Just the Two of Us (Arthur)

Molly say pouring over the work she had piled up from the week she took off from school following Percy's arrival. She was so thankful for Arthur's brother! He was a saint to take not just the twins, but now Percy, too. A smile touched Molly's lips as she thought of her sons. What more could she ask for? All three boys healthy and strong... A good man by her side who was also good father to them... Molly stuck the snowy owl quill behind her ear and propped her head in her hand, thinking about things other than her schoolwork...

Arthur slowly rose from his bed, yawning with pleasure. He was pleased to know Molly was now once again 'normal', and the pain she was feeling was gone. Percy was safe and sound with his brothers and his uncle, so Arthur needed not to worry about him. After coming all the way down to the hall, he pushed the doors open, eyeing the gryffindor table. He saluted Peter, James and Sirius, before moving onto Molly. He put his head on her shoulder, smirking, "Hey hey hey..." he sang out, taking a seat next to her.

Molly grinned and tipped her head to lean against Arthur's when he rested it on her shoulder. "Hey, you," she said as he took a seat next to her. She tucked her hair behind her ear and beamed at him. "How you holding up, daddy?" Molly teased.

"Why are you asking me that..." Arthur questioned his love with a chuckle. He was holding up normally, Molly could be the one experiencing differences. Although Arthur did have to adjust back to his old schedule. "I'm normal..." he winked at Molly, before taking her hand. "How're you?"

Molly chuckled and shrugged. "Normal, I guess," she said looking away, "Well, as normal as I can be." Molly removed her quill from behind her ear and closed her books. Running her hand through her red hair, Molly sighed, "I'm happy that the holiday is almost here." She turned her bright eyes to Arthur and smiled. "Guess.... I miss the boys...." she said giving his hand a squeeze.

Arthur brought Molly's hand up to his lips, kissing it softly, before glancing up at her. "We'll see the three of them when we go to visit my brother. Christmas will be fun with them." he chuckled, wondering how Bill and Charlie were feeling about their younger sibling. When they started to grow up, Arthur would love being able to raise them and not let his brother get all the work.

"Yeah.... yeah, you're right, Arthur," Molly said leaning against his shoulder. She sighed softly thinking of all of them together over Christmas. "So, where are we starting the holiday this year? Your place or mine?" she asked. "Any fun plans?" she added.

Athur passed a hand by Molly's red hair, smiling at her question. "I was wondering if you wanna spend the entire christmas at my brother's house. I know you might wanna see your parents, but I'm sure they'll visit us. Since I have...a fun plan for these holidays." Arthur smirked mischievously.

Molly sat up and looked at Arthur quizzically, a playful smile touching her features. "The entire holiday?" she asked, echoing his question. The idea seemed wonderful to her. True her parents would like her to come home, but being as their sons were with Arthur's brother, and her parents seemed taken with Arthur, she was sure they wouldn't mind. "That sounds like a great idea, love. I'd like that very much," Molly said smiling brighter. "So...... What are you planning?" she asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously at him.

Molly watched as Arthur stood and then spoke.... Had she heard him right? She turned around, swinging her legs around so they were on the opposite side of the bend she was sitting on. When he took a knee, she knew that she had heard him right. With a gasp when she saw the ring, her hands flew to her mouth. Molly suddenly became very aware of all the eyes on the two of them. Slowly lowering her hands, she said, "Oh, Arthur. Of course I will!" Molly stood, taking his hands in hers, gracefully slipping her finger through the ring he held out for her. "Of course, I will," she repeated a bright happy smile spreading across her face.

Arthur gulped, several times, as he thought of how many eyes were glued to him and Molly. The entire hall, just gazing at the two of them, and awaiting for Molly's response. As she answered, he let out a small breath of relief, only to smile brightly afterwards, as the hall erupted into cheers, much to his surprise. The Slytherins of course remained silent, but the other houses jumped around with happiness, specially the Gryffindors, "I love you!" Arthur said once more, coming up from his knee, and hugging Molly close.

"I love you more," Molly answered Arthur as she folded into his warm and welcome hug. Her eyes brimmed with happy tears as she listened to the roar of applause that met her answer. Molly was stunned! Sure they had briefly talked about, well, hinted at, the idea of getting married. She had even hoped for it! But, nothing prepares you for when it really happens. Molly nuzzled her now fiance and gently kissed his cheek.
