The Rising Tide (Lucian/Chase/Lilith)

Chase struggled in the chains she was held in, she had no idea where she was, all she knew it was dark and impossibly cold. Her inner wolf paced in her mind howling with distress every so often. Closing her eyes she tried to focus on being calm, on being anywhere but here. Slowly her heart beat slowed down as she began to relax. She took steady breaths focusing on her breath, the second she heard the door to wherever she was her eyes snapped open. 


Weeks passed and she was barely lowered from the chains, her muscles were stiff and weak from stress and her body covered in caked on blood and injuries. She hadn't seen light of any kind and still she was tortured. She thought the things Malphas had done to her had been awful but this was worse. So much worse. They kept her drugged and sedated so she couldn't fight back and her muscles shook with pain. 

The doors opened with a bang and light pooled in the cell as wizards swarmed into the room, the sudden burst of light blinding her. 

Lucian 


Lucian led the team of four wizards into the Witch Hunters estate, his wand held tight at his side. The horsemen swarmed killing those they found as they worked there way through the building, slowly working there way to the basement. Scanning the cells as he walked he turned the lights on and muggle lighting blazed through the dark basement lighting up the entire ground floor. 




When his eyes landed on the last cell he cackled darkly "look love, they had a toy" he said as he sauntered into the cell and jabbed the dirty beaten girl with his wand. He said "crucio" and watched with pleasure as her body jerked against the chains. 

Lilith walked by her lover's side, killing a few enemies along the way. She felt mostly annoyed by the whole hunter thing. They seemed to be bigger threat in Czechia, than here in UK, but still they could cause trouble. When Lucian entered the cell, she couldn't help but notice the prisoner strugling under his curse. "Lucian, stop," she said finally, her voice deadly calm as she kneeled next to the body of a girl. "She's my cousin," she said finally, clearly recognizing Chase.

Chase laid on the ground unable to move as the curse stopped, she opened her eyes as she heard "she's my cousin." then a famillar face came into view, "l..lilith" she rasped.

Lucian snarled in annoyance but let the girl down using his wand to blast her chains off her arms and legs. He took in the sight of the damaged werewolf with disgust towards the hunters.

Lilith's heart stopped for a second, hearing pain in her cousin's voice. They haven't been on best terms for a very long time now, but she was still her cousin. Family. "Chase," she spoke her name, her voice as emotionless as before. Not showing anything. "Do you know how long have you been held here?" she asked. "We've got to help her. Grandmother will be furious if we won't. Besides she is my family. I haven't got much left of that," she said towards Lucian.

"m..month atleast" she tried to sit up but her weak arms gave out beneath her. 

Lucian scowled at the inconvience but nodded, sheathing his wand the horseman took a knee and scoooped the girl up in his arms holding her gingerly. "We'll take her to the temple. from there we'll figure out our next move. Calling for the others he led the way out of the estate before the horsemen set the building on fire and appareted to the temple.

"Put her in my room," Lilith said as they apparated and led the way to her bedroom. Chase could stay there. Lilith was spending most of her nights with Lucian anyway. "I have to send an owl to grandmother. You don't have to stay. It's my issue to deal with," she told him with a smile, knowing how annoyed he probably was.

He placed the wounded wolf on his love's bed and  kissed Lilith's cheek "if you need anything call and i will come" he said "I dont mind she's your cousin" he cracked a smile "i mind that she's a wolf" with that he left her bedroom. 

Chase rolled onto her side shaking with pain. "i seem to have a nasty habit of getting myself totured"

Lilith gently squeezed his hand and gave him one more loving look before he left the room. They would talk later. She knew they would. "Indeed," she finally replied to Chase, her face going emotionless again. Despite caring for Chase, Lilith couldn't be careful enough. She knew her cousin never forgave her the betrayal she commited in her eyes. Disappearing in the bathroom for a moment, she brought a bucket of water and tower. She sat on the edge of the bed, rolled up her sleeves, exposing her Horsemen and Dark marks, she wet the towel and started cleaning Chase's wounds, as gently as she could.

