Flying Lesson 1

Post by Medusa Savage on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:06 pm

"What a farce!" Medusa growled to one of her colleagues while they made their way out of the great hall. How were they supposed to start up with their classes with students that faced each other on the battle field not even weeks ago? "I will not be responsible if they kill each other on the pitch." she muttered, her annoyance quite obvious in the scrowl she wore on her pale face. After saluting the other professor, Medusa pushed through the doors in the entrance hall and quickly marched towards the quidditch pitch, wanting to be there before the students started to arrive in case there would be trouble. Leaning against one of the large goal posts, she waited for her class with her arms crossed in front of her chest.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Tatsu Savage on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:13 pm

Tatsu was one of the first students that arrived at the pitch, her broom shouldered and her wand in her hand. After the battle, she would not let anyone sneak up to her, especially with all the Death Eater children running around here. You could never be too careful. That's what her father had taught her. Not that it helped him much, seeing as he had been killed by them. She snarled angrily, the pain of her father's loss still cutting deep, but as always she tried to swallow it up and act strong. She was just glad that her mother was still alive and kicking ass as always. And now, Tatsu was even glad that her mum was working at Hogwarts. It had become quite important to her to keep her loved ones close. "Hey mum!" she greeted, receiving a small nod from the woman.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Nyx Mulciber on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:29 pm

"Good morning, Professor Savage." Nyx greeted politely, standing next to her friends. Unlike the other two girls, she felt much more at ease, but then again, she did not have to fear death eaters attacking her at any moment. To be honest, she as quite glad that the Dark Lord had come forward yet. He seemed rather busy with ruling their world it seemed, she thought sardonically. And the new starting term would help to bring some normality back into their life. At least to some extent.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Violet Snape on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:29 pm

Violet had come to the lesson with Tatsu and Nyx, her whole body posture screaming "uncomfortable!" and she was! After the welcoming feast which had been much less cheerful than usual, she had felt even more depressed than before. So many people had been missing. And she hadn't even been able to fool herself into thinking that they might be just late because she had seen their dead bodies covering the battle grounds. She still remembered James' dead empty eyes, but back then it had been Ian's place to cry about him. Violet had cried in private, much later. In her tent where they had been hiding for a while. She had cried for her mother, for her friends' losses, for James and for all the other dead people that had died fighting for their safety.

Standing close to Tatsu, she linked their arms and leaned against the older girl. She still didn't know how to deal with the knowledge that Nyx' family supported the man that had caused this much destruction, but they were still friends and Nyx had not hurt anyone she cared for, so for now she would remain a friend. Looking up at the other Slytherin, she sighed before burying her face in Tatsu's side again.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Guest on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:38 pm

Luna was an avid quidditch fan, but she was not the best flyer. She was not the best at sports in general, preferring to paint and sing or read. And yet, she was walking towards the quidditch pitch together with her friends. The reason was simple. She wanted to see how their first lesson of the year would go. Many things had changed since their last normal lesson and during their last year there had been so much chaos that they barely had managed to learn anything. Luna smiled slightly when she noticed her teacher's annoyed expression. Some things just never changed and it was good to see a Professor that she knew was on their side.

Post by Neville Longbottom on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:44 pm

Neville walked next to Luna, carrying both of their brooms towards the pitch where some other students were already waiting. Over the past few months he had become quite protective of the younger Ravenclaw and he had learned to love her as a friend and respect her as a witch. He nodded at Violet and Tatsu, shooting a suspicious glance at Nyx, not quite knowing what to think of her. She couldn't be trusted and he did not like his friend's little sister hanging out with her. Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do about it, but he hoped that Violet knew what she was doing.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Ian Mortinson on Wed Aug 12, 2015 4:49 pm

It was quite unnerving to be back at Hogwarts which was now under Voldemort's control, but they didn't have a choice. Their families and friends would suffer if they had not returned and when Ian looked over to Neville, he could see that his friend wasn't feeling comfortable here either. He had wanted to stay at the camp, make plans for how to defeat Voldemort and his army of Death Eaters, but the thought of anyone else he loved dying was too hard to ignore, so here he was, with his broom in hand, standing next to his friends, ready to jump back into fighting mode if he had to. The tension around them was almost palpable and he one look at his professor told him that their teacher was quite aware of the situation.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Thanatos Mulciber on Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:30 am

When Thanatos joined the other students at the pitch, he seemed more subdued than usual, but his mind was still on their Lord and how to deal with the loss of faith in the man which he had suffered after the battle. Maybe it was more hurt pride, for not being recognized for his fighting during the battle, but he was not used to being ignored and so his hopes of using the Dark lord to advance in life quickly were destroyed and left him with nothing but doubt.

