Rather being in his usual hiding spot, Darcy opted to go to the library instead just so he could study some and try to not make a fool out of himself. He had only realized recently, with the help of Ian, that it happened to be a very dark time; one of his fears was dying young, he didn't want to die before he even had the chance to prove himself in some way or another. He sighed as he looked through the many shelves of books that surrounded him until he grabbed one that caught his eye about various creatures. Darcy always found species outside of the norms to be interesting whether fictional or not as it allowed him to dream to be in a different universe surrounded by such beings. Was it just a way of coping outside of his pet-friend spider he found in the dungeons? That, he didn't know, but feeling satisfied, he walked over to a table and sat down looking up to see another person. "Um, h-h-hi," Darcy began to say in a whisper, "Is it o-oh-okay if I sit here..?"

The library might have been the natural home of the Ravenclaws but the same couldn’t really be said for a certain third year Hufflepuff. Elvorix was fond of books but he had avoided the place ever since a packet of exploding snap cards had fallen out of his bag back in his first year. The noise had been horrendous and it had earned him the scolding of a lifetime from Madam Pince. He could still remember the black look on the librarian’s face, eyes flashing and resembling an underfed vulture even more than usual, and was not keen to repeat the experience. Instead he took his homework outside whenever it was warm enough. The thick walls of the castle could be stifling to someone who had spent most of his childhood outside roaming the hills. However, it was very cold, so that wasn't an option.

Elvorix  had arrived in the Library at half-nine that morning with the intent to finish his Transfiguration essay. He had done about half before getting distracted, a book on Magical Theory somehow falling under his hand and then open to a particularly vexing set calculations that while complex did not seem quite correct. The Transfiguration essay could wait, after all, it was not due till Monday.

The Hufflepuff sat reading the textbook until another one of his house mates arrived. "Sure.", he said to the other, flashing a polite smile.
