Lesson 2 - Origins of the Ministry

Please post your entrances to the classroom. In a few days' time, I shall begin the lesson.

The classroom is torch-lit and shows various hints of a Slytherin professor.

Regulus entered the classroom, ready for Professor Eaton to lead one more of his...different lessons. Regulus wasn't gonna lie, the lessons weren't half bad. Of course Reg wanted a more advanced level, but for now, Professor Eaton's classes would be enough. He toke his seat, this time at the front, taping the desk with his fingers as he awaited the arrival of the other students. He was already saving Vixen a spot.

Morgan walked into Professor Eaton's classroom and took her usual seat. She was really looking forward to this lesson, especially since they didn't need to take notes or anything. Morgan found she had retained much more of the last lesson thanks to that. No shifting focus between lecture and notes. She could simply focus on what Professor Eaton was saying. Surely, this would be beneficial to her as she prepared for her O.W.L.s.

----

Vixen sauntered into the History of Magic classroom, in a way, looking forward to the day's lecture. As she glanced at those who had arrived, she spotted Regulus at the front, with a seat open next to him. Silently, she drifted over to him and, upon reaching him, smiled. "This seat taken," she asked with a wink.

Avalon walked into the classroom and picked out a desk. The were only three other students in the room, but she didn't know any of them. The room was dimly lit, so when Avalon went through her bag to take out her things, it was a bit harder to see. She heard a crack and took her hand out of her bag to find that she had broken her fountain pen, and she had spilled ink all over her bag. "Damnit," she whispered to herself. She walked over and threw away the pen, ink dripping from her hands.

Kiara arrived in class less warily then she had the previous time and took a seat near the front as well. History of magic seem to be a interesting subject when taught this way. It made her think rather than just write. It was refreshing in a way.

She looked around for either Cam or Aria to join the class.

Azaria skipped into the History of Magic classroom, then she spotted Kiara and sat down next to her. "Hey," she said to her. She was in an oddly good mood that day, but not for any particular reason. She smiled, happy to be in a classroom. History of Magic wasn't her favorite subject, but it wasn't her least favorite either.

Regulus looked up at the woman who talked to him, excitedly, recognizing her voice, but her scent most of all. He pulled the chair next to him back, winking at Vixen, "It is now," he answered licking his lips, "Sit..."

Luna entered the class, a look of anger and annoyance in her electric blue eyes. She shuffled to the back, her whole body language showed that no one should talk to her. She settled herself at the very back, the darkest part of the classroom. She pulled out her crow feather quill and tapped her foot against the floor softly so no one would get annoyed and talk to her otherwise she'd snap. She pulled out some parchment, waiting to make notes.

Vixen didn't need to be told twice. She smiled coyly and sat in the next next to him. As she sat, she purposefully brushed her hand against him as she scooted the chair in. "Thanks for saving me a place, Reg," she purred to him, her dark eyes drifting to him, sparkling in the low light.

Jocelyn walked into the classroom, she regretted that she wasn't as active in the first lesson and she decided to make it up asking the teacher what she could do to make it up to him after the lesson was finished. Jocelyn spotted Avalon throwing her pen away, she walked up to Avalon. "Hey do you mind that i sit next to you? I have another pen for you if you like.." She asked her and then looked around the room, she spotted Luna, she waved little and turned her attention back to Avalon, waiting for her to answer.

Avalon spotted Jocelyn as she walkied into the classroom. She asked if she could sit with her, and Avalon nodded. "That'd be great" she said, finally getting most of the ink off of her hands. She walked back over to her seat, and gestures for Jocelyn to sit in the one next to her.

Jocelyn nodded and walked to her seat and sits down, giving Avalon one of her quills she and Hades had bought for the new school semester. "You can have it, i will steal quills by my brother if i don't have them again. How are you today?" Jocelyn asked while she grabbed her books and settled them down. "I was wondering if you would like it to train spells and learn more about spells together when we have a free afternoon today or tomorrow?" Jocelyn asked Avalon. She wanted to show Avalon what she had learned when she was alone and practicing with fire. She was pretty proud of herself and would write Dragon a letter to tell her how good practicing was going.

Luna spotted Jocelyn walk in and a small smile emerged on her face, softening her features. She bowed her head as she waved and watched as she spoke to another slytherin. She began to do some drawings of her loved ones faces, calming her as she drew Skyla and Legion together. She hummed a small tune and tapped her foot to the rhythm.

