Look at the one who loves you (open)

"Leave me alone!" Elisabetta shouted, finally managing to get away from Dmitri, who had just tried to pull her into a broom closet. "I've had it with you! I hate you!" She ran, tears flowing down her face, into the Transfiguration Courtyard, where she sat on a bench and placed her head in her hands. The day could not have gotten much worse...it had actually started off fine until lunchtime, and then...then it had turned sour. Dmitri had made all sorts of lewd remards across the Great Hall at her, and now he had just tried to make her visit a closet. She wished he would go back to Russia and live with his uncle Anatoly since he was obviously so much like him. She wished...oh, she didn't know what else she wished for. She just wanted to be far away from this creep.

Kail, who had had his nose in a book for the past hour, heard a scream and looked up to see from whom it had come from. It had come from Elisabetta, who was rushing away from none other than Dmitri Kuranov.

"Betts?" he called, throwing down his book and running after her. "Betta! Wait! What happened? What did he do?" He sat down beside her. "Is it Dmitri again? What happened?"

Kail put a hand on Betta's shoulder as she choked out her reply. He felt his anger rise, but managed to control it. "Do you want to go see the Headmaster?" he queried, pushing her hair out of her face. "Or another teacher? He can't get away with it, love. I won't let him."

Betta looked at Kail, her eyes red. "Nothing...nothing hap-happened..." she choked, then shook her head. "It's Dmitri...he doesn't know when to stop! He just--just...Merlin, he's crazy! Everywhere I go in this bloody school, there he is, somewhere near to me. And classes are the worst. Whenever I answer a question, he's always making some smart remark back to me. It never ends, Kail. I thought maybe a teacher would have caught on to his ways, but they haven't, and it's so frustrating!"

Kail muttered several curses to himself. "Kuranov. Figures." he said quietly. "Betts, you won't have to worry about him any more. I'm going to see what I can do about it. Even if it means going straight to the Headmaster and telling him what's going on, this is going to stop." At her puzzled gaze, he put a hand gently on her shoulder. "I don't care what anyone else has said about you, Betts. You don't deserve being treated the way that jerk is treating you. If he does or says anything to you again, I'll take care of it personally. That's a promise."
