Bloodlines [Carina, PG-13]

Despite the huge amount of warnings that any undesirable person that entered Hogwarts would most likely end up dead, Sirius Black was perhaps one of the exceptions, just like his brother. Because, unlike most of the wizards that had attended Hogwarts, Sirius knew every single corner of the grounds of the school, especially because of the afternoons he spent as padfoot, adopting a much more peaceful way of life when in his dog form.

That night, he had come to visit Carina, to begin her training. Archard had contacted him so they could set up the date, and Sirius had chosen that tuesday... the date he and Luna met on a classroom, and instantly began arguing. The vampire often wondered when the time would be right to reveal to Carina that he was actually her father... but that was something he had to discuss with Luna as well.

Waiting patiently, Sirius took a look at his pocket watch, and the time was exactly midnight, the hour he had told Archard to bring Carina to meet with him. Obviously Archard would only accompany her half the way, and then the girl would meet up with Sirius up ahead, Sirius being very certain that she already knew the forbidden forest better than most.

Carina had slept most of the day, her mind and body preparing for the lesson that would most likely destroy her at the end but she was excited, thinking of the strength she will hold in the future thanks to Sirius Black. Her heart hummed at the memory of the man, having always cared deeply for him and for the Black Family and she owed so much to him and Artemis for looking after her brother and herself. Staring up at Archard, her brother being quiet and serious as always even when she grasped his hand to help step in time with him towards the forests edge, her stomach began to flip with nerves even if she knew the forest like the back of her hand. "Thank you, Archard." She called, knowing he'd wait until she disappeared from view to head back towards the castle and she stepped confidently towards the nearest clearing, to see Sirius standing patiently. "Siri." Carina spoke, her voice cutting through the silence as she took on Artemis' name for Sirius.

Hearing the voice of his daughter Sirius flashed her a grin as he turned around to face her. Holding out his arm with an open palm, a SWORD materialized itself his hand latching around the hilt. Tossing it to Carina, it flew off the sheath the hilt hovering flawlessly and landing on Carina's hand, "Come, 'Ina, attack" he barked.

Carina watched the sword appear, her eyes brightening at the sheer beauty of the blade and was pleasantly surprised when it whistled through the air into her awaiting hand. She spun it flawlessly, testing out the balance and the kind look in her expression disappeared at the words attack, even if the nickname he spoke tugged at her heart and made her want to smile. "With pleasure, Sir." She murmured, thankful for the fog that began to stir thicker at her feet. She kicked the air up, it dancing and swirling around her as she spun and let the blade fall hard down on Sirius' right shoulder in efforts to slice it down to his left hip. Once she did that, she would jump and spin in the air, her foot flicking to kick him in the chest.

Walking out of his cloak Sirius was covered in a bronze ARMOR, which possessed a sharpened horn sticking out of the left shoulder pad. It clashed with the blade, Sirius not moving an inch, and as his little girl aimed a kick at him with incredible speed he caught her by her ankle and threw her away.

Carina almost halted in her path in awe at the beautiful armour, her heart speeding up as he revealed to her what could lie at the end of her training and she hardly noticed the fact her hit didn't effect him at all. Feeling his grip on her ankle, she suddenly was airborne and tried to control the spinning, landing on the floor with one leg tucked in and the other outstretched. There was an obvious skid mark from where the force still moved across the floor after she landed and she snarled, a rumble in her throat just like her adoptive mother and she kicked off the ground, trying to think of something that would at least startle him but he was a vampire. She was a bug compared to him, everything she could do only conjured up the idea that he would simply laugh and throw her across the clearing. Carina was built to withstand that but there was no way she would be able to even make a dent in that armour. As she sprinted towards him, she zigzagged at such speed, that she thanked her small frame for, an she leaped up into the air, her hands landing on his shoulders which allowed her to flip over him and she spun around, the sword going to hit him in the back of the knees.

Sirius stood still as Carina planned her next move, as a vampire he not only moved faster he thought faster as well, anything she was planning he was outdoing in his mind, just like he did to a normal opponent. Once Carina moved to attack him he continued in the same place, almost as if his boots were rooted to the ground. When his daughter attempted to make a move, spinning over him and once again to try and land a hit on his legs, he quickly lifted one of his legs and as the blade spun around, he brought his foot down planting the tip of the sword on the ground, forcing it to penetrate through the moss beneath them. Quickly, he then lifted his other leg all the way up to use his foot to kick Carina in the forehead, so she'd let go of the sword and be once again thrown across the forest, Sirius knowing fully well that there was no way she'd be able to escape his attack due to the speed he possessed.

Carina, as usual, underestimated her opponent and hardly thought of the steps to take after due to her impulsive nature. It would surely be the reason she would die in the battlefield and that was the main reason why she needed Sirius to teach her everything she needed to become a true Warrior, as well as Assassin. She was great with stealth, archery, poisons and dagger work but swords weren't her speciality. Through a few strands of her hair, she witnessed him raise his foot after she tried to aim at his legs and then kick up towards her forehead like she was a simple ant amongst giants. Flying across the forest, she hit a tree and slumped to the floor, finding it hard to suck in air after being winded. Her bones ached, struggling to stand up but she continued to try, gritting her teeth despite the pain rushing through her body. Her sword laid underneath his foot but she reached down to the dagger that she always had in her boot, before grabbing the tree to stand up straight. Whilst she was no match for Sirius, she would keep on fighting. Carina darted forward, dagger facing down towards her body so as she threw her hand up towards his face, the tip would slice across his cheek.

