Training Control (Averbane)

Lexi, now basking in the moonlight after hiding away in her dorm, avoiding the scents of every human. It was far too strong and was now in the bedroom of a farmer's home who was in the middle of nowhere. He laid asleep, unaware of her presence who had just slipped in through the window. She needed to eat, her stomach hurt, her gums hurt and she wanted his blood. Moving forward, a few steps only taking one thanks to her newfound speed and pinned him to the bed. He gasped awake, staring up at the feral girl who had dark lines under her eyes, obviously hungry but he made no more noise as her teeth sank into his neck. Groaning at the intoxicating taste, she pulled away when his entire body went cold with the touch of death and she wiped her mouth, flitting off to find another family to feed. Lexi stopped flitting at the edge of someone's garden, watching the lights turn out and was about to barge in, not taking notice of another scent nearby. She felt too wild with hunger to pay attention.

A voice called out from the darkness "Its new bloods like you that makes us all seem like feral beasts" the man stepped forward the moonlight revealing him to be Averbane Grimm, a veteran vampire, and ex vampire hunter. "Although, we are monsters. That I'll give you." he approached her and placed a hand on her shoulder "However, a mindless killing spree is out of the question and Dellen will have your head on a plate, she hates loose vampires"

Lexi spun around, baring her teeth before the scent of ancient blood hit her. She stood up properly, wary of the man. Staring down at the hand on her shoulder, she let out a low growl in warning to let go. She never liked being touched. Only by her family, two friends and her sire. ''I can't...control it...I'm so hungry...'' She almost whimpered, looking over her shoulder at the house where she could hear the heartbeats of her possible victims. ''I..never wanted to be a monster...'' She said, voice cracking.

Averbane chuckled. "No, you just wanted to survive." he grinned and looked at her "Your hunger is cruel, vicious, however if you feed and feed and feed it'll be your downfall as you'll never be able to avoid a trap when one presents itself."

Lexi looked away from the old vampire and let out a shuddering breath. ''No...I allowed myself to fall into the claws of death, Sir. I let him drink from me...He almost killed me but fed me his blood to heal me. I thanked him...for not letting me die and just like that, he snapped my neck. I was a fool.'' She whimpered, wiping her cheeks and looked up at him. ''How do i stop feeding!? I mean...I am at hogwarts for this tournament. I'm surrounded by people every night. I have my brothers with me...I can't just...stop. If i feed all night, it would help during the day...right?'' She questioned.

Averbane grinned. "You'd like to hope wouldn't you, however, I learned the more I fed, the more I needed it. More and more and more, each time I need more to quench my thirst, one or two, three then entire family's, villages at a time everything in my path." he paused and looked around quickly "Feeding does help yes, however. Not in the long run." he paused and chuckled "But. Of course hunger is a choice. Mind over matter"

Lexi listened, her frown deepening as she did. It almost broke her hope of ever controlling this hunger. She rubbed her arms, not from the cold but from her discomfort. ''So...I have to lessen the amount i feed, perhaps doing something else to soften the pain just to have control?'' She said. ''And that all of this hunger is my own doing? my own choice? Why would i cause this pain to myself? I need to feed. I'm only a newborn by a few days..'' She said, looking back up at the building just as her ears connected to the sound of sleeping heartbeats.

Averbane smiled slightly. She was new to this, although Averbane went on a rampage once every thirty years, his hunger never bothered him, he kept blood around if he really needed it, however, he taught himself huge amounts of restraint, especially since he fell in love with another woman after being turned and it was hard to stay calm round her. It was a painful lesson, although worth it in the end, Averbane could now inspect bleeding wounds without the slightest of temptation, usually, somethings still had a way of getting at his hunger. Like warfare, all that blood, Averbane loved it. He then realized she did want a response. "Do you want love? Friends? Family?" he then said abruptly. "Being a vampire is one thing. Controlling yourself is another. I had a reason, I was a king, I couldn't just devour my subjects. I fell in love and despite my urge to, I restrained myself, I have three children and they wouldn't of been happy if they found me trying to drink there blood, my children's children too." he said with a sadistic smile. "Despite the hunger, I didn't. I chose to restrain myself, for them. Do you want to be a monster girl? A demon? Hated and despised. Cast out even by your own? Hunted? Forever an outcast? Is that what you want? I don't think so. Find a reason to maintain a scrap of your humanity. I have mine, yours would be different." He was trying to see if she'd listen to reason, he doubted it so he did have a reserved plan. Just in case.

Lexi watched him, narrowing her eyes at his sudden quietness that did annoy her more than it should've. It's not like she had a problem with her hunger or anything. She scoffed mentally, crossing her arms over her chest but then he began to speak again. ''I have friends and family.'' She muttered before continuing to listen. What he said did make sense and struck her. She then took a step away from the house to help herself. ''Humanity..'' She whispered and looked into his eyes firmly. ''My brothers...They're my reason...I need to be normal for their sake.'' She said and let a tiny smile touch her lips. ''Obviously i know, control just doesn't happen like that but i guess whenever i feel like feeding, i can just think of how my brothers would feel...Thank you. It means a lot, sir.'' She said, rubbing her stomach slightly.

"Sir? Please, My name is Averbane Grimm, I'd prefer you used it." he smiled slightly and cracked his knuckles. "New blood are always fun to meet.....Ah!" he reached into his coat and seemed to be having a hard time finding something before he produced a bottle, passing it slowly. "Only if you REALLY need to."
