Catching up (Kiara)

Azaria walked through the halls, wondering how they managed to always seem oddly empty. She liked going on random walks around Hogwarts because it gave her time to think. She thought about the events that had happened over the past few weeks. She had actually started making friends, she got a date to the Yule Ball, and she actually enjoyed herself. As she turned a corner, she saw Kiara standing in the hall by herself. She hadn't seen her in a while, so she went up to her and said, "Hey, how have you been?"

Kiara sneezed as Aria approached and she looked at her sheepishly "Hey Aria" she said with a stuffy chuckle. She had gotten a cold of all things after dancing the night away at the ball with Evan, and had woken up again with a sore throat and stuffy nose.

"Good with the exception of this damn cold" She muttered as she took out a tissue to wipe her nose. "Had a blast at the Ball... but probably caught something there" she added with a sigh. Dancing with Evan had been almost magical.. she might have even developed a small crush on him now.. Even though.. she knew it was a bad idea, Evan was dark and could probably hurt her in the future.. but she couldn't help it..

"How about you?" she returned in her cold affected voice.

Azaria listened to Kiara talk about the ball. She was glad that she had had a good time. She was sad to see her best friend sick, but she hoped she would get over it soon. When she asked how she was, Azaria felt like exploding and giving her every single detail of her Yule Ball, but she kept it short. "The ball was simply amazing. I'm sorry I didn't get to meet your date. We just got so caught up with Cian being a champion and all. The night was over before we knew it."

Kiara smiled, glad Azaria had fun at the ball, "I am glad you had fun, ya deserve it, and it is okay.. " she said with a sheepish smile. She wasn't honestly sure the meeting would have gone well given the apparent stuff with blood status and Aria was.. outspoken about that kinda stuff.

"He was a gentlemen throughout the whole thing.. don't get me wrong.. his brother may have made things unpleasant though for you though I don't know.." she could stand up to to others with blood ideals, as she did at the ball. She got the distinct feeling had she been muggleborn the night would have gone different.

Azaria understood what Kiara meant. She had dealt with her blood status ever since she first came to Hogwarts. "I get it. Most of the Wolfclaw students don't seem to handle blood status very well. That's why I was so surprised when Cian asked me," she said. She smiled sweetly at her friend. She didn't want her to think she was angry.

Kiara smiled though still felt guilty for playing chummy with them when she knew their ideals. "I am sure not all of them think that way, like Cian, That or he is half-blood, and he has muggles in his blood to.. Evan seemed alright, he never asked me my blood status.. and said anything against anyone.. it was his brother really" she said sheepish glad Aria wasn't made at her regardless.

" It was a nice night though.. regardless.. it was more fun then I thought it would be, I felt different while in the moment though..." she felt like one of them for a little be bit there.. she felt older to..

"I felt like a different person at the ball" she confessed shyly..

Azaria knew exactly what she meant when she said she felt like a different person at the ball. "I understand. I felt the same way. All my life I've been hiding behind books and paper, but now I've finally made friends and I'm actually happy," she said. She wished she could relive the night over and over again.

Kiara smiled, she had never hidden behind anything before but she could see her friend finally coming out of her Shell it was fascinating to see. " I am Happy for you Aria, I think that is what we are supposed to experience in school; aside from grouchy teachers and lots of homework" she said as she sneezed again.

"Oi.. and germs.." she said sheepishly whipping her face with a tissue.

The young hufflepuff still felt conflicted and guilty though, if she could like someone who felt prejudice against muggleborns what did that make her?..

Azaria smiled. "Exactly," she said. She felt bad for her friend, wondering if there was a bug going around. "Well, I hope you get better soon," she said sweetly.
