Echoes From The Past (Sirius) (R) Empty Echoes From The Past (Sirius) (R)

Post by Guest Wed Jun 11, 2014 5:59 pm

It was late. The moon already hung low on the horizon as it began its journey across the inky night sky. Morgan sighed heavily as she headed to her office to rest. She shift was nearly half over, and already it was proving to be a long one. Thankfully, her fellow healers could handle things for a while so she could rest and catch up on some paperwork from earlier.

Slipping into her office, Morgan, dressed in Ravenclaw blue scrubs, her blonde hair in a pony-tail, set the stack of folders on her desk. Smiling at the picture of her family, she paused. On the air she thought she caught the faint scent of something....someone.....familiar. But, just as fast as it was there, the scent was gone. "Must be later than you thought," she mused to herself, taking a seat and magically heating a cup of tea. Opening the first folder, Morgan began to read over its contents, holding the warm cup in both hands, sipping it slowly.

Sirius had easily entered the hospital and the healers and aurors there stationed did not even catch sight of his dog form coming by. He moved with the shadows, mingling with them with ease, after spending thirteen years incarcerated in the darkness of Azkaban. He entered the office of the head healer, and hid himself away. Once she came in, a smile filled with joy was brought to his lips but quickly faded because his thoughts took over once again.

Stepping from behind the sofa that stood in the office, as he had been sitting on a stool next to it, his cloak mirroring a blanket. Taking a few steps padfoot stopped just some feet away from Morgan, "It is quite late, Miss head healer," Padfoot said in a husky voice, his cloak covering his face and body. "Maybe you should head home? Back to Remus?" he added. His voice had shifted quite a lot it had become gravelly and deep. During his time in Azkaban his voice lacked passion, but now his soul was revitalized because of his desire for vengeance, and even though Azkaban changed him, deep down, that voice would still be familiar to those who loved him. Morgan included...

Picking up on the muffled sound of movement, Morgan paused in her reading to listen. When she heard nothing more, she continued on, believing it was nothing more than a trick of her tired mind, like the scent she thought she smelled. It is quite late, Miss head healer... Snapping her head up, Morgan gasped at the sight of a cloaked and hooded figure before her. Getting to her feet quickly, she grabbed her wand holding it at the ready. As his last comments rang in her ears, a spark of something prickled in the back of her mind. She knew this voice, or part of it. Her brow furrowed as her head tilted to the side, puzzled, as she tried to grasp the memory that was trying so hard to shine through. "Who are you?" she asked slowly, her grey-blue eyes confused, but showing a glimmer of being so close to the answer.

Seeing Morgan quickly retreiving her wand so she could defend herself made Sirius work to keep his snort back. She had grown that was for sure she wasn't the innocent girl he met in his fifth grade, instead she was a grown married woman, a woman that had been hurt in the past and wasn't planning on letting it happen again, "You disappoint me," he walked in a circle hands held behind his back, "Do you no longer recognize me..." he waved his wand that had slid from his sleeve down to his hand and the door was locked along with all windows and the room was suddenly under the silencio charm, "Princess..." he whispered looking back over his shoulder at the woman.

Morgan's grey-blue eyes focused on the man before her as he moved. It had been him she heard, she realised, even if it was only for a moment. His voice, once again, triggered something inside her, something she knew. But what? Looking quickly to the door and her windows, her heart began to race slightly as she heard them not only shut, but lock. No doubt a silencing charm was placed over her office, too. ...recognize me... So, this was someone she knew, but from where? Her eyes grew very wide at the name he called her by. It can't be... Slowly bringing her eyes to the hooded man, she tried to look through the darkness the cloak and hood covered him in to see his face. "Sirius?......." she whispered, softer than a sigh after a very long silent pause, afraid to even dare hope that this could actually be him.

Nodding at her Sirius brought his arms up, his hands extending out of his long sleeves. Grabbing his hood, he pulled it down, his dark eyes brightening slightly as he finally got a good look at his friend, seeing how much she had grown. Morgan was still as beautiful as she was when Sirius left his friends, perhaps even more. He was proud of the fact Remus got her for himself because his friend deserved her, "In the fur," he sang, his voice sounding still as dark as before, but with a hint of happiness on it, considering Morgan was there in front of him, and he was there, out of Azkaban, free...at last...