Thanatos glared Neville who was shooting Nyx suspicious glances. Damn those stupid Gryffindors and their self-righteousness. They always thought that only people that agreed with their beliefs were right and everyone else was evil. Well it wasn’t so fucking simple! Thanatos was just trying to fit in and do what was expected from the heir of an old pureblood family. With a snarl, he stood next to his sister and tried to ignore the other students.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Sithon Macnair on Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:33 am

Sithon was utterly oblivious to the tension that surrounded the other students like a thick blanket. Instead he bounced over to his friend and snuck his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her shoulder. “Greetings, sweet maiden!” he crooned into her ear, his mouth twisting into a wide and slightly manic grin. The war had left him completely unfazed and although he had lost his father in the battle, at least this annoying Gryffindor boy had been killed off as well. And he didn’t even have to do it himself! Some stupid death eater had done the job for him.

But Sithon had done an excellent job of faking empathy afterwards, when Violet had sobbed into his shoulder about the loss of one James Mortinson. Admittedly, it had been quite annoying to listen to her go on and on about how great he had been, but Sithon had managed not to vomit. A little sniffling here and a little “Oh, I’m so sorry.” And she had the impression that he too was sad about James’ death. People were so easily to fool, he had thought, fighting hard not to snicker which would have destroyed his good acting of understanding friend.

Now though, all that was past them and they could finally return to normal, or what was normal for him. He grinned over to Tatsu and Nyx who both seemed lost in their own thoughts and so he just shrugged and started to nuzzle his friend’s neck.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Endymion Snape on Thu Aug 13, 2015 8:37 am

Mio approached the pitch with long strides, his dark eyes immediately seeking out his friends, checking their surroundings for anyone who might cause them harm. He noticed the Mulciber siblings close, standing next to his younger sister and his eyes narrowed, a low angry growl rising deep in his throat. They better not step out of line; otherwise he would tear them to shreds without the slightest pause. He had lost enough people in the past few weeks.

Taking a stand next to Ian and Neville, he met the Slytherin boy’s eyes and the glare he sent Thanatos made his thoughts quite clear. They shouldn’t be here. None of them should, but they were forced together by Voldemort without the option of leaving before the end of term. Mio nodded towards his professor, respectfully as he had seen her fight on their side as well. It was quite comforting to have some adults around that they could count on while the rest of the order worked on a plan.

Post by Idie Benton on Sun Aug 16, 2015 8:36 pm

Idie walked onto the pitch with a nervous look on her face. She bit her lip and looked around hoping Atticus was there. But alas, he was not. She had not really seen much of her big brother since that day outside of the great hall. A bright red blush spread across her cheeks at the thought of that day. That amazing wonderful day that she couldnt get off her mind. She shook her head, as if trying to shake the thought away and proceeded to the court. SHe smiled at a few people, such as Endymion, Ian, and Luna.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Rachel Snape on Tue Aug 18, 2015 4:00 pm

Rachel sighed as she made her way to flying lessons. She didn't say anything, she just wanted to go through the lessons. Flying was one of her favorites and she would love to fly around and feel the wind through her hair. She kept herself at the back of the group, she did see her brother and her twin but had no intention nor the mood to say hi.
Rachel yawned, she barely slept. She leaned on her broomstick feeling the tension in the air.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Medusa Savage on Sun Aug 30, 2015 8:49 am

As she watched the students approach her and settle into a small circle around her, Medusa was satisfied to see most of them keeping their shit together. There was nothing she hated more than childish drama and the glare that two students sent at each other didn't go unnoticed, so she walked up to the boys and hit them over the back of their head with her open palm; not enough to hurt, but to give them a reminder not to mess with her. "Snape, Mulciber! Enough of that, you can make out later, boys, but not when I'm around." she rolled her eyes and strolled back to the face all students. "Alright, seeing as this is the first class of this new term and most of you probably had better things to do than practice your flying skills in the past few months, we're going to start lightly today. I want you to build two teams and then we'll have a little match, 'kay?" Medusa clapped her hands and motioned to them to start. "Er... Luna, Rachel, you two are the captains and can pick your team, I hope you two Ravenclaws act more sensible than the rest. Rachel, you're the younger one, you can start."

Rachel stepped forward as professor Savage told her to be a captain of the team. She looked around the group of students and she definitely knew who she didn't want in her team. "I choose Mio." Rachel said to the professor, she then turned to her brother. Rachel had to admit, she would like to win and knew her brother was good in flying. Rachel looked at Luna, waiting for who she was going to choose so she could make a choice to who to pick next.

