Mistake and Regret (Barty Sr.) Empty Mistake and Regret (Barty Sr.)

Post by Dolores Umbridge Sun Nov 24, 2013 9:51 pm

Dolores sat in the hospital bed, wishing they would allow her to leave. Her newborn daughter lay in a small bed next to her. Dolores couldn't bring herself to show the child any sort of affection, for she hated her. She had always hated children, and when she discovered she was pregnant, she hadn't a clue what she was going to do with the child.

The child was Barty's doing, and he was going to deal with her. Unbridge wasn't going to put her career in jeopardy because of one mistake. This wasn't going to take her off track, she knew that.

Bartemius sat in one of the chairs outside Umbridge's room, tapping his fingers on his knee. He knew what he had done was wrong, but now it was even worse. He didn't expect Dolores to actually get pregnant. And now, the child was born.

Although Christa was not the mother, Barty felt as if it was his responsibility to take care of the child. She was his daughter after all.

Then, a nurse came out, and led Barty into the room. She had no idea Barty was the father, and only thought he was the only one that came to visit Dolores. Once she left the room, Barty cast his gaze at the small child. She slept quietly, and it made Bartemius smile. Although she came from a mistake, she was quite adorable.

Dolores watched quietly as Barty entered. "I didn't think you would come," she said honestly. She expected to have to find him, she didn't think he'd come to her. It made things much easier for her though. "I suppose we should discuss how we are going to deal with her," she said. She didn't plan on leaving with the girl, but she needed to make that clear to him.

Bartemius turned his eyes to Dolores, shaking his head quietly, "She's my daughter...I had to come!", he answered only, before gazing back at the child. ...discuss how we are going to deal with her, was what Barty heard. That was enough for him to understand Dolores wasn't too happy about the child. Well, he didn't care. As he had thought many times, he could always raise her. "How do you want to deal with her?"

Dolores raised her eyebrows slightly. "To be completely honest, I'd rather not deal with her at all," she said. She was surprised at how happy he seemed about the child. After all, it was just a reminder of him cheating on his wife. But that was none of Dolores' business. She was only worried about getting the child out of her custody, and his happiness would make things that much easier.

Bartemius exhaled quickly, glancing at his daughter once more, "Then I shall take her and raise her," he said. He was determined to not make the same mistakes he did with Barty. He was going to pay attention to the girl, and raise her. "She will know you're her mother, but she will grow up with my wife as her true mother." Barty continued, slowly picking the child up from her crib, wrapping her around a blanket. "If you ever find yourself wondering how your daughter is faring, you can speak to me and I shall inform you..," Bartemius exclaimed, holding the still asleep child in his arms.

Dolores was glad that the man was so eager to raise the child. It made her life much easier, as she didn't have any interest in being a part of the child's life. Though she was curious, "And your wife will be okay with this arrangement?" She didn't really care about his wife's feelings, but she couldn't let there be a chance that she would not raise the child and Dolores would be stuck with her.

Bartemius
_________________________________________________

Bartemius cleared his throat, holding the child close. It slept quietly in his arms, as if she understood she was not to interrupt, "It will bring new life to the house, and it'll make her forget Barty for at least some moments. Even if she's not okay with it, this child is getting raised by me, in my house," he answered quickly. That decision wasn't for Christa to make. Barty had a daughter, and he was damn well gonna raise her. No woman would stop him. Not Umbridge, nor his wife. Ivy Crouch was going to be different than Barty Jr. That was the goal Bartemius had when he decided to raise her. Make her different... "Is there anything else? Or can me and my daughter leave you to rest now?" he asked, clearly wanting to leave as soon as possible.
