First Blood (Danika) (R)

Dominic left the training compound and headed down south street London looking in the windows of the shops. The past few weeks he'd been so busy he hadn't been able to talk to Danika other then when she came and slept in his arms, personally that was his favorite part of the day. Holding her as she slept, she always looked so peaceful.

With the ball coming up he wanted to surprise her and cut out of his meeting early to do some shopping. "Sir can I help you?" Dom looked up as a voice got his attention, looking at the woman's name tag he smiled charmingly "Kira" he said "I'm looking for something for my girlfriend...something as beautiful if possible as she is" the woman giggled at his words and he smirked. The older broads loved his gooey talk but he was honest when it came to his princess. "Right this way" she opened the door to the shop and he followed her inside the darkened rooms.

"Whats the occasion?" she asked "Christmas?" "Indeed" he said as he looked over the different pieces of glittering jewelry "I am escorting my princess to a ball and I wish to make her feel like a Queen." "Well tell me what you are looking for exactly Sir, a ring? or is it too early for that, necklace? bracelet? A hair piece?"

He hummed at her suggestions glancing at the case by the counter, he glanced at the muggle "I just dont know what to do for her, i want to give her the world but shes the kind of girl that has everything"

The woman went on making suggestions and he looked down at his chest, he always wore a necklace that was a pair of angel wings with a sword in the center. "M'am" he interupted her "Do you have anything like this?" he held up his necklace and the woman looked at it then nodded.

She dissapeared into the backroom and returned with a small pair of angel wings on a golden chair the wings were silver and the sword came to a point. The sword had a green emerald in the center of the hilt and the wings were white gold. "Perfect..." he breathed softly. After picking out a pair of earrings for the special occasion he purchased the necklace and the earrings and slid them into his coat.

Smiling broadly he checked his watch as he stepped out into the snowy air, heading back to the school he heard she had gone for a walk in the woods and headed down to the tree line to find his golden queen.

Danika had headed to the forest for a relaxing walk. With the school being so busy and everyone all together, it was hard to simply get a chance to be away from everyone. She missed Dominic and knew he was busy, but it was still hard to only really get to see him before bed when she'd sneak into his room and fall asleep safely tucked away in his arms. As she walked she thought about her dress for the up coming ball and hoped that he was going to like it.

As she passed a tree, a strong hand grabbed her arm and flung her into the trunk of the neighboring tree. "I thought you'd never get here..." a gruff, drink laden voice hissed to her. Crashing into the tree, she felt the bark scrape her cheek and, putting a hand to the tender spot felt the dampness of what she knew was her own blood. Turning to face her attacker, her training as Vagr took over. "I am not here to meet you, or anyone," she hissed back. "That is where you're wrong lovely," the older Durmstrang boy said, stepping from the trees and rubbing his manhood that was already primed for whatever he had planned. "Back off," she growled darkly. "Not a chance," he said, diving at her.

In one fluid motion, Danika drew the butterfly knife she had sheathed in her booth and exposed the blade just as he hit her and knocked her to the ground. The blade found it's mark without Danika's assistance, and pricked the boy's heart, sending him to the next life almost immediately. Pushing him off her, Danika looked at her hands and her shirt and found them blood stained. What happened? What had she done? Without warning, a blood curdling scream ripped from her throat, filling the forest all around her to overflowing...

Dom had been walking down the paths looking for signs of his girl when he heard her scream, training kicking in he took off running as fast as he good jumping over fallen trees and rocks. Crashing through the trees he suddenly found her, he noted the dead body but ignored it "Danika" he jumped down into the clearing kneeling beside her he pulled her into his chest "Dani what happened calm doown sssh shh" he said

Her screams silenced when Dominic appeared before her and held her tightly to his strong chest. Danika couldn't bring herself to wrap her arms around him for fear to getting what blood was on her on him. Loudly she sobbed as what happened registered in her mind. "He's dead! Dom, he's dead! I killed him!" she shouted in a strained voice. Trembling against him, Dankia gasped for air as if she was unable to breathe at all. Pushing Dominic away, she moved only a short distance away before violently retching, hugging herself tightly. What had she done...

Getting to his feet he knelt behind her and pulled back her hair as she threw up "Tell me what happened" he said his voice was firm but calm "Why is he dead"

Wiping her mouth with the back of her hand, Danika closed her eyes and drew several deep shuddering breaths. "He... he was there... Out of no where... Said and did disgusting things," she said, trying to control the shaking in her voice. Looking up at the boy she loved so deeply, the light glistening off the deep scrape on her cheek, she let a single tear fall. "He attacked me... But, I pulled the butterfly knife you gave me to protect myself... It... It all happened so fast, Dom..." she finished and bit her lower lip. Looking down at her blood stained hands, she shook her head and shut her eyes tight.

