Carelessness and Calm (Talos)

Amber groaned out as she moved further from the castle. The fight had been long, and even after the curse had broken, there had been another number of dueled. Though, the deep slash through her side had not been during a duel, nor a fight. It had been when her back was turned, as she headed toward the doors. Violetta had gone on ahead, but she had stayed back. Now, as she sat on the ground against a tree at the edge of the forest- having been unsure if she would have made it to the gates or even to apparate- she was glad that at least she had some cover. She knew that she shouldn’t have been so careless, but it had been a strange night and she had not expected to be attacked. Amber had only just managed to get the upper hand, injuring her attacker enough so that they couldn’t move- or perhaps they were dead. Either way, she didn’t care. She just needed to figure out how to heal the wound when she had exhausted her knowledge of healing magic to no avail.

Talos had been at the battle, which unfortunate to most, considering he was a very competent fighter. He'd come in guns blazing, taking down anyone who attacked, a few Death Eaters mistook him for a student. The last mistake they ever made...

He was under orders of Dragon, and through Dragon, Marvolo, Morana and the Dark Lord. He was covered head to two and currently stood looking down at the broken, lifeless body of Felix Grimm, son of Kronos. Talos killed him...

Although he did not do this with ease, his leg and back had been sliced open. He was bleeding heavily...yet he did not care. His white mask was now stained red and had new scratches and dents from the fight.

He was surprised when he was frozen...considering he had his fist clenched round Felixs neck. When he woke. He had dropped the body and he felt oddly weak. The pause had infuriated him. When he looked up...the stars were older. He realised he didn't know how long he'd been frozen...annoyance once more arose in him. He quickly crushed it into the black oblivion that was his emotionless self. He then began to leave. Keeping a look out for any Nexians, eventually his eyes set on one he knew. She was hurt...she...what was her name?

Amber.

He cautiously walked over to the injured Vampire, his body caked in blood, he noted she was injured. He tiled his head, healing magic wasn't his area of mastery, but he knew enough though heal wounds.

He stopped in front of her and looked at her. Usually they'd be rivals, be that in anything, simply because that was how wolf claw worked...and the fact she was a Vampire didn't help sway his judgment. However. Right now, she was a injured Nexian, and no Nexian can ignore that. There was only two solutions heal her...or put the Vampire out of its misery...the latter being more appealing.

He opened his large jacket slowly, revealing an array of knives and small blades tucked in before reaching deep inside his pocket and drawing his wand. His cold eyes set on hers, and without a word he aimed it at her.

With a flick of his wrist he cast a spell. There was a crackle before a golden white light, the magic enveloped her before sealing her wounds as repairing some of the damage. He then placed his wand back in his jacket, he did all this without breaking eye contact. He stood silently for a while, then he spoke. "What happened."

Amber heard the footsteps approaching her, but the loss of blood was making her significantly disorientated and she couldn’t even bring herself to look up until it was obvious that the person was close by. Dragging her gaze from her own stomach to the man who had stopped before her, she didn’t even have the energy to say anything. One stupid mistake, and by who the person before her was, it would likely cost her her life. Talos Immorta had been a firm rival of her’s since she had begun her education at Wolfclaw Academy, and now it appeared he may finally have his chance to get rid of her.

As he raised his wand in her direction, she didn’t even close her eyes. Instead, she kept her gaze locked onto his through his mask and waited. What came to her was not what she had expected. The green like she had prepared herself for was instead the softer hue of powerful healing magic, and she noted that she would need to make sure she learned more of it.

What happened? It was a simple question, but she didn’t know if she honestly knew the answer to it. But considering he had likely just saved her life, she would try her best to do so. “I have no idea,” she said, her voice soft due to her weak- though quickly recovering- state, “obviously we were all frozen. I do not know how long for, and I don’t know where my family is. I couldn’t even begin to comprehend why. As for me.. well, that was a stupid mistake. Two moments I was looking away for and they had me. I was lucky enough to get away, and I didn’t think I would have have enough good luck to manage to be saved. Apparently I was wrong. Thank you.”

"Apparently you were. You seemed startled when you saw me. Surely you did not think I would simply kill you when you were weakened? I enjoy having someone who can challenge me, if you are to die by my hand, you'll die only by my hand." They way he addressed the subject showed a grudging respect for her. He sighed "I awoke mid killing a man. It was an odd thing, death, stretched for fifty years...yet...i am unphased, nor tired, hungry...anything"

"I can't say that I have ever made any presumptions about you," she replied honestly, finally feeling strong enough to get to her feet. When he had approached her, she could not know what he had intended to do. But it appeared that he at least had some form of moral code. Or perhaps he merely didn't want to be seen as one who required his enemy to be weak when he beat them. Amber smirked slightly as she used the tree she had been leaning against to stand, her back scraping against the bark, although she felt no pain. "I'm no more famished than I was before the school froze," she said, gently touching the place where she had been wounded. It was tender, but not painful, and a good drink would help with the rest of her healing. "I wonder what has happened out there," she said, partially to Talos and partiality to herself, "I don't even know if it's safe to return home."