The nod coupled with the man dropping his hood and confirming her guess of who he was, made Morgan go slack-jawed as she gasped. Dropping her wand, its clatter on the floor the only sound in the room, and bringing her fingers to her lips, her bright eyes looked over her brother. Her eyes saw him, but her mind was almost in doubt that he was really there, in her office, not locked away in some dark, cold cell, never to be seen again. Stepping painfully slowly to him, afraid that any movement she made would send him away, Morgan took all of him in. The years in Azkaban had taken their toll on him. Sirius was roughed and beaten down, but his eyes....his eyes were still nearly the same. Morgan saw the light gimmer in them as her bright eyes met his. Dropping her gaze to the cloak he wore, she carefully reached out to touch him. Biting her bottom lip, her fingers gently touched him, the fabric of his cloak soft under them as she let them drift up his chest to his collarbones. He was real.... Sirius was real, in her office, right in front of her! Bringing her eyes up to him, once more, Morgan smiled, overjoyed, and, after a moment or two, flung her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. "It is you..." she cooed to him, happiness radiating off her like light off a flickering candle, as happy tears filled her eyes.

He tried not to grin when Morgan wrapped her arms around his neck, however Sirius failed miserably as a broad smile was brought to his face. It was the first time he actually smiled in years. Before, he sometimes gave Rabastan or the Avery twins smiles of exhaustion, as if to beg someone to put him out of his misery. He grinned twice since he got out of prison because he felt alive. But now, he was genuinely happy, because he was with his sister again, the love of his brother, the person that most reminded him of Remus. And although he was sure Remus wouldn't want to be seen with him and possibly doubted Sirius even, padfoot couldn't help but still want to go see him, "I think that's obvious, baby sister," he answered, his long still defined arms being flung around her, tightly holding her against his chest. "Are you expecting visits? I can't be seen with you, you'll be in danger, and so will Remus, and your...since when do you have three kids?" he furrowed a brow but returned his attention to Morgan waiting for an answer.

Morgan's heart soared as a light laugh exited her feeling his strong arms wrap around her, holding her like he had so many times before. Sirius was as good as her brother since she didn't have any of her own, and to be reunited with him when there had been no hope of her ever seeing him again made her more than happy. She was possitively overjoyed! Thinking of her husband, she wondered if Sirius had been or was going to go see him. They had fought before over the fate of their brother, but Remus finally believed that Sirius was incapable of doing what he was said to have done. Finally beileved as Morgan had all this time. His quetion brought her back to the moment, as she was reminded that he was on the run. His escape had been all over the Prophet as well as message boards everywhere. "No, no.... I should be left to myself for a while. The others know that I'm, supposedly, resting. They say I work too hard...." she answered him, breathing in his scent that he had picked up on when she first entered her office. When he brought up her children, Morgan pulled away slightly and looked him in the face, her cheeks turning a soft pink. "Since last year..." she said, letting him go and walking to her desk. Picking up the picture of her children, she held it out for him.

As she assured him that no one would come bang at the door, disrupting their meeting, Sirius took a deep breath, happy to once again be able to feel his sister's scent. "Good, no problem then..." he answered cracking his back. Some loud cracks were heard, however Sirius did not seem disturbed, "Back's still getting used to the whole 'running' thing," his fingers wrapped around the tip of the photograph as he looked closely at each of the children. The taller boy was most likely Romulus, whilst the girl was definitely Chandra. The other boy however left Sirius riddled. "Remus must feel lonely," he said before looking up at Morgan, "He's the only non blonde in the house," he grinned cheekily before holding out the photo in his hand, "Who's the one in the middle?" he asked curiously.

Wincing slightly at the loud cracks emanating from Sirius as his back popped, Morgan pushed it fro her mind as he didn't seemed too worried about it. She hated to think of him on the run, but, as an escapee, there wasn't much other choice. Morgan only hoped that he wouldn't need to be 'running' for forever. Smiling softly as he took the picture of her kids, she leaned against her desk. "He has commented on it from time to time that he is the odd ball in the family, but, honestly, I think he likes being the only brunette," Morgan said with a chuckle, remembering when they all finally took notice of the amount of blonde in the house. Looking at the photo, she answered him, taking it gently, "The one in the middle is Ricky. Well, Ricardo. Remus and I adopted him. He....needed to come live with us." Looking fondly at the picture, Morgan remembered the events that lead to that like they were yesterday. "Ricky, was...sired...by the same one that sired Remus," Morgan told him with a heavy sigh.