Luna smiled dreamily at her Professor and nodded softly at her words before waiting for Rachel to make her move. As expected, the younger Ravenclaw picked one of her siblings and Luna turned to look at the other students. "Mhm ... Neville, would you join me?" she asked her friend who quickly nodded and walked over to stand behind her. "You know that I'm really not a good flyer, right?" he whispered to her, but she just shrugged. "That doesn't matter, Neville. You have enough will to help us win and you can guard the goals." she gave back calmly. It didn't really seem important whether they would win or not.

Mio and Thanatos groaned when their teacher admonished them and both boys rolled their eyes at her comment. "Yes, ma'am." the Gryffindor replied with a sigh, while the Slytherin just ducked away to stand back beside his sister. Mio watched Luna and Rachel make their first move and he smirked in satisfaction at his friends when he was the first to be chosen. "We'll win anyway." he told Rachel chuckling as he stood next to her.

Rachel looked at Mio but didn't reply on his comment, she saw how Luna picked Neville and nodded in statisfaction. Luna wasn't picking the ones she had in mind so far. It was her turn again to pick one out. "I choose Ian." she said, leaning against her broom. the next one she would pick was also going to be easy but first waiting till Luna had picked.

Ian cheered when he was picked and quickly joined his friends and his sister. "Thanks, Rachel!" he grinned at her and clapped Mio on the shoulder. "Let's forget about the troubles for a while and enjoy a good game of quidditch together." he told him in a low voice knowing that his friend loved the sport just as much as he did and they always had a great time together when they were up high in the air. He wished David and Artemis had made it to the lesson as well, but so far there was no sign of them.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Guest on Mon Sep 14, 2015 2:51 pm

Luna smiled softly to herself seeing that the other students were slowly relaxing their guards a bit. It would do all of them good to get their mind off the dangers they were still chased by, but as she let her gaze travel over the other students, Luna noticed the expression on the Slytherin's faces. Most of the students here were friends or relatives, but there were some that were left out of that and she wanted to change that quickly. Everyone should feel included and have some fun, death eater or not. It should not matter here at school. Turning to one of the Slytherins, she smiled at him. "Thanatos, we would be happy to have you on our team." she said honestly.

Next to Luna, Neville tensed slightly when she called the Mulciber boy over to them, though he had already expected something like that from his friend. Luna had the gift to make the weirdest decisions, but he could also understand her choice. It would not be smart to push the Slytherins even more from their side, especially as they had to share lessons with them for another year. Maybe some of them could still be saved and would join their side in the war. Straightening up, Neville nodded calmly at the Slytherin as he joined them.

Re: Flying Lesson 1

Post by Thanatos Mulciber on Tue Sep 15, 2015 10:53 am

Thanatos had been watching the other students with a disgusted sneer on his face. They were clearly not happy to have him and his sister anywhere close to them, so what the hell was their teacher thinking putting them on a team together with the others? They would probably use every opportunity they got to throw blutchers at their heads, but he would be damned if he let any of these blood traitors hurt his little sister.

As student after student was picked, his shoulders became more and more tense. Thanatos knew that he was good at quidditch and that the others just didn't want him on his team because he was not on their side in the war. 'Not that I want to play with them anyway', he thought, shooting a glare at the forming teams, expecting to be picked last and only because they could not NOT pick him.

Thus, when his name still was called quite early on, Thanatos was more than surprised and he stared slightly dumbfounded at Luna. His first reaction was actually to grin back at her, as he really loved to play quidditch, but as the same time he grew suspicious of her motive. What was she playing at? Slowly, he walked over to her, getting tenser when Neville civilly nodded at him. Would they just accept him in their team like that? Thanatos did not understand their motive; he would never act that way.

Rachel looked around the people that were still could be chosen. Who to choose now? She thought. Luna had chosen Thanatos, she didn't know him that well but her twin sister did know him if she was correct. She made her decision who to choose. "I choose Violet." Rachel said. She had to choose Violet, she was her twinsister, they were family, even though she is a Slytherin. It didn't matter. Rachel looked at Luna. "It is not about winning, it's just keeping our heads out of all the things going on." Rachel said to Luna.

Violet was pouting slightly when her twinsister didn't pick her right away, but she quickly cheered up when she finally could join her siblings. "Forget about that, Rachel, we will win!" she said confidently, grinning over at the other team. As a true Slytherin, she would play to win, as always, but she would also make sure that everyone played fair. "No cheating, Than!" Violet called over to the older boy and winked.

"You are quite right, winning is not important as long as we all can have some fun." Luna answered Rachel calmly before shaking her head at Violet. "Thanatos will play just as fair as everyone else. He is a good player." she gave back, smiling softly at the Slytherin boy. In Luna's opinion, people just had to stop being suspicious of each other all the time, then many problems wouldn't arrive at all. Turning back to the remaining students, Luna picked the next team member. "Idie? Will you join us as well?" she asked the Slytherin girl.
