Lesson two: Astronomy. Empty Lesson two: Astronomy.

Post by Chase Niberus Tue May 14, 2013 4:51 pm

Chase had come up a little bit early to settle down the telescopes for the people who didn't had one and his own telescope, who was a bit larger than the old ones, he also settled down little tables so the students could lay down there work and while they were observing they could easily write down their notes. It was a clear sky so his students could see a lot of the moons of jupiter and Chase was really glad about that.

He had also asked in the kitchen to fill big thermos cans with hot water and hot chocolate and summoned mugs so that the students could be warm in the chilly night. Chase even had a to say list for some things he forgot to tell the students.

To Say List
- Tell them they don't have to wear the usual schooluniforms.
- Tell them to wear warm clothes.
- The students can call him Chase only when we are up here in class.
- They can if they want take a peek through his telescope because it would probably be a lot better.
- At the end of this lesson he wanted to see what the students were having and then the next time they would let see progress in their work.

Chase had everything settled and took a sip of his tea while waiting for his students to come in.

Morgan made her way to the Astronomy Tower, excited and ready for the next lesson. She made sure to wear her Ravenclaw hoodie and matching beret, scarf, and gloves. She hoped it wouldn't be too chilly tonight. Over her shoulder, she had a silver case which held her telescope. When she reached the top of the stairs, she spotted the Professor. "Good evening, Professor Niberus," she said with a smile. She also spotted a Hufflepuff girl. She gave the girl a friendly smile and made her way to one of the small tables to get ready for class.

Chase saw the girls coming up and he smiled at them. "Hello girls, lets get you settled just like miss Prince is doing. Very good miss Prince. Girls settle your telescopes next to one of the tables and if the others arrive we will get started. Some of you needed to hand in a essay about the important things i said in the first lesson because they missed that part hand it in please." Chase said to them and sipped his tea again waiting for the other students to come in.

Phaedra made her way to Astronomy, silently not saying a word. As soon as she reached the top of the stairs, her telescope in hand. "Ello, professor." she greeted, knowing she couldn't call him anything else, but that's just what she thought. Taking a seat, and not saying another word,

Luna walks in with a smile on her face and a gold telescope with the stars and moon etched into it. She smiles at everyone else and looks at the professor. ''Hello Professor.'' She sorts out her black hoodie which was over her hufflepuff uniform. She seats herself down and wipes the corner of her blood red lips which had the remains of a chocolate she ate on the way up. She ruffles her hair a bit to not look like a normal hufflepuff and looks around the room, grinning at everyone. She traced the detail on the telescope and waited for the class to begin with a smile.

"Hello miss Niberus and hello miss Valkyrie, you can both get your telescopes ready by one of the tables." Chase pointed at the free places. Chase settled down his mug of tea and clapped in his hands.

"Okay ladies, i will start just with a few announcements to make before we can begin with observing." Chase looked around the classroom and gave a warm smile. "First because it is midnight when you all come here you don't have to wear the school uniforms but keep in mind that it is not always warm up here so warm clothes like hoodies are great to have and it keeps you warm. I have a daughter on this school, in Hufflepuff and here in this lessons, she is Phaedra Niberus." Chase looked at his own daughter for a couple of minutes and turned back to the other students. "You don't have to worry about giving her more credit or help her with her essay because that is not how i do things around here, she is a third year so for her on school i'm a just a professor giving her Astronomy. Here there are thermos cans with hot water for tea and hot chocolate to keep you all extra warm, you can grab if you want. You all can now begin your first observation and i'll call you all back and tell a little bit more about the Moons of Jupiter." Chase grabbed his drink and walked around the students.

Morgan smiled at the idea of something hot to drink. After she got her telescope set up and focused on Jupiter, she went and picked up a thermos, mug, and hot coco mix and returned to her table. She figured she better do some work first and then treat herself to a warm drink after getting some things jotted down for her paper. She lay down and looked thought her silver and purple telescope and began noting things.

Scarlett entered the Astronomy Tower a moment late, due to her small conversation she had with her Potions' professor. With her pass excusing her tardiness gently in her left hand and her telescope case loosely carried over her left shoulder, Scarlett began up the staircase to highest point of the tower where class was being held. Starting up the stairs a small drift of cool air whirled passed her, making goosebumps appear along her skin. Being prepare for the weather this time around, Scarlett grabbed her Hufflepuff sweatshirt that was slumped over her telescope case and pulled it on over her head, flipping her curls over the outside of the sweatshirt also applying her fingerless gloves to keep her hands warm.