Turning around fully, Sirius watched Carina carefully, wondering if it had been enough to keep his daughter down, but once she got back up pride filled his heart and a smile filled his face, he should have known better than to think his own blood would go down without a real fight. Stepping to the side slowly, he waved his hand the sword rising from the ground his hand gripping the hilt. Extending his free arm all the way forward his open palm stood facing the direction from where Carina was coming, wandlessly throwing the Knockback Jinx towards her, throwing the sword like a tomahawk after the spell, giving her enough time to block the blade and little to no time to try and dodge and the jinx. Extending his now other free arm, he conjured small arrows that flew from the tip of his fingers towards Carina...

Carina noted the smile, seeing that she must've done something right by getting back up and it made her stand taller despite the possible fracturing of some of her bones. She sucked in a breath and forced a wide smile, blood having covered her teeth thanks to biting the side of her mouth when she hit the tree giving her a manic look. Her attack deemed pointless, seeing the wave of a spell get aimed her way and she shot up a shield but at the same time, bent backwards to avoid the sword, feeling the wind of it brush past her nose with a shuddering breath. Small arrows now went towards her and now with her wand in hand, simply blasted them back towards him at an alarming speed but knowing Sirius is a vampire, it would do no harm.

Snapping his fingers he conjured fire with the incendio spell that wrapped itself around each arrow burning it to ash. During the fifty years Sirius spent training, he devoted himself to wandless magic, so he could more easily mix his fighting styles; through that, he was able to dominate most opponents as he quickly changed from melee to ranged spells, in an alarming rate, and being a vampire only helped. "It only gets tougher from now on," he grinned whipping his arm around and summoning the blade back towards him however as Carina stood in the way she'd be stabbed first. The blade cut through the air, whilst Sirius ran forward, in the blink of an eye now in front of her with his arm and palm extended, "Bombarda" he uttered and an explosion void of fire was aimed at Carina.

Carina, as always, was in awe with Sirius' abilities and had to refrain from pausing to watch the fire in fascination. He was incredible and every time he made a move, she became aware of the fact he was training her and she was so incredibly honoured. "Bring it." She murmured, stretching her body despite the cracking in her spine that pained her greatly. Her senses tingled but only too late, feeling the blade stab her through the middle causing blood to spurt from her mouth. "Oh," she whispered and suddenly he was right in front of her, the explosive spell spilling off of his tongue but it only just blasted her away without any fire. She flew across the clearing, pain ripping into her back and stomach and she laid on the floor, trying not to black out from the pain and blood loss. Her eyes narrowed as she stared down at her stomach and forced a blood covered hand through her hair as she tried to stand again but she was shaking too much. "Alarte Ascendare." Carina's mouth barely moved and her wand was hidden in her sleeve, aimed towards Sirius and hoped that in the moment of distraction of her getting up in the process despite her wound, he would be surprised by the spell.

Watching the sword stab Carina for the first time in a long time Sirius felt a trickle of emotion other than anger, watching his daughter be pierced by the sword. His inner self growled wanting to protect her but he instead paid more attention to his brain; the spell hit her afterwards throwing Carina a considerable distance away, giving Sirius some breathing room should she try anything afterwards. His eyes laid on her as she attempted to return to her feet, Sirius knowing it was too much for her to handle, of course she had been stabbed, so if she continued to fight it'd be mostly pointless after a wound like that. His ears suddenly vibrated at the sound of a spell tearing through the leaves on the ground, and he smirked, waving his hand the charm dissolved before getting to him. "I am a vampire hun, I have lots of power ups," he chuckled and suddenly one of his feet was on top of her back his hands on the hilt of the blade as he pulled it out of Carina's body. "That's quite enough, if I let this go on for much longer I won't be able to heal you without turning you," he said leaning down his arm going around her torso, pulling Carina to her feet afterwards, however, holding her still, if she was too weak to stand. Bringing his other arm to his mouth he shred through skin with his fangs then moving his wrist to Carina's mouth so she could drink and heal.

Sirius easily destroyed the charm and as Carina felt the magic fizzle into nothing, she coughed up more blood and she tasted the familiar metallic liquid on her lips. Suddenly, he was above her and the sensation of the blade leaving her body caused her to almost vomit, more blood flooding out of her mouth and the wound. "I may be mortal but I'd still keep fighting until my dying breath." She mumbled honestly, the fierceness surprising her due to the pain rushing through her body and she shrugged off his help, part of her wanting to prove herself and she stood strong with a hand resting on a tree beside her. She found she couldn't stand completely straight, her spine cracking and her broken ribs caused her to wince ever so slightly. She was only slightly distracted by the pain, becoming aware of Sirius' wrist resting against her mouth and she knew it was to heal her. Latching on, having always enjoyed the taste of blood but found a vampire's blood was ever so slightly changed. It didn't take long for her body to start healing but the bones would take a little longer and she pulled away from Sirius, not wanting to drink anymore. "Thank you, Siri. I can't wait to fight you where you don't have to hold back." Carina said honestly, a cheeky smile forming on her lips as she hoped she did her parents proud, them watching over her from wherever they are.
