You can hand in the homework you received from me during class. ( Only the homework for something you missed in class! No research papers!)

Name: Morgan Prince
House: Ravenclaw
Year: 3rd Year
Class: Astronomy Make-up Essay

Astronomy class with be held at night and will require a telescope. If we do not have one, Professor Niberus will provide us with one, but it’s best to get your own. This year we will be learning about Jupiter’s moons. At the conclusion of the year, we will write a 2.5 page essay on the moons. We need to make sure we show our progress with this essay during class, such as notes we take over information covered or things we learn while researching. The essay should cover the largest moons and for doing this correctly, we will receive 30 points. Professor Niberus will join us while we research and stresses that this needs to be research done on our own. While we can recommend books and read them together, he does not wish to see us helping each other. He wants to see different essays, not all duplicates of the same information.

Professor Niberus asked the class how many moons Jupiter has. Officially, Jupiter has 16 moons. Unofficially, there are over 60. For the essay, as there are so many, we will only focus on the 4 largest moons: Lo, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. All of which were discovered by Galileo Galilei.

In order to research for our essay, we can get permission from Professor Niberus to be out of bed and in the Astronomy Tower.
