Like real people do (Ian)

Sophia eventually decided to leave the common room, her guitar in hand. She then made her way to the lake and began playing the strings on her beloved instrument and began singing softly "I had a thought, dear However scary About that night The bugs and the dirt Why were you digging? What did you bury Before those hands pulled me From the earth?" She then continued to play and kept singing the song in her head. She loved this song. She used to listen to it with her mother before she passed.

Ian yawned and rubbed his eyes as he tiredly made his way back to the castle from where he had met a few of his friends to train, far away from the spying eyes of Death Eaters. They always met early, before anyone else was up, but that also resulted in him being constantly ready to fall asleep everywhere he went. The soft sounds of a guitar made him look up and he spied a fellow Hufflepuff by the lake. Walking towards he, Ian recognized a younger girl from his House and nodded towards her in greeting.

Sophia was paying attention to strumming the right chords so she did not see one of her house mates walk by, but the crunch of fallen leaves under his shoes caught her attention and she looked up just in time to catch his nod and she gave him a soft wave and then returned to her playing

A few yards away, Ian stopped and leaned against a tree, facing the lake while he listened to the music not too far away. It was relaxing and he slowly let the tension that still remained in his body after the training run out of his body. Closing his eyes, he enjoyed a cool breeze on his face and the sounds of the guitar.

Sophia finally finished her song and put her guitar away in its case. She zipped up the case and stood up an walked over to her housemate while carrying the case, "Hi. Youre ian right?"

When the music stopped, Ian was slowly pulled out of his thoughts and he looked up at the approaching girl. "Erm ... yes, that's right, though I fear I don't know your name, yet." he said, smiling slightly at her.

"Sophia. Sophia Mckinnon." Sophia sai trying to hide her accent but failing ever so epicly. "Im a 4th year in your house, in case you did not know." Sophia said pushing her hair out of her face

Ian nodded at the girl with a warm smile. "Nice to meet you, Sophia. I must say, that you have a great voice. Very nice to listen to." he told her honestly. Ian couldn't remember seeing her around before, but lately he tried to stick to his own people so that wasn't a big surprise. "Who taught you to play the guitar? Not many wizards and witches can play instruments... it's a rare talent." he continued thoughtfully.

Sophia blushed as he commented on her voice, "Why thank you Monseiur Mortinson. As for who taught me, I taught myself. I wanted to learn something new and decided on the guitar since it is a portable instrument I can take anywhere I decide to go."

"That's great! I'm pretty sure that our house mates would enjoy a little private concert in the common room from time to time." Ian told her with an easy grin. They all usually loved to hang out on the couches in front of the fireplace and having some music would be even more fun. "Do you write your own songs as well?" he asked curiously.

Sophia blushed at the mention of a private concert for him and their housemates, "Im really not that good. I would not wish to embarrass myself." SHe was blushing even more now. When he asked if she wrote her own songs she nodded, "Yeah I do. But I also like to do covers of songs that are already famous and stuff."

"Ah rubbish! You know we all would love it, Sophia!" Ian told her with a wink. There was hardly anyone in Hufflepuff who wouldn't be supportive of someone doing something nice like playing the guitar for them. "That's even better! We should write a Hufflepuff pride song or something. Maybe we can get some other guys into it ... " Ian was getting cheered by the idea of having a song just for their house. He would have to try and get some of their friends involved.

Sophia laughed softly at how joyous and happy he was at the idea of her playing for the house, "Well, if you think so..." When he mentioned a house song she laughed even more "That sounds brilliant."

"Right? I will chat up some of the other Badgers and then we'll get together with a few hot cups of butterbeer and some snacks and then we'll write the coolest house song ever!" He laughed and bumped shoulders with Sophia in a friendly manner. "That will be so much fun! And just imagine the jealous looks from the other houses."

Sophia smiled softly, a bit nervous and embarrassed to be in the situation she would soon be placed into, "What if its stupid though? What if no one likes it..." Sophia asked softly a bit scared

Ian pouted at her and shook his head. "Why wouldn't they like it? I'll convince them, don't worry, they can't say no to me." he told her with a cheeky grin. "Seriously though, don't be so self-conscious. It's all just to lighten the mood a bit here and everyone will appreciate it." he told her, getting more serious again.

Sopha listened and nodded "Youre right. Im sure it will be great." She smiled widely and pushed her blonde hair back behind her ear. "So would you like to go back to the common room or spend more time here?"

"Let's head back, maybe we find some people right away." he agreed and they headed back for the castle.

Sophia smiled and began walking, her guitar on her back. She began running lyrics through her head and smiled softly
