sirius because she wasn't strong enough to keep him. She lost Rabastan because she wasn't strong enough to stand by what he was. And, now.... Now, she was going to lose Remus because she wasn't strong enough to keep him where he belonged. She was destined to be.....alone......

Morgan looked around through her tears and pain as her world broke around her. Her grey-blue eyes fell on a mirror hanging across the room. She walked to it and saw herself: weak, fragile, not worth of someone to stand by her. Morgan took out her wand and quietly shattered the mirror. Taking a piece, she sat and leaned against the wall, setting her wand down. Pulling up her sleeve, Morgan looked at the set of marks she made last year. As tears ran down her cheeks, she took the piece of mirror and sunk it deep into her forearm and drew it up. She winced and fought back a cry as the glass turned red and thick trickles of her blood ran down her arm, dripping steadily onto the floor. Almost immediately her fingers began to tingle as she bled heavily from the wound she created. Morgan set the glass down, and rested her hand in the pool of blood forming next to her. "I'm sorry...." was all she whispered as she rested her chin against her chest and closed her eyes.

Sirius entered the kitchen, pulling open a cabinet. He grabbed hold of James's father's whiskey, pulling the cork apart as the cabinet closed. He swiped a glass of the sink, pouring down some whiskey for himself. Deepening the cork into the bottle again, he put it away, and picked up the glass. He added two blocks of ice, to give it a cool taste, as Sirius chugged it down all in one go.

The glass hit the floor, as Sirius stepped into the living room. The wind took the pieces of the glass away, as the boy stepped closer to Morgan. However, he stopped abruptly, feeling as if she deserved that punishment. But how could he think that? He'd be no better than Remus if he just let her get even more hurt. Sirius grabbed hold of his wand, and walked to Morgan, slipping her body into his arms. He dropped her on the sofa, sending a gust of wind to Morgan's arm, so the blood that poured out was thrown away from the open wound. He pressed her skin together, pointing the tip of his wand at her arm. "Vulnera Sanentur!" he whispered the spell Morgan had used to help him during that terrible night. The wound closed, as Sirius sighed. He set his wand in the table at his right, before jogging to the kitchen.

Sirius came back with a wet rag, rubbing it on Morgan's arm slowly whipping the rest of the blood off, before kissing her healed wound and slowly placing her arm back in the sofa. He grabbed a cover, placing it over her, so she could rest for real. He didn't know if she was unconscious already, but still, it'd help her relax at least when she woke up. Sirius got up and sat in an armchair close by, waiting...