Continuing her journey up, Scarlett arrived at her destination toward the end of Professor Nimberus's introduction to their second class of the term. Before entering Scarlett knocked politely on the doorway, hoping to enter in a polite manner instead of buzzing her way through the class. As Professor Nimberus acknowledged that she has arrived, Scarlett said her apologizes for being late and handed the professor her excuse. Watching as Professor Nimberus read the slip over, Scarlett set her golden telescope up and begun to write note on the stars and how they laid tonight.

Angel made her way to a telescope and peered in before focusing it. She cast a glance at the hot cocoa a reminded herself to get some during class. Turning back to her telescope, Angel looked in and examined the night sky. Picking up her quill, Angel pondered about what to jot down.

Scarlett ran her fingers along the side of her telescope that use to belong to her grandfather when he was a kid. If she could remember correctly, in his stories he would always tell her that as a child he was fascinated with the stars and how he could spot millions of them from their family's country-side vacation house down in Charlotte. So you can probably imagine how happy Scarlett was this morning to give a package from her grandfather, and to find his prized-possession telescope wrapped up with a nicely-tied ruby ribbon. Feeling quite guilty for not thinking of it before, Scarlett made a mental note to herself, Note to self: Write grandparent a Thank-you letter for giving you the telescope and reassuring that it arrived safely, she thought. Peering though the telescope's lens, Scarlett took her small handkerchief from her pocket and cleaned the lens.

Phaedra wasn't entirely sure what to think at the current moment, but nothing the less she peeked through her telescope, seeing what she could possibly see, this was probably her favorite class because she could see the stars, the beautiful stars. A light smile on her face, it was obvious she loved stars and anything that had to do with them.

Chase walked around and was proud to see that everyone had his own telescope with them, the students were already observing the stars. Chase stood by his own daughter who loved watching the stars just like him.

"Beautiful isn't it?" he asked her with a warm smile.

"Always. There never not beautiful." Phaedra said, not taking her eyes off the telescope not even for a second, she didn't want to miss anything that might happen, if she did take her eyes off the telescope. She already knew most of the stars names, and that just meant she was ahead of the game. "They don't ever change either, which is amazing." she muttered, watching the stars closely as if there going to move or do something unexpected, but that's just how much she cared about the stars, enough to not take her eyes off them, and figuring out which stars were which, just by memory.

Luna grabbed a thermos and hot coco mix with a grin. Her sweet tooth showing. She set up her telescope, tracing the details on it. Her twin told her that the stars on the telescope were just like the ones in the sky, constellations in the same place. She looked through with pure amazement. ''Beautiful...'' She whispered and drank some coco. She went back to looking in the telescope and moved it to face the moon and the stars around it. She looked around for the constellations and paused at the moon again, feeling drawn. She grinned.

Morgan loved Astronomy. There was just something about being out under the giant blanket of stars. After jotting down a few things she peered up at the sky to just look at the beauty around her without the telescope. Morgan smiled to herself, as she made some coco and carefully sipped the hot liquid. The stars didn't judge, they simply were, and she loved that about them.

Luna grabbed a piece of parchment and draw what she saw including notes of what they were. She looked at the sky with a smile, turned back to her telescope and continued to draw the moon and the stars around it.

Angel gazed at the vast sky filled with stars. To Angel, each star had its own story to tell. Something memorable had happened under every star in the night sky. Angel jotted a few notes down before looking through the telescope again.

Ginny looked inside her telescope and put down a few notes. She loved Astronomy, it was one of her favorite subjects. She adjusted the lens a bit to look at some of the moon's craters for a while before trying to look for other stars.

Angel decided she needed to take a quick break and helped her self to the hot cocoa. Sipping the steaming beverage, Angel leaned against the wall, enjoying the view, Astronomy was defiantly one of Angel's favorites. It was probably becuase of the blanket of stars, planets, and moons that cloaked them every night.

Chase walked around to look by other students. He saw a girl with dark brown hair, it was Luna drawing something on the notes and describe what she saw. Chase smiled to himself, it was good to see all the students being busy with his subject.

"I'm very proud of you all and if you have questions feel free to come to me and ask me or if you don't want to leave your telescope raise your hand and then i will be there."

Chase decided to look at his own telescope to put some notes down as well.

Morgan was looking through her silver and purple telescope at Jupiter and the 4 largest moons. As she noted differences between them, she noticed something strange about them. Morgan thought about taking her notes to Professor Niberus, but she decided to just raise her hand and wait for him, just in case he wanted to see what she was seeing.