Pulling her along he brought her to face the body "he is dead because he harmed you" his voice was hard as if he was speaking to one of the younger knights templar. "You id the right thing and it was a accident but do you want to know a secret" he turned her to face him "I kill. Often. I take lives of those too filthy to exist. death happens. and sometimes you must make yourself the one too render someone lifeless to make the world a better place. Do you wish to imagine what he would have done to a weaker girl? some first year for example? What if he raped a little girl because you ran away and didnt fight. you would hate yourself. But you ended him so he cannot hurt anuyone and he cannot hurt you"

Struggling against Dominic as he pulled her to face the body of the student she killed, Danika had no choice but to go with him. He was stronger and bigger then she was and pulling against him was pointless. Clenching her teeth as she looked at what she had done, the blade still stuck in his chest, she listened as he spoke. When he turned her to face him, she looked directly into his deep, dark eyes as he spoke. Soon, her pulse slowed, as did her breathing and the shaking that had claimed her body. What he said was right. If she hadn't of done this, if could have been someone else. Looking back at the body, Danika nodded slowly. "Then, it is good it is done... Self-defense isn't the same as murder... He got what he asked for by picking the wrong one to go after," she voiced in a monotone manner before looking back at him, "Right?"

"yes" he agreed pulling her against him "someone weaker would have just been beaten and raped possibly killed. he got exactly what he deserved, we kill those who are bad so the innocent do not suffer"

Resting her body against his, Danika, finally, slowly, wrapped her arms around Dominic's strong, safe body. Nodding her understanding, she whispered, "He was my first... They trained me for such things, but nothing prepares you for it... Forgive my weakness."

"its not weakness Dani" he said kissing the top of her head "its having a heart, i've been killing for years. I didnt know i had a heart till i met you, nothing prepares you for it but it gets easier." he let her go and walked over to the body, retrieving the knife he had given her. Pulling out his wand he cut the limbs to pieces and set them on fire.

She didn't know what to make of his statement of it getting easier. Frankly, Danika didn't want it to ever happen again, but she knew, deep down, that it would. It was inevitable. She was a trained weapon, just as Dominic was. If she reacted this way to this threat, who was to say she wouldn't do it again? As he retrieved the blade and set to work disposing of the body, Danika said softly, her voice back to normal, "You are my heart, Dom... You teach me so much. You are my strength when I can't be strong."

Dom smiled gently as the body burned to dust and was gone "no, i merely remind you what you know so you can be stronger." he said taking her hand he led her from the area "sometimes it can be fun to kill..to hurt someone..it can be..fullfilling"

Smiling to herself she nodded in silent agreement. Taking his hand, she followed him as he lead the way out. Glancing up at him, Danika's brow furrowed. "How can taking of life, when it's not needed, be fulfilling, Dominic? Life shouldn't be wasted," she asked, never having seen or heard of this side of her love before. "You said to hurt only those that need hurting. To protect those that cannot protect themselves. How do you find it enjoyable?" Danika asked further, tightening her grasp on his hand as they walked.

"Because its a reminder that your stronger, faster. better. Some people don't belong in this world or deserve to live" he looked down at her as they walked his eyes were the same as usual but gauging her reaction. "Sometimes we kill the ones we hate or the ones who are useless. Natural selection. it is the way of the world."

She didn't understand. Did he mean that he sought out the ones that were slower and weaker? Sought the ones that didn't belong in this world for this reason or that? Danika could understand if the paths of those crossed with hers, much like what just happened only moments before, but to seek them instead? Looking away, down the path, she rubbed her free hand's fingers against her palm, still sticky with the drying blood of the life she took. "But... Dom... That's not natural selection. They might be weaker or slower, someone we hate or believe don't belong in this world, but... Is it really for us to make the call to remove them? Then it's our choice in selection, not nature's..." she reasoned, quietly.

Turning on her he gripped her hands firmly but not roughly "you fail to understand the point Danika, if you find a man with a history of rape do you let him live to commit a crime again? Or do you stop him? You overhear a person saying they will kill a child do you wait for the corpse or save a life. it is better to take the initiative then to be wrong and responsible for the death of a innocent."
