Lesson Three Empty Lesson Three

Post by Elija Prince Sun May 19, 2013 5:54 pm

A gong announced that the next lesson was about to begin and Elija waved his wand to open the door to his classroom.

He had been brooding over an old book filled with ancient transfiguration spells and he had noted down some intereating facts, still, Elija also noticed some things that could be improved and as he had always wanted to write his own book, this was a good way to start with research.
Now he looked up, to see which students had decided to attend his lesson and he wondered if they had remembered to do their homework.

Scarlett followed up the Grand Staircase, carrying her Transfiguration homework as a bookmark to mark the lesson they were on in her book, A Beginner's Guide to Transfiguration. She got it from the library and was secretly hoping to get a little head start on her fellow first years in the art of Transfiguration. Climbing up the stairs and holding on tight, Scarlett watched as her staircase changed its path to the Transfiguration's class doorway. Arriving shortly after Professor Prince opened his doors to his students, Scarlett went to go take a seat silently toward the front. She was planning not to get involved with any arguments or conversations with anyone, but only to pay close attention this time around.

Ginny entered the Transfiguration classroom for the first time. She knew she might have to catch up. Entering, she saw Rose. She smiled and waved at her. She took a seat in the front also.

Severus walked into the classroom, his bag hanging over his shoulder loosely. Looking around, he walked up to the front and took a seat next to two younger Hufflepuffs. He pulled out his books and quill and leaned back to wait for the lesson to begin.

Hurrying her steps, Selena sprinted down the corridor towards the transfiguration classroom. She had slept too long and her hair was a mess, but she really didn't want to be late either, so she had left it like that and ran out of the Gryffindor common room.
Selena sat down in the last row and sighed in relief that the lesson had not yet started.

Placing her book lightly on the desk, Scarlett opens it up and takes out her homework, re-reading it over before attending to her book. After reread and adding a few more lines to the essay, Scarlett gracefully places her homework on Professor Prince's desk. Returning to her sit, she spotted Ginny enter the classroom. Giving her a slight wave and a welcoming smile, Scarlett watched as Ginny and a Slytherin boy occupied the two chairs next to her.

Morgan made her way to the Transfiguration classroom and, finding she wasn't the last to arrive, took a seat someplace in the middle. She spotted Scarlett and another Hufflepuff girl, Ginny she thought she remembered. She gave them both a wave and a smile. She also noticed Severus sitting near them. If he noticed her, she would give him a way, but she didn't anticipate that he would. Morgan took out her essay and re-read it over one last time. When she was happy with the results, she got up and took it to Professor Prince's desk. She set it down with a smile and returned to her seat. On the way there, she gave Severus a small smile. She then took out her book and supplies and readied herself for the lesson.

Watching as Morgan made her way into the classroom, Scarlett released a welcoming smile. Giving her the same wave as she did Ginny, Scarlett turned around to watch where she would take a sit. Noting mentally that Morgan liked middle sits, Scarlett couldn't help but noticed how Morgan's eyes landed on the boy beside her, before returning to her supplies. Hesitating for a split second Scarlett decided it was okay to try and start a conversation with the boy beside her. Poking him gently on his arm, Scarlett asked, "Do you know, Morgan Prince?"

Ginny waved back at Morgan. She noticed everyone was turning in essays. Probably from last lesson? she thought. She got a bit nervous.

Turning her attention to Ginny, feeling her tense up at her side. "You'll be fine, Ginny... Just tell him why you didn't attend the last lesson and I'm sure he'll understand," Scarlett cooed, "Plus, I didn't attend the last lessons either. I just got the homework from one of the students that did attend the last few classes," she added, her eyes flickering a violet speck in her eyes.

Lesson Three Empty Re: Lesson Three

Post by Severus Snape Sun May 19, 2013 7:07 pm

A confused expression slipped onto Severus' face when a younger Ravenclaw smiled at him; that was not a common occurance at all and he looked at her suspiciously.
Suddenly, one of the hufflepuff girls turned to him and poked his arm. Scowling at her, Severus thought what the child wanted from him, but then she mentioned Morgan and his eyes widened slightly.
So the Ravenclaw was his younger cousin. It had been a while since he had seen her, they had been children then, but since that time his mother had more of less broken up all contact with her family due to his father.
"Hey Morgan..." he smiled slightly back at her, a weird expression on his normally scowling face.

Morgan looked up when Severus spoke to her and returned his smile. She hadn't seen him since they were children, but he still looked like himself. "Hi, Severus. Mind if I move up there next to you?" she asked quietly.

Scarlett smiled sheepishly, seeing that Morgan's appearance had made a smile form upon his face. "So you do know her..." she said to herself, "Everyone deserves to smiles, even the ones that feel nothing is worth smiling for," she whispered, quoting it to him. The quote reminding her of something her grandparents would of said.

Nodding his agreement, Severus pulled back the chair nxt to him. "It's good to see you again, Morgan. It's been a long time. How have you been?" he asked her quietly.
The Hufflepuff's words made him pause and look at her oddly. "Wise words... just sometimes hard to follow." he told her softly.

Morgan grabbed her things and moved to the pulled out seat next to her older cousin. "It has been a long time. I've been..... Well, been as good as can be expected, I guess," she said with a shrug. "What about you?" she asked quietly.

Looking at his hands, Severus shrugged. "I'm glad for you. As for me... I really like Hogwarts, it's a great place and I started to make some good friends lately." he told her. Severus didn't really want to talk about his time at home, especially not in front of the other students here, so he talked about Hogwarts instead, a place that was much more a home than his parent's house ever was.

He inclined his head to Scarlet and said "I'm Severus"

Morgan smiled and nodded. She understood how he felt, even if she didn't know what all had happened at his house since the last time they had seen each other. Morgan didn't really want to talk about her family with so many other ears around. "I'm glad to hear that, Severus. I've started to make some friends, too. Hogwarts really makes me feel at home," she said. She lowered her voice to just above a whisper and said, "More so than my actual home, anyways." She remembered how kind he had been to her when all the others weren't. It really due to most of the family that had driven Morgan to being the shy, timid girl she was. But, slowly she was starting to come out of she shell. "I've missed seeing you. Is the big willow tree still over the lake behind your house?" she asked quietly. That tree held so many memories for her. Many of them included Severus and the fun they used to have there when they were younger.

Severus instantly felt better knowing that there was someone who felt a lot like himself did and thought back on what he remembered about Morgan's family. The typical pureblood people with strong believes about muggles, muggleborns and blood purity.
Yes, he could imagine that it wasn't always easy with those people and he also missed the time when they still could play together and pretend that all was well.
He leaned a bit closer to her, so they wouldn't be overheard. "I know what you mean, Morgan." he smiled when he remembered their time together. "Of course it's still there. It's my favourite place to read in the summer." he admitted softly.

Morgan smiled sweetly when Severus whispered in her ear that he understood. Her blue-grey eyes smiled when he confirmed that the tree was still there. "I miss that tree. We always had such fun there," she said softly with a gentle sigh. She put her elbow on the table and rested her cheek against her hand, remembering those times.

Severus looked around and noticed that their professor was already watching them whisper in his class, so he told Morgan to meet him later by the big tree close to the lake. There they would be able to catch up on old times and talk about everything.

Angel quietly walked in to the classroom, and took a seat next to Ginny. She pulled out a textbook and flipped to a random page, hoping it was the one they were supposed to be on.
