Re: Brianna's Room (1,GH)

Celania's frame lay spread belly up along her bed as her chest heaved with a sigh. She had been rude, utterly rude to Brianna and honestly she hadn't cared the slightest bit for her feelings. She was jealous and she had wanted to sink her paws into her mother and drag her back to the safety of her possession. But she knew it could not last forever. Brianna was her new sister. She should treat her as such and quite possibly they could get along. Brianna seemed willing at least.

For the next few chimes Celania gazed up at her ceiling before relunctantly dragging herself off the bed and padding down the hall to Brianna's room. "Brianna," she called knocking once. "I'm coming in." She opened the door without invitation and stayed in the doorway shifting her feet. She had to at least apologise, start her road to accepting that she wasn't the only child in her mothers life. "I'm sorry," she said softly. She refused to look at Brianna and instead gazed at the doors frame.

Briana sat on her bed looking at the gift she wanted to give to Celania as a sort of peace offering. It was something she had done with her sister when she still lived at home. When she heard a knock at the door, she went to answer to allow her sister to come in, but she opened the door anyways. Briana looked up at her as she gazed at the door frame when she spoke, I'm sorry... Briana smiled. Celania was trying to make amends. "Celania, come in please," she requested. She patted the bed next to her, letting Celania know that she wanted her to sit next to her. "I have something for you," she said.

Celania hesitate before stepping over the threshold and sitting beside her on the bed. "For me," she asked furrowing her brows. "You didn't have to." Her voice had gotten even lower than when she first began to speak. She felt increasingly guilty for having been so horrid when Brianna was such a ray of sunshine.

Briana looked at Celania, her crystal blue eyes soft and gentle. "It's nothing really. Here," Briana handed her a NECKLACE. "It's called Dragon's Breath, a fire opal. My sister and I each had one. It was something we gave each other for the first Christmas Holiday I was at Hogwarts. She missed me being around so when I came home, our mother took us to a jeweler and we picked these. Then, Christmas morning, we gave our necklaces to each other. It helped us to remember that even if things change and we aren't always together, we are still family, still sisters," Briana told Celania. It was one of Briana's favorite memories with her little sister. "Since we are sisters now, I'd like you to have that," she said carefully with a smile.

Celania's breath caught as she held the necklace in her hand. She could barely hang onto Brianna's words as she got lost in the gems spectrum. But somehow she did and she looked up at her new sister with wet eyes. "I'm sorry," she said again before throwing her arms around her in a fierce hug. "It's beautiful, thank you." She gave her a genuine smile beneath tears that wanted to spill and brushed her hair aside to clasp the necklace around her neck. After clearing her throat and making sure she wouldn't cry, she spoke. "Is it hard? Do you think about what you gave up all the time?" She asked referring to her human life with her family from before.

Briana wrapped Celania in a hug. She didn't want to squeeze her too tight as she didn't want to hurt her with the strength she now had. "You're forgiven, you're forgiven," she said as she gently stroked the girl's hair. As Celania put the necklace on, Briana smiled. She straightened the stone out and said, "It's suites you." When she was asked about if the choice was hard for her to make and if she missed her family, Briana shifted so one foot was tucked under her other leg and thought about how she would answer Celania. She took a breath and smiled, "I didn't really choose. Mother found me beaten and on the brink of death. I didn't want to die, and she must have seen that in my eyes when I looked at her before I faded into darkness. The next thing I remember, clearly, was being here and changed into what I am now. I am happy for what I have. There are things I miss. Like my family, but I have accepted that I may not see them for a long time. But I will one day," Briana told, reaching out and touching Celania's hair. "I have my new family, and I'm grateful for that," she added softly.

She choked out a giggle. "Gosh you sound so old, vamprism did that to you." She joked before sobering up. "I'm glad to have you as a sister, I've never had one before," she smiled softly. "And I hope the day comes soon, I would love to meet the people you grew up with."

Briana laughed when Katrina called her words old thanks to the vampirism. "You aren't the first one to say that my words are old. My mother used to say it was a sign of an old soul when your words sound like mine do. But, trust me, it's not because I'm a vampire now," she said, giving her sister a playful push. She smiled and her features softened when Katrina said that she would like to meet her family one day. Briana reached out and tucked a piece of her dark hair behind her sister's ear. "I'd like you to meet them. Sadly, you may not ever get to meet my sister. Mira has been missing for a few years now... No one knows what happened. She was just there and gone," Briana said, a touch of sadness touching her voice. She remembered the day when Mira disappeared, and never stopped believing that she was out there somewhere... Alive...

Dellen heard voices from her eldest's room, she paused by the door and a content smile graced her lips. She pushed the door open in time to hear the last few words of Brianna's sentence. "Goodness" she said "I am so happy to see you both together like this..the two people who mean the most to me in the world."

"Mind if i join you?"

Briana's crystal eyes shifted to the door as it opened. She knew their mother had been outside it for a few moments: she heard and smelled her. A smile spread across her face as Dellen commented on how pleased she was that she and Katrina were together, bonding as it were. Briana was pleased, too. While Katrina was much younger than her sister, Mira, but it was nice to have that sisterly person in her life again.

"Of course, Mother. Please come in and join us," she answered her and motioned for her to take the seat in her high backed chair.

Katrina grinned as she was playfully nudged. It was a nice feeling, that of a sister and she wondered how she could have ever been mad to begin with. But at the mention of Briana's missing sister, her brow pulled down in a slight frown. One did not simply vanish. And that thought paved the road for multiple possibilities to fill her head. So was she lost in this that she was startled at the sound of their mother's voice. Yet as soon as she became aware of her she took great care in not meeting her eyes. The girl was embarrassed at how she had acted before. She should have been happy for her mother, she knew how much she had craved a family of her own.

Briana's blue eyes filled with a touch of sadness when Dellen asked about Mira. She nodded, looking away. "Yes. She's been missing and many have given up hope that she's even still alive," she said looking up. "But, there is part of me, however small, that knows she still there. Mira is out there somewhere. I just don't know where..." she said, letting her voice trail off.

A soft smile touched Briana's lips. She was excited to be with this new family, but suddenly her smile faded once again. "Something else bothers me, Mother. I can hope the Mira is still out there, but I haven't received any word from my mum and da in a long while," she said, looking from Katrina to Dellen. "They think I'm doing some extra studies at school, and every week or so, I'd get an owl from them. But, now that I think about it, it's been months since I last heard from them," she added, giving her mother's hand a gentle squeeze.

Dellen frowned her brow creasing in thought, after a few moments of deliberation she got to her feet and using her muggle cell phone she made a few calls. Coming back to the room she said "Girls, get your cloaks and Brianna make sure you have your ring on" her expression was dark and worried as she waited for them to get ready.

Of course the worst case scenarios came to mind and after their mother had come back to the room, her mood considerably darker, well what else were they to think. She frowned slightly as she got up and placed a reassuring hand on Briana's shoulder though she said nothing and she quickly left to grab her cloak, still putting it on as she reentered the room. "You don't think perhaps..." she trailed off and her frown deepened.

Briana noticed her mother's darkened mood as she reentered her room. A pit sank in her stomach as her mind thought of what could have caused this change in her. She immediately went to her dresser and put on the ring she had been given to allow her to walk in the sun. Then Briana grabbed her cloak that was draped over the back of one of her chairs. "No. They must just be busy. I know they had plans of remodeling.... Maybe that's why...." Briana spoke in broken sentences as she tried to find every reason under the sun for the lack of word from her parents as she readied to leave.