Looking at Romulus in the picture, Sirius felt a familiar feeling hit him. He was so like his father that he actually reminded Sirius of Remus, even though they had their differences. Chandra on the other hand, reminded him of her mother, with her hair, her features, and her stature too. Morgan had always been the smallest in their group of friends, even Pettigrew had in the past been taller than her. Sirius sometimes wondered what she felt when she was next to Lily and Mira, both taller than her. Alas she was still a beautiful young woman, and that was what Remus cared for. And in a way that was good, considering their kids were a quite sharp looking group, "Has Remus shrunk or is he still taller than me?” Sirius asked with a mocking grin. Padfoot had always been the taller marauder, standing much taller than Remus, slightly taller than James, and compared to Peter, he was a giant. James however to grew just enough to match Sirius, and Remus outgrew them all. "Ricardo? Portuguese name," he mused wondering just why Morgan and Remus adopted another boy. "Oh…so Fenrir stroke again," he growled, clenching his fists. “He will pay, once I can focus solely on him,” Sirius narrowed his eyes but his attention at the moment was pointed at the rat he was chasing only.

Morgan couldn't help but laugh at Sirius' question about her husband and his stature. "Sadly, he is still tall as ever. Romulus takes after him in nearly everything: build, height, strength... He is his father's son," she said lightly with a smile. In truth, Romulus and Chandra were nearly like Remus and herself. Many people commented on just how similar to their parents they were. Remembering back to her school days, Morgan wondered if Chandra would continue to be like her. While she was the smallest in the bunch, her heart made up for her height. Nodding at both the comment about her middle son's name and about Fenir, she set the picture back on her desk, and turned a focused look on him. "Who are you focused on now, Sirius?" she asked. Determination was something that had always been Sirius, and it seemed his time in Azkaban did nothing to alter that. Once his mind was set, that was it...

Sirius laughed slightly, sitting on the desk next to where Morgan had been leaning for a while. "Curse him and his big stature," he answered but then returned to his serious demeanor, his fists clenching,  "The real rat..." he responded and he was sure Morgan didn't understand what he mean, no one would but Remus, but Sirius no longer had the time to get to Remus before going after that rat... "I'm focused on Pettigrew," he uttered the bastard's name, his mouth filled with disgust.

Morgan laughed as Sirius voiced his disappointment at still being shorter than his brother. It had always been something that she found humorous about the two of them. The change that come over him as he mentioned just whom he was after now that he was out was alarming. "Peter?" she said standing tall and walking to the sofa for a more comfortable place to sit. "Sirius, Peter is dead. I don't know what really happened, but he's gone. Someone killed him that night..." Morgan said sitting and patting the spot next to her for him to join if he wished. It would certainly be more comfortable than sitting on her desk.

When Morgan showed doubts about the truth about his statement, Sirius narrowed his eyes and simply lifted himself from the desk. "C'mon, Morgan" he asked her to be reasonable because if she truly believed Sirius wasn't to blame, then someone else was. And she didn't think it was Remus either. "Do yo actually believe Peter died that day? He killed the muggles. He cut his finger off. He was the one who revealed the location of James and Lily. He was the one that was under the Fidelius Charm not me. I went after him to kill him. I thought I did it for twelve years. Then, a Weasley appeared along with Harry on the daily prophet. With a rat on his shoulder. Trust me, Peter is alive. And he's close to Harry. Closer than you all think. I'm stopping him before he can do anything else..." he told her with a deadly serious tone looking at her a spark of his insanity passing by his eyes. Azkaban had worsened him slightly but he knew what he saw, and no one would convince him he was wrong.