Avalon took the quill from Jocelyn. "Thanks," she said with a giggle. "I'm not sure what happened to my pen." Jocelyn then offered to train with her, and Avalon smiled. She had been looking for an opportunity to learn some higher level magic, and this seemed like the best chance she was going to get. "That'd be great. Where do you want to meet?" she asked.

Andrew walked into the classroom holding a clipboard and a quill. He smiled when he saw all the students already there. He stopped briefly when he saw ink on the floor and then walked around it. "'Morning," he said loudly to wake them up. The disadvantage of this class was that it is in the morning. Trust me Andrew didn't like it either. He set his things down on his desk and noticed there were some new students that weren't here last time. "If you attended lesson one you received an Outstanding for that." And maybe today I'll assign a real homework assignment. Okay.. "Today class we are going to take a look at the Ministry of Magic and stuff. To start with, why was it created? Anyone?"

THIS IS MY FIRST HISTORY OF MAGIC LESSON

Alexis walked into to the classroom and sat in an empty desk, glad to see that the professor yet to arrive. Taking out a few items from her bag, she chewed on her lip and waited. When the teacher entered the room, she gave her full attention. She knew if she didn't she wouldn't be able to keep up.

Looking as another student answered the question, she recognised Morgan. Smiling slightly, she added, "The Ministry and any of its predecessors were created to try and keep order in our world. Much like a muggle government, but how would a muggle government be able to control us? Especially since most don't know we exist."

Kiara smiled silently at Azaria and mouthed at 'hello' as the professor walked in she thought about the question as Morgan answered it and as Greengrass added to it. she wasn't exactly sure what the muggle government had to do with the specific question but she shrugged slightly and looked to the Professor again since there was nothing more to add.

Jocelyn thought for a second and turned then to Avalon. " It seems like it had been crushed by your books or something else. We could meet at the Transfiguration Courtyard maybe?" She said. Jocelyn saw the teacher coming in and immediately started with the topic of the lesson. Ministry of magic, what a dull subject. Jocelyn has been to the Ministry of Magic several times, it was a beautiful building and the fun thing that made it more exciting it was that it has lots of levels with every level their own secrets, that is what she heard of her adoptive father as he was there for her uncle, the minister.

"Ministry of Magic, has many levels and the most mysterious room in the ministry is the department of mysteries." Jocelyn said to Avalon, playing with her quill obviously already bored.

Andrew nodded at each response, even the girl in the back who seemed to be bored already. Andrew was a very carefree and lenient guy but stuff like that ticked him off. Generally he spoke: "If you're going to be bored, please get the hell out now or give me a chance." Andrew said bluntly. He gave it a few seconds for some reactions and then continued. "Yes. Okay now the real fun that there can be in the Ministry is the Department of Mysteries. Last week we talked about basilisks and the Chamber of Secrets. Doesn't it seem likely that the Department of Mysteries have something similar?" Andrew got up and wrote names on the chalkboard:

Death Chamber
Hall of Prophecy
Ever-locked Chamber
Space Chamber
Time Room

"These are the known rooms in that level." You're bored huh? Let's keep y'all busy. And you know who to blame. "Take out a piece of paper and I want you to list what you think might be in each of those rooms. When you're done turn it in to me and wait."

Jocelyn rolled her eyes at the professor's comment and she starts at her short essay about the five rooms.

Death chamber.
In the Death Chamber can you find a old stone arch who seperates the living and the death. People have said that people who have seen death can hear voices from the death at the other side of the stone arch.

Hall of Prophecy.
The hall of Prophecy is used as a storage for the prphecies who are made during the years. The magical orbs are standing on shelves and are magically protected.

Ever-locked Chamber.
The Ever-locked Chamber is a nickname for the love room, it got the name Ever-locked Chamber because it contains a strong force ever used in the universe, and that is Love. You cannot open the door with the simple Alohomora spell. people said that there is a fontain of Amortentia in the Love room.

Space Chamber.
The space Chamber is a chamber where planets are floating around and it is also used for the study of space.

Time room.
In the time room there are all kinds of time related things in the room and it also helds the time turners. In the time room there is the creation of magically manipulating time through time turners.

Jocelyn looked at her essay and rereads her essay before she nods and walks up to the professor and gave him the essay she made with a smirk. "There you go professor."

