Poking Around the Castle (Adonis) Empty Poking Around the Castle (Adonis)

Post by Guest Wed Jun 26, 2013 1:03 pm

Leo walked, humming a song he heard on the radio quietly to himself and listening for the echo of his feet hitting the stone floor. He wasn't exactly lost this time, but he did set out with the intention of getting to know the castle better. That didn't change the fact that he still didn't know where he was, but he decided that if he'd done it on purpose, it was 'exploring' and therefore didn't qualify as being lost.

There was humming, a familiar song he'd heard a few days ago, so perhaps he was dreaming. Adonis sat up, pinching his arm to confirm that he was not. Still the humming continued. It wasn't loud, but it carried down the hall with seemingly no effort.

From his nook in the wall, minutes passed before he watched a familiar figure stride by, his voice the source of the music. Leo seemed awfully cheerful, or perhaps that was just the groggy remnants of sleep distorting Adonis's perception.

Staggering to his feet, Adonis made his way over to Leo, trying not to be seen before jumping on his back and giving a very warm "Hello!"

The humming faltered, and so did Leo as a whole. His hands had clumsily flown to his robes in search of his wand before recognizing just who pounced on him. Letting out a weary (but still rather cheerful) breath, Leo slipped out of his captor's grip and grinned.

"Hi Adonis!" Leo's greeting was accompanied by glancing around the hall, "...Where'd you come from?"

"That corner!" Adonis replied enthusiastically, pointing to the place in which he'd been napping. "What brings you all the way out here?"

As he spoke, he dropped from Leo's back and moved around to face his friend. He snatched Leo's wand from his pocket, silently and good-naturedly teasing the Hufflepuff for his inability to grab it earlier.

"I'm exploring," Leo replied in an informative tone, reaching out to take his wand back as he did so.

Adonis wrapped his arm behind his body, hiding the wand from view. "Are you exploring as in my sort of exploring?" He took a few steps back for good measure before continuing, "As in being lost and calling it exploring."

"...Actually, yes" Leo replied, a bit surprised someone shared that of all things in common with him. That in mind, Leo grew increasingly glad he ran into Adonis and a lot less embarrassed, if he even was embarrassed to begin with. Ever excitable, he was quick to invite the Ravenclaw to come along. "You should come!"

If Adonis was understanding Leo's first statement correctly, his question made no sense. "Come where? I thought you were lost." Adonis began to giggle uncontrollably at the idea of the two of them getting lost together. If both of them were already lost, then putting them together to wander around the school would only make things worse.

"..nowhere in particular?" Leo tried with a shrug and a sheepish smile. In his eyes, being lost with somebody else was a lot better than being lost while entirely alone. For the time being, his wand took a backseat...a backseat that was likely to be permanent for quite sometime.

Adonis smiled and agreed with an almost violent nodding of his head. He pocketed Leo's wand, tucking it right beside his own before stepping backwards down the hall. He didn't want to turn his back on his friend for fear that he'd try to give him the slip and regain possession of his wand.

A bit puzzled, Leo's eyebrows drew together. "Are you going to keep walking like that?"

"Should I not?" Adonis chuckled before pretending to trip a little. He laughed even more, then tried to encourage Leo to try it as well.

However, while he was trying to convince his friend, he actually did trip, and landed with a painful thud on the stone. "Ouch." His eyebrows furrowed and his lips turned down. The incident shut up his laughing, but made his face flush red with embarrassment rather than happiness. The new shade was definitely deeper, more of a scarlet color than the rosy one that had just been there, and he really did not like it.

Somehow, Leo was able to offer his hand to his friend despite his laughter. He wasn't laughing before, but after Adonis fell he couldn't stop.

"You might" More laughter, "Run into someone"

Laughing tended to weaken the body, but Adonis didn't know why. What he did know was how to take advantage of it, so he did. Instead of using Leo's hand to pull himself up, he used it to pull his friend down. Both of them went sprawling across the floor, still laughing hysterically. "What like that?"

"No!" Leo squawked in the midst of his laughter, "Not like that, that's bloody revenge"

Their laughter was only amplified by the long hall, and Leo figured that he and Adonis cracking up on the floor like they were was quite a sight. He could care less, really. He rather liked laughing on the floor, and the sillier it looked, the better.

Adonis calmed his laughter just long enough to make a serious face and say, "Take a good hard look at me and tell me if I care. And don't lie to me either Leo Donaghue." He wasn't sure that he would be able to keep this expression long enough for Leo to reply, as it was already becoming painful.

"You care enough to make that face," The Hufflepuff said, trying to reduce his laughter to a smirk but evidently failing.

"Oh, you like it?" Adonis shot back, the flat line of his mouth breaking into a smile. If it were a contest, he had no idea who would win for keeping a straight face, as both of them were failing miserably, and probably equally.

"What makes you say that?" Leo asked, still in the midst of a subdued kind of laughter. The boy began to wonder what made defying your face muscles so difficult.

"I dunno... You commented on my face, so I asked if you liked it. I suppose I was sarcastic, I mean I don't know what else I could be. Didn't think about it before though..." The conversation felt like it took a turn down a more serious pathway, and Adonis really wasn't sure why. They were both still working out a few remaining giggles, but Adonis ran out before Leo did. He straightened out across the stones, absorbing the chill through his back while his eyes fluttered shut and he waited on Leo's reply.

"Oh." Leo said, still nothing less than chirpy. "Well you do have a nice face."

Following suit, Leo fixed his position, occupying one very much like Adonis's. However his differed, mostly in the way he folded his arms behind his head as if he were watching clouds.

"Oh... thank you," Adonis replied, smiling. "You have a nice face too." He wasn't sure what sort of reply he was expecting, so he wasn't sure if he was expecting the compliment or something else. Either way, he didn't entirely mind. If someone thought he looked nice, well, that was always a good thing.

He began assessing Leo, even with his eyes closed. Adonis was rather talented in remembering how a person looked, and usually was entirely precise. It sort of came with the peculiar trait of cannibalism. The mental image he conjured up matched what lie next to him perfectly, or so he thought. Adonis opened his eyes to verify his accuracy, and was a little surprised to have remembered a rather important feature mistakenly.

"You have nice skin," he said aloud, even though it was supposed to be a realization that stayed inside his head. He blushed deeply, possibly deeper than he had earlier, although that was doubtful. His eyes clamped shut so as to avoid having to see the answering expression on the Hufflepuff's face.

"Thanks! You do too." Somehow his response came out more cheerful than it did flattered, Leo wasn't really sure how. He was glad Adonis shut his eyes though, because Leo's cheeks were a vibrant shade of red and that was not so nice. On the other hand, Adonis was quite possibly, better than a mirror.

A replicated compliment was definitely not what Adonis was expecting. He was expecting a simple awkward silence, which would wear off after a little while. His eyes shot open as quick as his body moved into a sitting position, and he stared down and the flustered face of his friend. Adonis could guarantee that they looked identical in the way of expressions right now, both with embarrassed looks in their eyes and bizarre paints showing under their skin. He was also trying to reply normally but, knowing he was failing, his blush simply deepened as he said, "Thank you?"

Leo opened one eye, just as unsure as his friend, "You're welcome?"

He was relieved to find that Adonis was just as red as him, and Leo couldn't figure out why that was comforting-- it just was. The following seconds asked the question: 'What next?' to which Leo didn't know the answer exactly, but he decided it best to wait on the Ravenclaw's actions.
