Old rivals, old friends. (Inv)

Talos Immorta walked down the dark streets of the small-town...mysterious figures lurked from the crowd, in the crevices and ally ways. Whilst Talos hid in the crowd. Unnoticed, unheard. He blended in. Despite his large physical attributes, the war torn mask with a crucifix's horizontal line providing his eye sight, although it seemed that it was narrowing his sight. It didn't, it allowed him to see nearly 270 degrees, meaning he could partially see behind him. He felt a sudden change in atmosphere, and a familiar presence. He paused.

"Hello Amber"

Amber had not been out of her home since the day that she had been called in to help, along with her father, to find the missing Black. It had not been as hard as she was sure it would have been for some, but everything was still brighter, and clearer, and louder. It wasn't really surprising that she wasn't suffering from insane blood lust or anything, but she was definitely still getting used to it.

Even as she wandered through a group, she wasn't overly phased by them. Until she heard a somewhat familiar voice say her name. She turned, her gaze searching until they landed on someone she wouldn't even miss if they were wrapped in wool. "Talos," she answered, raising an eyebrow, "good to see you're still alive."

Talos turned on his heels and approached her. Ever cautious around her, due to her Vampiric taint he could smell. However, it was stronger than usual. Has she finally been turned... he thought to himself. He paused when he was close enough.
Talos was still armed to the teeth, equipped with a multitude of weaponry, all of them owning silver. He wondered if she could sense that. She hadn't before, but perhaps now she would.

"Are you particularly surprised. It proves rather difficult to kill a Nexian. You, yourself are a testament to that ideal. Are you not? If you weren't, you'd join the others who had died. Nonetheless. It is good to see my oldest rival is still around. Though. I feel like you finally became a full Vampire."

Amber smirked lightly at his word, nodding her head. "I guess," she replied, "though someone almost did not so long ago. Which is why I was turned, you're right." It had been hard for her to deal with the fact that she wasn't even partially human anymore, and the fact that it was all the fault of a crazed man. "I'm glad to see you're still around too, I suppose," she said, "if anyone ends up killing you, I desperately hope it's me."

Talos smiled beneath his mask. A rare occurrence. He tilted his head slightly, before his hands slid into his deep pockets. Despite being older, stronger and faster. His style hadn't changed. Simply because he looked for practical clothing. What he wore was incredibly practical. Especially since he had silver in case Amber decided to try anything. Had it not been for the fact she was a Vampire, Talos often wondered of they'd of been allies or friends. Yet, her Vampiric stance means he cannot trust her. Simply because of his past.

"It must be hard. To lose all humanity. To know that if you fell in love...You would watch them Age. Watch them die. I cannot imagine a worse fate than walking the earth for all eternity. I sincerely feel sorrow and pity for you. As you are now condemned. For all eternity."

Amber noticed his movements, though she didn’t think too much of them. More so, she thought about how she noticed even more now than she had before. It was hard to imagine, even so soon, how it was that she’d been able to get by without being able to notice so much. She couldn’t begin to imagine how it must be for humans. Returning her focus to the young man before her she tilted her head in thought, before sighing. “That may be true, but at least I have my father,” she replied, “he’s going to live forever, too.” It wasn’t a small consolation, either. The man who she had known for only half a decade meant more to her now than any other person on the planet. She had been close with his late wife, as well, but it didn’t quite reach the relationship she had with her father. “I’m sure that will be enough,” she said, “and in any case, if I loved someone enough, would I not make them like me?”

Talos shrugged. He paused to think. Then reacted. "You assume everyone wants immortality. For instance, some see it as a curse, others a blessing. For instance, if I was made into a Vampire, it would ruin me. I cannot stand the idea of roaming the earth for all eternity. One would...lose themself in what they've become. Eventually unable to recognise the mortal that once was." he turned slightly, indicating to the restaurant "I was going to get a drink. Would you care to join me Amber?"

Amber frowned a little, wondering if there was truth to her longtime rival’s words. Of course, she knew that many did not want to live forever, but surely it would be better than dying so young. “My father is a good man, despite millennia on this Earth,” she said thoughtfully, “but that is not something to worry about now. Though, I think much of my naïvety on the subject may be born from having never known human life anyway.” Glancing around, she shrugged and nodded once. “Yes. A drink would be nice,” she replied, starting to walk toward the place he had indicated.

