Run in with a fellow teacher (Ivy) Empty Run in with a fellow teacher (Ivy)

Missy rubbed her temples and took a deep breath as the first year students filed out of the greenhouse, chattering quietly amongst themselves. She had spent a long time wanting to be a teacher, but more often than not, she was reconsidering her career choices. While she tried her best not to take points from students for the sake of it, there were some students that she just wanted to hold down in the water trough.

She walked down the centre table, picking up stray equipment and books to return to the shelves. She could have made of a point of making the students put them back, but the sooner she finished the lesson, the sooner she could get them out of her classroom. Some times she thought back to her days in Potions class, being a not so innocent sixth year, and thinking not so innocent thoughts about Snape while he sneered and insulted his students, barking at them to clean up after themselves. The year the curse had been cast had been her first back at Hogwarts since graduating, a newly trained teacher ready to take on the world (or at least to take on rowdy teenagers), and remembering Snape still got her hot and bothered. He was the only man that hadn't tripped over himself at the sight of her, and being ignored by him just made her want him more.

A sudden ear rupturing bang snapped Missy out of her day dream, which was followed by the sound of shattering glass, and she scowled as stooped down to pick up the books she had dropped. Placing the stack of books on the table, she investigated the culprit of the disruption and found a scorch mark in one of her storage cupboards, with the glass front of the doors scattered on the stone floor. "I swear, if I ever see a Weasley, I'm going to throttle them for mere association," she muttered under her breath, flicking her wand and watching as the shards of glass flew back into place.

Missy?” Ivy called as she approached the greenhouses, having shooed away a small group of frolicking boys with an intense glare. She’d been in her classroom, setting up for her lessons the following day, when she realised that she would need Venomus Tentacula for the Seventh Year’s lesson. She was looking forward to it in particular, because she would be having them go through an obstacle course, with a number of items laying around and various threats to their wellbeing in their way. The tricky thing was they would need to use only Transfiguring spells to be able to get the marks. She didn’t know if she would be happier to see the students succeed, or to see them fail.

Stepping into the greenhouse, she took in the haphazard state of the place and raised an eyebrow. “First years?” she asked knowingly, dragging her gaze to the red-headed woman. Ivy had known Missy prior to the curse taking hold, of course, but she didn’t know her very well. Passing words at the staff table in the Great Hall, but little more. “Are you busy?” she asked, “other than cleaning up after students, of course.” Honestly, the woman didn’t care all too much, as she did need to plants that she was seeking, but she still liked to at least put up the pretense of politeness. As she spoke, she began to tidy the room as well, knowing how much of a pain it could be to clean up after students who were too focused on trying not to completely fail to actually keep a handle on their mess.

Missy looked up and saw Ivy, the Transfiguration professor, glancing around at the remnants of the mess. "How could you tell?" She replied sarcastically with a slight smile. She didnt often speak with the other teachers as she tended to get on the wrong side of them. Not on purpose, mind you. It just seemed to be an unfortunate gift. After dusting off the dirt from her apron, she picked up the stack of books she had placed on the table behind her, and placed them back on the bookshelf.

"Story of my life," she said with a sigh, turning back to Ivy. "Never too busy for a fellow teacher. What brings you into my neck of the woods, Professor?" She studied the witch, her politeness not going unnoticed. Despite spending her life trying to convince people otherwise, Missy actually did like people. They just usually didnt like her. Well, that wasnt true. Women usually didnt like her. Men liked her whether she wanted them to or not. She had brought it upon herself though. While as a teenager she was often the victim of being a scapegoat, since graduating Hogwarts she embraced the accusations that had been thrown at her. Thus was born the sarcastic, sassy bitch that was Missy McKeown.
