Star light, star bright (James)

Idie went up to the astronomy tower and just stared up at the sky. It was a chill autumn night, so there was a brisk wind. She shivered slightly and wished she had broguth her jacket. She sighed and sat down, still staring at the sky. She missed her brother who had gone AWOL as of lately, she had no idea where he was. She wished he was there with her. Life was so confusing lately and she needed her big brother.

James slipped up the stairs to the Astronomy Tower, his cloak around him over his pajama pants and t-shirt. He had been trying to sleep, but eventually restlessness had gotten the better of him so he had left Gryffindor Tower and made his way to the place that had once been his favourite. He didn't notice the girl until he had stepped out into the room. "Oh," he said quietly, "I'm sorry, I didn't realise anyone was up here.."

Idie looked back and gave him a soft smile, "Its ok. I do not mind the company." She said and pushed her pink hair out of her face. She sighed a bit and continued to look at the stars, wondering where Atticus was.

James would have left if she had asked him to, as he didn't plan on being a bother to her. But when she didn't mind him staying, he took a seat on one of the stone benches and leaned his head back against the wall. "Are you alright?" he asked her quietly, looking up at the stars.

Idie shrugged, "I just miss my brother. He went missin a couple weeks back. I have no idea where he is. Some bitch named Elysium said she killed him. I dont know if its true...."

James frowned as the girl explained what was bothering her. That seemed rather odd, he thought, that her brother had gone missing, but it was totally plausible that he was fine and had just gone away for a while. "Have you spoken to anybody else about this?" he asked, "someone might be able to help you. I'm sure it was all talk about killing him."

Idie shrugged, "Ive talked to lots of people. Asking if they have seen him. I dont know, Atticus wouldnt just up and leave me like that. Ares would kill him..." She sighed once more, missing both of her big brothers.

James sighed and shrugged, not exactly sure what he was supposed to say. It's not like he knew her, or her brother. "Then you wait," he said softly, "there isn't much you can do apart from that. People go missing for many reasons. He may even have just been avoiding you for some reason?" He was pulling possibilities out of thin air, but he didn't know what else to say.

Idie looked at him and frowned, "I dont see why he would do that." She said before turning her head once more to stare at the sky

James laced his fingers together and placed his hands in his lap. He didn't want to make any hint to the fact that he didn't know what the hell this girl expected him to say, but he couldn't help another sigh. "I don't know either," he said like it was obvious, "did the two of you have a fight, or talk about something unusual the last time you spoke? Or he might have just gotten an opportunity to flee and did it. It does no good to play a guessing game, you know?"

"No we didnt talk about anything out of the usual." Idie said thinking about their last conversation a bit. The kiss. The oh so amazing but not allowed kiss

James turned his gaze to the girl and he could tell that she was lying. "Something usual did happen, didn't it?" he asked with a dry smile, "it means nothing to me, but maybe think about what ever it was when you wonder why he might be avoiding you."

Idie frowned a bit and a few tears fell as she nodded, "Yeah i guess he did run away. I didnt know I was so awful as to chase my own brother away from me."

"I'm sure he'll be back," James said softly, "you can't have been that bad." Honestly, he had no idea how bad she could have been. He didn't know a thing about her, but that didn't mean he wouldn't at least try to be at least somewhat comforting. "You shouldn't cry," he added, "just carry on like normal until he comes back."

Idie wiped her falling tears and nodded, "Alright." She nodded and sighed a bit, "Did I catch your name?" She couldnt recall the boys name and she wasnt sure if she had asked it

James smiled slightly, unsure if he should share his name. He would forget her's rather quickly anyway and so he wondered what the point was. But for that same reason, he figured there was no harm, and so he said, "James. My name is James." He pulled his notebook and pen from his pocket and asked, "what's yours?" as he wrote, leaving a space for her name.

Astronomy Tower, October 23, 2048
Her brother is missing. She has been crying. I don't think there is anything to be done about it, but wait. We haven't met before.

"Im Idie. Idie Benton. 6th year Slyhterin. Based on your vibe I am guessing you come from Gryffindor?" She said pushing her hair out her face.

James smiled as he added her name to the page where he had written about her. Then he grinned proudly and said, "yes. I'm a Gryffindor. Fourth year." He had always been proud of his house, as his father had been a Gryffindor. He wouldn't have minded being in Ravenclaw like his mother had been, but he knew he wasn't quite smirk enough for that. "Are you feeling any better?" he asked, offering her a small smile.

Idie looked up at him, and when he smiled, she couldnt help but smile back, "Yeah... yeah I do a tiny bit. Thanks, James. Youre a nice guy." She said smiling at him.She blushed a bit pushing her hair behind her ear

James was glad to hear that she was feeling better, even if only by a small amount. But he realised that his eyes were beginning to sting from a combination of the cold and the late hour. Rubbing a hand over his face, he chuckled and said, "it's getting late, and I really should be getting back to the dormitories." He stood, but hesitated to say, "it was nice to meet you, Idie."

"Yeah I understand. I should return to the Dungeons. Early morning potions and no sleep... not a good combination. Someone could lose their eyebrows or something." She said trying to make him laugh before he left. "Nice meeting you too." She stood and quickly left

James chuckled at the thought of how Snape would react to such an incident, before moving toward the door. He paused to turn his head toward her and say, "your brother will be back, Idie," and then headed back down the stairs. He was looking forward to the warmth of his bed and a good night's sleep.