Talos chuckled and pulled a hood over his head. Walking to the near by restaurant. "Your Father, is a bad man who does bad things. Yet, he revently has tried to do good and that is what you have seen. The thing is...everyone is evil from a certain point of view...just depends on how you look at things I guess..." he shrugged and lead the way.

Sometimes, when they spoke like this, Amber almost forgot that she despised Talos Immorta. They were not friends, but they were almost friendly. Then, he would say something that made her so angry she could rip him part. Gritting her teeth, she smiled forcibly and said, “my father.. is a good person. He saved me from my uncle, and he saved me when he could have let me die. He has been good to me when he could have just left me where I was.” Brushing past him, she slipped into the restaurant and said, “you have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Talos shook his head "Your father defended family. Every father would. Especially Grimm's, they love there family. Even so, like I said. Perception is based on context. Context through knowledge...however, I feel like we're going to argue this for ever. So...I'd rather we didn't." he sat at a table and ordered himself a drink, tugging his hood so it hid his mask in a veil of shadows.

Amber rolled her eyes and snorted, a very unladylike thing to do for someone who claimed to be so polite. But Talos definitely brought out the parts of her that she was more ashamed of. “I prefer context through experience,” she said, “and from experience I can say that Hades Grimm is the best person I know.” Did she think her father was faultless? Of course not. She was not delusional, and she knew that one did not live as long as he had without doing bad things at some point in their lives. But he was good to her- caring and sweet in his own way. “Yes, I would rather not argue about it either,” she agreed, asking for a double of whiskey and a glass of O negative, “What have you been doing with yourself since we last spoke after the battle at Hogwarts?”

Talos removed his mask, placing it on the table. His face still perfectly hidden. He raised his glass to his lips. His hands also disappearing in the shadows, showing that he was silently casting magic to cause said shroud. "Tracking down the remains of Templars, Jen Tusken and order members in the CZ. Then I was trying to find out how many kinsman we lost." clearly, he was troubled by those he'd lost.

Amber took the smaller of the two glasses that were placed in front of her and poured its contents into the other. Picking it up, she swirled the liquid until it was combined and took a sip. “I presume you’re doing well enough with that?” she said, her assumption coming from the fact that he wasn’t dead. That was usually a good sign that something was going well, especially in Czechia. “How may have been lost?” she asked, genuinely curious and also glad that they had put the topic of her father behind them. She wasn’t particularly in the mood for a fight.

Talos shrugged at her first question. "I am, so far, 1223 of 2900 Templars have been hunted down, the Jen Tusken are proving more difficult to track down, especially since they are aware we are hunting them in conjunction with the Shadows and Divines, so far, 1367 of 7120 have been hunted." he leaned back slighty. Pulling his mask into his lap, looking down at it before looking up again. "...Too many. Too many Immortas have fallen in the recent battles. Far too many." he said solomnly, the loss of so many clearly affected him. He shook his head slightly. It was rare emotion crept into his voice, however it was clear he was feeling anger and pain at the loss of so many. He had taken up Dragon's old role since there was none to challenge him he took it easily, in Dragon's honour, after all, the man was Talos's metor. He was saddened slighly by his loss, but knew he died honoruably at the hands of his closest friend turned rival.

Thane.

Talos knew his brethern clammered for revenege for such a loss, however he had decided it was time to deal with their forgien enemies and then clear house. He was aware the Nexus had been cracking beneath its own weight. Had Voldemort not intervened and provoked them, they would have kept thier focus inwards. Yet...the hunting and attacking of thier own had made the Nexus stronger than ever, and now, they had focus.

He noticed that he'd gone suddenly quiet and looked at her again. "We will recover. We always do."

Amber hadn’t been aware that there was even that many Jen Tusken to begin with, but she was not surprised that such a number had been caught. She was sure that the number would increase, but at the same time she didn’t really care. There were still so many things that she didn’t really understand, and so she kept them out of her mind. It was an old habit, one that she was trying to break. Ignoring a problem would make it go away, even though she consciously knew that that wasn’t the case. The young woman could hear the emotion as Talos spoke of his fallen kin. She had rarely heard any kind of expression in Talos’ voice, and when she did it was usually hostility or frustration.

Noticing that the man fell into his own thoughts, Amber finished her drink and then made herself more comfortable in the chair. “I don’t understand the whole point of this,” she said, “the war. Even though I was once there, surrounded by people who now worship the ground that the half-man walks on, I cannot grasp their point.” Amber hated war. Not because she was afraid, but rather because she couldn’t find the logic- especially in this one. “Everyone recovers, Talos,” she said, “until they don’t.”
