Albus rested on his throne like chair in the middle of the staff table, looking over everyone else. When students looked up at him, he knew most of them felt like he was the king, that he owned Hogwarts in a sense. However he was nothing of sorts, he was just the one who made sure Hogwarts was safe and sound.

Looking over the entire hall, the students spoke amongst themselves, giggling, and gossiping, giving Albus that much time to rise from his throne and to walk to the front of the huge table sat horizontally. Dimming the lights, he cleared his throat, hearing pieces of sentences and whispers all around, "Welcome back to Hogwarts, students, for yet another year," he croaked his old voice seeming as powerful as it was in his prime. "It warms my heart knowing you have all come back with the same excitement you had when you left the school," the candles were suddenly lit up again and the fire erupted making the atmosphere of the room change, along with the music that began. It was a soothing symphony, not yet with words added to the already perfect mixture.

"As usual, you are safe here at Hogwarts, and I believe we will have another year of serenity and adventure, leaving out the incident with the dreadful professor Quirrell, who has now been replaced by our own Professor Gilderoy Lockhart," Dumbledore whipped his tired arm to the side, introducing the professor before quickly moving on. "You may return to your meals, and I bid you all a splendid dinner," he murmured in a high tone, motioning for the music to actually start and the students to attack their food.