Morgan watched as Sirius got up for the desktop and began telling her just how he reasoned that Peter was not only alive, but to blame for everything that had happened. She went to interrupt him to ask just how in Merlin's name he could be alive and what proof he had of this when he answered it for her. The picture of Ron, Harry, and Ron's pet rat. She had seen that picture in the paper, too, and never would have seen Peter there. His tone and the look in his eye told her that this wasn't just a fleeting thought. It might be a crazed one thanks to his time in Azkaban, but there was something more to it than just madness, and Morgan saw it. "Oh Godric, Sirius...." she said as the reality of the situation crashed down on her. Not only was Harry in danger, Remus was now, too. "Sirius, how will you get to him? You might still have time to catch Peter before the term starts, if not.... If not, I don't know that even Padfoot could get you into Hogwarts. Not with security going to be much higher, I can assume, that's to your escape," Morgan reasoned. Even though she said all those things, there was a glint in her eye that told that if anyone could get in at a time like this, Sirius was the one.

Morgan's words reminded Sirius that not everyone had been a Marauder and that not everyone knew the school like the four of them did. Granted, that'd make it only harder to find Pettigrew, but still, Sirius would surely have help on the inside. If he could only speak with his children that was. "Morgan I'll get in. I have my ways. I know the school better than most," he nodded at her, but remained on his feet.

Nodding with a small sigh, Morgan knew that he was right. Sirius was crafty, that was no secret, and now that he had a hard drive to find Peter, nothing was going to stop him from reaching that goal, heightened security or not. "I believe you, Sirius. If anyone can get in to get a job done, it's you," she said with a smile. "And, should you need someone on the inside there.... Remus is planning to get on teaching. He decided it once he saw you'd escaped...." she told him, dropping her eyes, her fingers wringing together. While she was alright with Remus going, she worried, as was her nature, about him and Sirius, both. The last thing Morgan wanted was something to happen to either of them.

Sirius opened his arms, motioning for his sister to hug him. "Thank you Morgan," he answered, and then motioned with his head so she'd look at the door. "I have to go...I'm putting you at risk by being here," he hadn't doubted he would come to see Morgan immediately after escaping but that didn't mean he wouldn't be worried about her being caught helping him - even though all she did was talk - and then would be thrown into Azkaban. She had children who were used to seeing her every day they spent at home and not at Hogwarts, he wasn't going to allow anyone to take that away from them. He wouldn't allow anyone to take Morgan away from her family...

Getting up, without question, at his opened arms, Morgan wrapped her arms around him, curling into his hug as she used to do when they were in school together. A smile touched her lips at his thanks, happy tears of just having him out and as safe as Sirius could be welling in her eyes. "You're welcome, Sirius," she answered him, looking up. At his motion to her door, her smile faded as she looked. Nodding her understanding, Morgan brought her bright eyes back to him, a single tear escaping and running down her cheek. What had she expected? Her brother was on the run, and him simply being here was a risk. As much as she didn't want him to go, she knew he had to. "Please take care, Sirius. If you need anything, anything, let me or Remus know when you find him. Risk or not, you're not alone. Door is always open to you, as it always has been... I've missed you so much..." she told him, managing a sweet smile. Her voice, while showing sadness at him leaving so soon after arriving, also resonated with her uncanny wisdom she had grown to posess over the years. Morgan knew there was no other way, but she was going to be damned if he got out only to be thrown back in. If she could help, she was going to.

Wiping her tear from her face he nuzzled her slightly hugging her tightly against his chest having missed his sister over those twelve years of loneliness. Kissing her forehead he rested his own forehead against hers, closing his eyes shut, "I've missed you too..." he whispered letting her go and taking out his wand. Unlocking the door he took a deep breath and kissed his sister's cheek. Turning back into padfoot and looking up at her, he licked his snout. His eyes lingered on Morgan for a moment before he nodded his furred head, and slowly made his way to the door.

While her eyes were glistening with tears, Morgan was very happy. Happy to get just these few moments with her brother that she never believed she would actually get to have. Closing her eyes as he kissed her forehead and rested his against hers, she smiled at his words. It had been far too long.... The sound of her door unlocking made her bright eyes open, and when she looked to the door he tipped his head to, she knew he needed to go. Giving a small nod of understanding, Morgan drew a slow deep breath as she watched her brother shift into the great dog of Padfoot. "Be safe, Padfoot..." she whispered to him, knowing full well that his enhanced hearing would hear her. Giving him a wink, Morgan was sure that the last thing he'd see from her was her bright smile. At least.... Until the next time, which is was sure was going to happen....
