Now this is ... Awkward? (James, Sithon)

“Sithon?” Violet called out to her friend and looked down from the roof which she was sitting on, trying not to get too dizzy in the process. “Come on you idiot, that was your idea!” She looked around to see if the window through which they had climbed onto the roof was still open, but someone must have closed it behind them. She sighed and shook her head with a dramatic roll of her eyes which, unfortunately was completely lost as no-one was around to witness that great display of control over optic muscles.

“Damn that boy! Why do I always let him talk me into these kind of situations?” she muttered under her breath as she slowly made her way across the roof, trying her best to not get to close to the edge. It was early afternoon and she and her friend had been bored, so they started to wander through the castle; being first years, there were still so many new things to discover and today Sithon had the bright, Violet coughed sarcastically at her own thoughts, idea to take a sun bath on the roof. And just as she was drifting off to sleep, the bastard had jumped off to Merlin knew where, leaving her sitting on her own.

“Moron!” Violet cursed again and glared at the large owl that had taken a seat not far, calmly staring right at her. “You make me feel watched, you know?” she remarked, staring back. Still staring. “Alright! You are watching me, fine, I don’t care!” Violet rolled her eyes again when suddenly, she let out a whoop.
There was another window and this time, someone actually seemed to be standing close by. Now she just had to hurry before they walked away again. “Hello? Hello? Please!” Violet knocked against the glass, calling out for the boy that had just walked past.

James wandered around the Gryffindor common room, trying to bring himself to face the pile of homework that he really should have finish already. His brother would have told him off had he known, but thankfully Ian was a Hufflepuff and wasn’t able to see the desk in the Gryffindor dormitories. Letting out a frustrated sigh, he walked from the room, into the corridor that would lead him down to the rest of the castle. As he walked, he thought about lunch and how the girl who he liked to sneak subtle glances at had been missing. It was the weekend, so he figured that she was off with her friends or something, so he hadn’t worried about it too much.

What he didn’t expect was to hear a familiar voice that always seemed to make his stomach flip in a most uncomfortable way. Glancing around the corridor, he tried to make out a figure. He couldn’t see anybody, but as he glanced back at the window he had just passed, he noticed that someone was on the other side. Quickly, he rushed to the window and saw Violet Snape on the other side of the glass. Opening the window, he looked around outside and frowned, “what on earth are you doing out there?”

Violet let out a sigh of relief when the window was open and she even recognized the Gryffindor who was kind enough to do that. "James! Thank Merlin!" she exclaimed happily and, in her excitement, threw her arms around the other student for a hug. "Erm...ups..." Realizing what she had done, Violet released him again and patted his chest awkwardly. "Yeah...sorry about that." she could feel her cheeks heating as she blushed under his gaze, so she tried to cover it up by explaining hastily. "You see, Sithon had the bright idea to enjoy the sun outside by lying on the roof. So we climbed out of one of the windows on sixth floor. Smart, I know!" Violet rolled her eyes. "And don't ask why I was going along with it. I have no idea at all. Call it a momentary lapse of judgment." she smiled up at him sheepishly, hoping he would not think her completely mad. For some reason, this particular boy's opinion seemed to matter quite a lot to her and inwardly, Violet groaned. I can't turn into my sister! she thought frantically. Looking back at the Gryffindor, she took motioned to the window. "Would you mind, helping me back inside? I've been out here for hours and I'm really getting a bit cold." she told him, biting her lip nervously.

James froze when he became engulfed in a hug. It took him a moment to realise that he was just standing there, and in an attempt to play it cool he brought a hand up to pat her a few times on her back, biting his lip to keep from grinning. “It’s alright,” he said, allowing a smile to break across his face, “if I was stuck out on a roof, and someone finally showed up to help me I’d probably hug them, even if it was Professor Snape himself.” His mouth dropped open for a moment, before he blushed and stammered, “I mean.. he, erm.. he isn’t a fan of Gryffindors? Surely you know that.” Trying to cover up the fact that he had spoken about her father, he chuckled and shook his head.

“So Sithon managed to convince such a clever girl to climb with him onto a roof?” he asked in mild disbelief, “how on earth did he manage that?” He couldn’t help the slight anger he felt flare up at the thought of his housemate leaving the pretty Slytherin alone at such a dangerous height, but shook the frustration off quickly. “Perhaps its the allure of joining a Gryffindor on such a brave adventure?” he asked animatedly as he unconsciously moved closer so that she was well within his grasp, just in case she were to slip.

“Oh, of course!” he exclaimed, reaching out to grab her hand before realising that it would probably not be a stable enough hold to bring her safely inside. Blushing, he reached both of his hands out of the window and hovered them a little way from her waist, “do you mind?”

Violet looked at the Gryffindor in silence for a few moment after his comment about her father, her mouth standing slightly open before she burst out with laughter. "I guess he's not, though he did marry one, you know?" she gave back, winking at James as she refered to her father's marriage to her mother. "But you're right. Gryffindor is not really his favourite house." she sighed and rolled her eyes. Sometimes, her father could be quite obsessive with his dislike for the Lions, but then again, he was quite obsessive with most things.

Only a few seconds later, Violet had to roll her eyes again when her friend was mentioned. "Yes...well..." she bit her lip awkwardly and shrugged. "...it sounded like a fun idea and I was bored?" she tried with the truth. It had been quite a boring afternoon and Sithon, though quite mad, at least always had fun ideas to pass the time. "I don't even know where he ran off to. Believe me, I will give him quite a piece of my mind when I find him!" she growled, her irritation with her friend showing on her face. Violet brightened a bit at his comment and she laughed softly. "I guess growing up with what would be a Gryffindor brother, I'm just used to the adventures and they can become quite addictive." she winked at James and moved closer to climb inside. 

She blushed slightly at his gesture, but nodded at him after glancing over her shoulder. Violet shivered slightly at how far the ground was below her and quickly took a step closer to James, holding on to his shoulders to let him help her get back inside. "Thank you." she whispered gratefully. 



No problem  I though maybe Vio and James can go looking for him and get to know each other a bit better xD

James had to admit that he was a little embarrassed to have even brought up Professor Snape. The boy had tried to remain indifferent on his opinion on the Potions professor, considering he didn’t particularly know him and he didn’t like to judge those whom he didn’t know. It didn’t help that he was rather taken with the man’s daughter, either. James blushed very lightly at the thought as he nodded in response to Violet’s words. “I admit that if I wasn’t from the house of Lions, it probably wouldn’t be my favourite either.” No, he thought, my favourite would almost definitely be Slytherin. In fact.. it almost is anyway. All because you’re from there, Violet. James was thankful that he wasn’t one to say everything that was on his mind, though he occasionally slipped up. But he was, he would probably be completely mortified by now.

The boy laughed openly at her reasoning behind going with such an insane plan, shaking his head as though he was disappointed, though his smile made it obvious that he was only messing with her. “I’m kind of interested as to the view from up there, I’ll be honest,” he teased, “maybe you’d like to join me some other time? Just for fun.”

Violet was easy enough to lift, and James tried to ignore her hands on his shoulders as he picked her up over the window sill and into the safety of the castle walls. “You alright?” He didn’t release her straight away, just in case she wasn’t steady on her feet. Or at least, that was what he was telling himself.
