Kitchen (1,GH)

As the sun wrose slowly, shedding light into the green house kitchen the owner had lovingly built, dellen sang as she cooked breakfast for herself and her daughter.

She scrambled the eggs and fried some slices of ham, gathering from the baskets of plants some fresh tomatoes she warmed them in the skillet with olive oil and mushrooms.

The coffee maker perculated and she set the little island in the kitchen for breakfast, lying out the delicious meal and a cup of apple juice to go with it.

Her voice rang out softly as she began to clean up the smells of fresh food filling the entire house.

The smell of food wafted through the house, rousing her from sleep. Barely awake Celania stretched her arms above her head and swung her feet out of the bed. She followed the heavenly scents down the stairs and into the kitchen, catching the ending snippets of a song. "Good morning," she said sleep still evident in her voice. She was now near the source of the smell and it caused her stomach to rumble as she took sight of the meal her mother had made. Celania sat on a stool on the opposite side of the counter. She rubbed her eyes and laid her head down. "What were you singing? It was nice."

Dellen smiled as her daughter wandered into the room "something my mother used to sing as she did needlework" she said her usually dark voice allowing her soft irish brogue to come through. Sitting down across from her she lifted a glass of blood to her lips and drank deeply before exchanging the liquid for her love of coffee.

Every move she made was slow as she dragged the plate towards herself and empaled the food on her fork. The first bite was delicious even if the meal itself was relatively simple. She only spared the glass of blood a passing glance as she swallowed her food. "What was she like, your mother?"

"She was a beautiful kind women, i wish when I was a child that we had cameras so i could show you what she looked like, she dissapproved of many things I did such as horse back ride or learn to fight with my brothers but in the end she loved me and I her, growing up my parents were a lord and a lady, there position of power was a blessing and curse but no matter her stress she still had time for all the little things" Dellen smiled as she took a bite of her own breakfast "I do miss her...."

Celania smiled around the fork in her mouth, imagining her. "She sounds like the perfect mother. If we ever get the chance, you could always show me in a pensieve." She pushed the food around on her plate. "I would have liked to meet her. Perhaps we would've clicked like you and I. Though I'm not sure she would approve of my table manners." Celania smiled the picture of innocence and flicked a bit of egg off her fork towards her mother.

Dellen laughed and caught the egg in her mouth "she didn't approve of mine either, and that is very true i could show you" she said thoughtfully sipping at her coffee she then put some salt on a tomatoe and ate it "You know it was the year nine hundred sixty six when I was fourteen and wolfclaw was founded" she said "I was in the first class"

"The Wolfclaw Academy? The one with secrets practically unknown? You went there? In the first class," she asked slightly bewildered. "I'll never get used to your age," she murmured to herself. "What was it like? I mean everyone's heard rumours but we don't know for sure. I wonder how much it's changed since you went there." Another question arose. "But then how did you end up at Hogwarts?"

"Wolfclaw is a besutiful castle nestled in the mountains we rode horses to a secret cavern that too us to the castle, we all learn the secrets all of us....i was in Wolfen house which is like a cross between gryffindor and slytherin. But master salazar was cross when people made those likenesses" she laughed softly "It hasn't changed much..she would have seen to that" she lost herself to her thoughts before the last question caught her attention "well usually hogwarts does not take transfers but after i was turned into a vampire I was allowed to attend when i learned to control my compulsions. As a vampire we can change our appearence even our age, " as she spoke her body changed ever so slightly her face became younger in appearence and her frame slightened, her hair shortened and she smiled at her daughter now a sixteen year old dellen sat before her.

Her head was supported by her hands as she listened. "You knew Salazar Slytherin? Of course you did." Nothing should have surprised her by now but of course it did. "But why did you transfer?" Her question had trailed off at the end as the transformation took place in front of her. Celania sucked in a sharp breath and stared at her mother with wide eyes. "You... but...that's not..." She held a hand to her forehead and continued to stare. She laughed slightly, "Anything's possibly huh?" Getting over her initial shock somewhat she cracked a grin. "So this is what you looked like. Well bloody hell mum, how did you keep the guys away?" She said laughing.

She laughed as she allowed herself to return to her much more preffered form as a older woman with a hint of greying hair that made her appear as a ageless beauty "WHen you are a vampire at my age my sweet girl anything is possible...and as for men well there were a few but i had a friend a best friend and for a time she was my lover" she said

"and I decided to return to school to learn more I went to hogwarts over and over again same as I did with wolfclaw I graduated many times, I even was classmates with Albus dumbledore for two years before I left and returned to be a professor to the man"

She didn't take her eyes off of her as she shifted back to the woman she was used to seeing. Celania gazed at her curiously, wondering about her best friend. She could ask another time, they had lots of it. As her mother spoke, she got up and gathered the dishes to wash. Glancing back at her from the task at hand, she whistled low. "How can you manage that much of school? I wouldn't even go once if I ha a choice, let alone lifetimes over." She raised a brow and scrubbed at her plate. "So headmaster knows then? You two must be good friends."

"All of the professors know really In the last century i've slowly came out of the coffin if you will, i just kept it quiet for students sakes but at this point I am your defense against the dark arts professor I shall do as I please" she smirked and watched her wash the dishes drinking a large swig of blood. "Albus and I are friends but he likes to be all formal sometimes, silly boy" she said with a laugh.

"Would you like to go to Czechia some day? See marvolo and morana? there new mother is deputy headmistress of wolfclaw, she and her girlfriend are so lovely it would be a nice trip. I would also like to take you to ireland just us too, to explore and show you where I came from"

She laughed and turned off the tap. "We all know of your devil may care attitude." She dried her hands and retook her seat. "I feel bad for my classmates sometimes, especially the first years," she grinned. "Really? I would have thought he'd be more...relaxed," she said taking a moment to find the word. "With you."

Her face broke out in a wide grin and she nodded. "Of course I would! I wouldn't expect anything less of them, being adopted by someone like her," she shook her head with an affectionate smile. "Oh, they must be there now then," she realised. "Hmm, wonder what mischief they've gotten into there." Then her mother proposed going to her homeland. "Really? You would take me?" There was a permanent smile on her face at the prospect of getting that much closer to her. "That sounds great."

"I've seen the world love, did you know there is a school in japan? we could even visit i'm sure my old friend the headmaster wouldn't mind. He was a good student, theres so much I can show you and teach you and the best part is we have forever to do it" she got up from the chair and stretched "you know we both are on vacation we could go to ireland soon if you want"

"A school in Japan and I'm just hearing of this?" She was learning so many things today. And the opportunity to learn who knew how much more with her by her side. "Of course I want to," she exclaimed. "It doesn't even require thinking really."

Finishing off her coffee she poured another cup and nodded "we can leave in two days time, i just need to owl the inn i usually stay at and go into muggle london for a few things we will need but since I can apparate there its a no brainer"

She placed her hands on the table and stood up. "It's settled then, we're going to Ireland." She hummed a merry tune and started to leave the kitchen to pack. She was well aware she had time but she was too excited to care. "Oh!" She turned back and ran up to her mum and placed a kiss on her cheek. "Thanks, she didn't say for what and ran upstairs.