She watched her cousin cleaning her wounds, the only part of her that didnt hurt was her metal hand, reaching out she brushed her metallic fingers along the horsemen tattoo "So you are horsemen now. grandma must be proud" she said without much thought

Lilith chuckled slightly at her cousin's words. "I didn't do it because of that," she said finally. Truth was, that Dellen was proud. Mazbe a little too much. After all, her little helpless and useless Lilith finaly grew up and proudly presented the name given to her.

Laying back she helped clean some of the blood, the large ugly wounds from being carved into looking angry and red. "She's always been proud of you" chase conffessed "she was proud of you the second she met you. she was proud of me but dissapointed" 

Silence fell for a few minutes "I trained as a templar. i fought in the war, i've been abused, raped, tortured, kidnapped. I dont know what to do anymore."

Lilith laughed bitterly at the statement. "I always wanted to be like you. The good girl. As much as I loved my family, my godparents were the ones I desired to follow. And you had it so easy. Gryffindor loved by everyone. I fought everyday just to be casted out the moment I hesitated because I was untrustworthy snake," she told her. "I wanted to be the good one so bad, that I jumped out of the window, when I could no longer see myself being that way."

"Ypur right, i did have the acceptence of others. but that didnt stop people like malphas or your ex, Kain. It didn't stop people from removing pieces of me i'll never get back. Grandmother said you tried to kill yourself, she told me the day she found me bleeding out because i ddi the same thing. the sad part is we are alot alike."

Lilith couldn't deny that. Chase has been through hell, just like she was. But unlike Lilith, she held onto the goodness in her no matter what. And part of Lilith hated her for that. "Difference is, that in the end, I chose to rather turn a villain, than suffer ever again," she said.

She sat up and began cleaning her hands and slowly cleaning her wounds, as the dried blood and dirt came off she revealled black skin from bruises and horrific injuries. "Perhaps thats where i keep getting things wrong."

Lilith, seeing her cousin was now quite selfsufficient in cleaning her wounds, got up and from the small fridge she had in her room, she took a few ice packs, she so often used back in her training days, and two beers. Handing one beer and ice packs to her cousin, with one of her steel nails, she opened hers and took a long sip. "Either you die a hero, or you see yourself live long enough to become a villain," she said, looking out of the window. "Maybe even your time has come."

"Part of me doesn't want to be a victim any longer the other part wants to give up" she confessed as she laid the ice packs on her injuries and took a sip of beer.

"What's stopping you?" Lilith asked. "It's not like you have anyone alive to hold you back," she added, realizing it was maybe a little too harsh second later.

"I'm supposed to be good." she said

"And who is here to judge you?" Lilith asked. "Honestly, my dear cousin, we both know grandma would love to see you on the other side. Out of our family, it's just you, me and Deimos. Nobody is good but you. All your friends, your boy, everyone is dead or they think you are dead. And if we count in everything that happened to you, do you honestly believe there is someone expecting anything from you but the bad stuff?"

"Do you really feel more like yourself now?" she asked looking at her "now that you gave into who you were afraid to be? "

"I don't know if I would put it that way. But I feel free. And much happier. I feel stronger, invincible. I found real friends and love of my life. I can finally sleep at night, I don't jerk away from other people when they take a step closer. I don't have panic attacks anymore," she listed things that changed in her life since the night she met Lucian. "This is what I wanted. Being on the side of those I never wanted to walk with was small price to pay."

"but now you have friends, you have that boy who looks at you like you are gold." she said looking at her beer.

As Chase mentioned Lucian, Lilith couldn't help herself and blushed slightly. She personally never thought that Lucian sees her in any special way. It was still hard to believe she was so lucky because he loved her. "He caught me... back then. I was decided to rather die. I was nobody. Kain's whore. A joke. Girl from the Lestrange family whos name nobody knew. Nobody, but him. He knew me, he belived my story, he offered me a chance. I took it. For him."

"Grandmother did say that he caught you, I knew him from afar, he was friends with Malphas and well..when i was with mal it...it was bad. i knew his friends only as the people who watched me, Lucian never hurt me but he didn't let me forget he was there" her metal fingers curled into a fist then opened with the memory "i know what its like to feel nameless, and like someone's worthless whore. i know what you went through, not eactly but i do know."
