failing the firemaking Empty failing the firemaking

Jocelyn sat by the black lake on the ground with a big piece of wood. The activities from the past days were still fresh in her mind and she decided to come here to clear everything out. She hadn't heard about her private dueling lessons with professor Prince at all so she decided it was time to try the firemaking.

The big piece of wood was staring at her in front of her, she had her wand tightly in her hand and she pointed at the piece of wood. Her breath was still slow and calm but she knew she would get a panic attack when she would cast incendio but she needed to be strong. Jocelyn looked around her if there was someone but there was nobody so she focused on her wand again.

" Incendio..." The fire pointed at the piece of wood and Jocelyn stopped the spell immediately and looked at the piece of wood that was burning now, she pulled herself up and stepped back a couple of steps and looked into the fire. She pointed her wand at the burning wood again.

"Aquamenti" She blushed the fire and there was no fire to see at all, her heart was beating at a high rate and she noticed she was sweating, she kept staring at the piece of wood.

The next thing she know the wood is ablaze with a brilliant and large flame. A person appears. Achilles. He smiled at her. ''Achilles, Achilles Grimm. Nice to meet you.'' He smiled again and looked into the flame. He spiked his jet black back up. He took his black coat off, and sat. His black shirt, was scruffy, so he sorted it. He sat in front of her.

Jocelyn jumped back in shock when the piece of wood turned into a big fire, she looked around her and her heart beating like a maniac in her throat. She saw a boy walking up to her and the fire, smiling at her. He introduced himself. Achilles Grimm? Grimm? Did she heard that right, he was also a Grimm?

Jocelyn walked up to him as he settled down on the ground right in front of her, she settled down as well but not close to the fire, she held her coat closely against her body.

"I'm Jocelyn Mia Grimm, did you really said Grimm because as far as i know i'm the only Grimm, well the only Grimm girl..." She said to him looking at him closely.

Achilles smiled. ''Yeah. I am a Grimm. One of five. You are the only woman Grimm I have come across. Its quite interesting. Sorry about the fire. Didn't want you using a spell on me if I caught you off guard. Didn't realise you feared them.'' He collapsed the fire, tilted his head and returned to a calm, blank yet welcoming look.

Jocelyn looked at him confused because she couldn't remember her father having siblings and cousins too.

"Strange, i never heard my father mention any siblings neither did my grandma about another son." She said to him. "The fire came really unexpected and was staring at the wood so when suddenly the wood catch fire you can actually jump in shock." She smiled to him trying to hide her fear for fire. Jocelyn didn't want everyone to know about her fear while she was practicing to be not so afraid of it as she was used too. Jocelyn felt somewhat safe with the Grimm boy and she had no explanation for it but with his welcoming look she had the urge to tell him everything but that was of course way too weird as she just met him.

Jocelyn looked at him. "I'm sorry about the lost of your parents. For who are you afraid?" She asked curiously. Maybe that is why her father nor her grandma talked about their brother and son, they died probably at a very young age. Jocelyn shook the thoughts away, it didn't made sense at all.

Achilles smiled ''I am afraid for those who killed them, because if I find them. To quote 'the fires of hell hath no fury like mine'.'' He said calmly, his smile faded however. He adopted an un-readable look.

Jocelyn looked at the boy in front of her, she saw anger and fury in his whole body language that made her a little scared also because his warm smile faded. Jocelyn didn't know what to do but she was alone here at the black lake with him.

"...I....My parents let my grandmother burn to death in front of my eyes on my birthday." She said out of nowhere, a little bit in shock that she told him, the boy she just met but now she couldn't take back her words so she decided to continue.

"That's why i'm really afraid of fire....I wanted to know if i could still cast it without getting in a complete shock and without jumping back and try to blush the fire immediately and as you could see i still can't do it." Jocelyn looked at the wood who had a blackish colour from the burning.

Achilles nodded. He brought back his smile ''You know. Fear is part of the mind. A parasite that leaches to your memories. I few a few things in life. Fire is not one. It can do amazing things.'' With that he made a dragon out of flame. Then a dolphin, then a smiley face. ''See what I mean? Its creates a beautiful aura don't you think?'' He spoke calmly and with a hint of excitement. Achilles had read her body language he saw the fear. ''Don't fear me. I am angry, yes. But not at you. Anger can be a weapon.'' he smiled at her.

Jocelyn nodded at his wise words but then he started to make figures out of the fire, so she stepped back from him not wanting to be close to the fire and still looked at it now much longer.

She could hear her grandmother scream in agony and she saw the flames burn her grandmother into her grave. Jocelyn came back in reality and stepped back, she was shaking and the fear was shown on her face.

"STTTttttt......STOP!!.......PLEASE just stop.........!! Jocelyn was hyperventilating and the tears streamed down her face. She was still scared and nothing could change it right now, not his words of wisdom about the beautiful aura fire created.

Achilles stopped the flames. ''I am sorry. I didn't mean to. I sometimes forget...Sorry. I-I---I I thought it would help. I-I---I----'' He said this in a panicked and surprised voice. He didn't know what to do, but some instinct acted for him, he pulled her in and hugged her ''I am sorry, shh now. Don't cry...Smile...Smile the sadness away'' He said in a calm soothing voice.

The fire went out almost immediately and she saw through her tears the boy reacting panicked but surprised and then something happened, he came over and hugged her, telling her that it was okay and for some weird reason she let him hug her and tell her to calm down. In a weird way she felt so warm and secure in his arms. Jocelyn pulled out of the hug and wiped her tears away.

"i....i'm sorry, i didn't think this would happen, i thought i was passed this stadium of being afraid of fire. Don't blame yourself on this, this is entirely my fault....i'm sorry for scare you like that." Jocelyn felt embarrassed now.

Jocelyn shuffled with her feet and looked at him, something made him so familiar but she couldn't really put her finger on it. "Well thank you for calm me down, i should probably go.." Jocelyn trailed off.
