Anastasia sat in a chair in the corner of her dormitory, reading a boring book on a boring subject, but knowing that she needed the information to complete an assignment. Not to mention, with her best friend having been almost absent recently she had little else to do. It seemed, however, that that was about to change as the door to her room opened and revealed her roommate. She closed the book, placed it purposefully on the table beside her, and stood. "Hello Lexi," she said, "where've you been?"

Lexi pushed past some students, holding her breath as she sped as humanly as possible to the dorm. She hoped to the gods, they were empty so she could drink. The moment she opened the door, the scent of her best friend slammed into her and she hardened her expressions, to act as normal as possible. Watching Anastasia like a hawk, she let out a small smile. ''Hey, Ana and ya know...just training and stuff.'' It wasn't a lie. She always trained but this time, she forgot her flask of blood to simmer down the gnawing of hunger.

Anastasia’s gaze was sharp as she examined the one person who she could honestly say she cared about. She knew Lexi from her inner workings to her facial expressions and something wasn’t right. But she wasn’t going to let on that she was suspicious of the girl, so she took a light breath and smiled as much as she ever did. “You look different,” she stated, her tone cool but her expression as soft as she could manage.

Lexi sniffed the air, narrowing her eyes as she looked around before looking back at Anastasia. She knew she suspected something was up. She could read her like she could read her brothers but became distracted by a sharp twist of her stomach. The statement caused Lexi's head to snap back at her best friend and she made a gentle smile. ''I hope good different?'' She questioned, grabbing the flask from her bedside table only to feel that it was empty. Fuck! I'm an idiot...Shit, shit...no..She thought to herself and put it back down, stronger than she meant and tried to look as normal as possible but she could feel her fangs start to come down.

Lexi’s actions and demeanor put Anastasia on edge, a feeling that she couldn’t say she’d ever experienced while in the company of her best friend. It was confusing, but the expression on the blonde’s pale face made no change. “I’ll let you know when I do..” Anastasia said thoughtfully, tilting her head slightly to the side like an animal watching something curious. Her brow furrowed when Lexi went to pick up a flask on her bed side table, and she frowned when she seemed to over react about it’s contents. Anastasia pulled a flask from her own draw and held it out to the brunette, shaking it slightly so that they could both hear the sloshing of liquid. “Here,” she said, a tone so sweet that it almost made her feel ill covering her words, “have some of mine.

Lexi raised her eyebrow but shrugged anyway. She slipped into her bed, clawing at the laces of her trainers and ripped them off, throwing them to the floor in slight frustration. She perked up at the sound of liquid, thinking slightly that it was the liquid she required but it left her mind as quick as it came due to knowing Anastasia wouldn't have something like that. ''You don't have what I want in that flask..'' She purred dangerously and before she could even think, found herself speeding towards Anastasia, pinning her to the bed just as those black purplish veins appeared under her eyes and she opened her mouth, revealing her fangs. ''I'm...hungry..'' Lexi said in a pained tone.

Anastasia had a feeling, and it wasn’t a good one. She almost knew, even when she’d held it out, that her flask was not going to satisfy Lexi. But she couldn’t admit it, or even ask. Surely her best friend wasn’t.. wasn’t what she thought she was. Because Lexi would have already told her, right? Emotions. It wasn’t something that Anastasia was even remotely experienced with, but at that moment there were several type warring within her. “I guessed as much,” she replied when Lexi confirmed her assumption, but before she could put the item back in her draw, she was thrown onto her bed. Her grey eyes widened, taking in the deformed appearance of her oldest friend, and she let out a shaking breath. “Then eat,” she whispered, unsure even herself if it was a dare or an offer. But she knew now, that she’d been right, and that thought alone filled her with a dread that felt like ice water. Not of Lexi hurting her, but because she'd kept such a life changing event to herself.

Lexi whimpered gently, staring down at her friend's neck, hearing the flow of her blood like it was singing to her. She licked her lips and tasted the fear in the air but still hesitated to drink. That's when she heard Ana's whisper, making something wash over her and she leaned down, sinking her fangs into her friend's neck, almost moaning at the sweet taste. Lexi released her wrists, allowing one of her hands to cup her cheek, keeping her in place so she could feast. Fear niggled at the back of her mind, not wanting to drink too much but the taste was too great, unable to stop herself from moaning in delight. I'm sorry...She thought into the air.

Anastasia hadn’t known whether Lexi would actually drink from her. It had been a stupid thing to say, and stupid not to put up some kind of fight. But this was her best friend, and no matter what she had become or what she did, she would always love her. It was a strange sensation- both painful and blissful- as she felt Lexi’s elongated teeth sink into the flesh of her throat. Her eyelids fluttered closed, and her head fell backward onto her pillow as she let herself become food for her roommate. She was becoming lightheaded, but she couldn’t bring herself to care. She couldn’t even remember why it was a bad thing, as she took fast and shallow breaths past Lexi’s hair.

Lexi could feel the love pouring from her friends blood, knowing their bond was now stronger. She had her thighs clenched around Anastasia's hips, making sure there was no room for a fight what so ever and slowly but surely, became aware of the shortage of breath. Yanking away in fear that she might've killed her best friend, she stared down at her chest, listening out for the pulse and there it was, steady and still there. ''I'm so sorry...I'm so so sorry...please forgive me..'' Lexi whimpered, running her tongue against the wound, allowing it to heal but she still sobbed into her friend's neck. Monster...monster...monster...pulsed in her mind as usual.

Anastasia was pinned to her bed and she knew that even if she’d wanted to try and push Lexi away it wouldn’t have worked. So she had no other choice but to put complete faith in her best friend’s control and their bond. Although she wanted to reassure her friend, tell her that it was alright, she couldn’t seem to find her voice. The blonde reached out her hand and found Lexi’s cheek, smoothing her fingertips over the cool skin there. It’s alright, she tried to say, it’s all going to be just fine.

Lexi whimpered at the touch, leaning into it like she depended on it. Looking down at her best friend, the look of fear and surprise evident on her face and gently kissed her friends forehead, resting hers against it. ''H-How are you so calm? I just...i drank your  blood...im a monster..'' She whispered, a tear sliding down her cheek. Her strong wall of emotion cracking and tumbling. ''I'm sorry...I'm so fucking sorry...'' She sobbed, clenching her eyes shut.

While Anastasia's human instinct told her that this creature was a danger to her, the blonde knew that her friend had meant her no harm. Because, vampire or not, Lexi was the one person who always had and always would mean something to the otherwise loveless girl. And so she couldn't hold this against her, especially considering her own encouragement of the act. With a voice softer than she ever used before, Anastasia said, "it's okay, Lexi. I'm okay." Wrapping an arm around her best friend's body, Anastasia allowed the feeling of lightheadedness fade as she breathed in the both familiar and foreign scent of Lexi. "I'm calm because I told you to do it," the older girl whispered, "and because you'll always be my best friend. No matter what, remember?"

Lexi stroked Anastasia's hair away from her face, repeatedly kissing her forehead as if it'd help everything somehow. Falling beside Anastasia, rubbing her face as she did and encased Anastasia in her arms, protectively. ''I won't do it again unless you want me to...'' She whispered softly, latching onto her friend for dear life as tears stained her cheeks. ''You'll always be my best friend, Ana...you're mine..'' She whispered softly. She just wished she had more control. It was hard enough being this close to someone even after drinking from them as the scent of blood was still in the air.