History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS] Empty Re: History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS]

Post by Guest Sat Oct 05, 2013 9:16 pm

Azaria sat quietly as she did in most classes. She had gained a lot of courage over the past year, but it still wasn't enough to talk in class. She scribbled notes down as the professor spoke, and pulled out another piece of parchment as he gave them an assignment. She hadn't studied a lot about the ministry, at least not the levels and rooms, and for the first time probably ever she didn't know many of the answers. She did know the purpose of the Department of Mysteries, so she hoped she could at least get a few of the answers right. She began writing:

Death Chamber- This room contains large stone tiers leading down to a pit in the center. There, you will find a large arch that separates two worlds; living and dead. This arch is referred to as the Veil.

Hall of Prophecies- This room contains many prophecies that have been foretold. Some recent, some eons old, They are lined on shelves in a never ending series of hallways.

Ever-locked Chamber- In this chamber lies many secrets, few of which are known. It is difficult to unlock this chamber, and there is said to be a large fountain of Amortentia inside.

Space Chamber- This room could be devoted to learning how magic works on other planets. There might be a magical model of the galaxy inside.

Time Room- This room, as the name implies, was made for the study of time. It is filled with clocks and time-turners.

Azaria finished writing and hoped she had at least guessed right. She walked to the front of the room and handed the teachers her paper.

History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS] Empty Re: History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS]

Post by Guest Sun Oct 06, 2013 10:37 am

Regulus sighed loudly, rubbing his temples before casting a glare at everyone in the class other than Vixen. What I think might be in the rooms? he asked himself, taking out his quill and a piece of parchment. I know what's in the rooms, yet , I'm gonna have to act like a four year old and describe my imagination...Salazar's sake... he growled in his thoughts before beginning to write.

Well, let us see what I can write...

I believe that, since all these rooms are said to be so mysterious, they definitely have something fascinating about them. So, I'm mostly gonna say what comes to my mind once I read the name of each room...

The Death Chamber - Quite obviously, a room that has to do with death. Perhaps it has some sort of connection with the world that lies beyond our own. Perhaps, you'd be able to advance to the other world, if you entered that room....

Hall of Prophecy - Even more obvious than the death chamber. I'm sure this room holds the prophecys made by seers like our divinations professor.

Ever-locked Chamber - Perhaps the room with the most ambiguous name. From what I can understand, this room holds something inside it, that is dangerous or to not be used by the wrong people. Reason why, it is 'always locked'...

Space Chamber - Definitely about space. Something that not even us, wizards and witches, can reach and control. Perhaps its a room where Astronomers get together and study space. Overall, a bigger version of our Astronomy class.

Time Room - A room about time itself. Another thing the wizard kind cannot control. I think it possibly has magical artifacts connected to time, like time turners or other things alike.

After finishing writing the essay, Regulus growled loudly. Now that had been boring indeed. Reg got up, and walked to Eaton's desk, letting the parchment fall softly on it. "Have a nice read...professor..." he said, before walking back to his seat. Feel like a retarded twelve year boy after writing such idiotic essay... he thought, before sitting back in his chair.

History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS] Empty Re: History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS]

Post by Guest Sun Oct 06, 2013 8:55 pm

Morgan sighed as she took out a piece of parchment as well as her quill and ink. She had been looking forward to a lecture like last class, not another essay. Morgan headed her parchment and set to work...

The Death Chamber: This chamber deals directly with death. It is rumored to hold an arch of stone that is like a doorway between the world of the living and the world of the dead. In order to separate the two worlds, a black curtain hangs in the archway.

Hall of Prophecy: This chamber houses that many prophesies made throughout magical times. They can only be retrieved by the one the prophecy is about thanks to the magical protection used.

Ever-Locked Chamber: This chamber remains locked at all times as it is likely one that holds the studies of the most powerful emotion known to man: love. It is also rumored to contain a large fountain of Amortentia, which is a very powerful love potion that smells different to each person based on what attracts them.

Space Chamber: Just as the name suggests, this chamber contains the studies of wizards and witches on space and the limits of magic on it. It is likely to hold many floating planets as they pertain to space.

Time Room: This room is said to be filled with all kinds of different time keeping items. The room is also filled with sparkling light that comes from a a jar. Anything in the room will age backwards and then be reborn and age, again.

Morgan looked over her quickly written paper and sighed. Getting up, she dropped it off on Professor Eaton's desk and returned to her seat, hoping that they would have a much more exciting lecture next instead of more papers to write.

History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS] Empty Re: History of Magic L2 - Origins of the Ministry [ALL YEARS]

Post by Vixen Lestrange Sun Oct 06, 2013 9:35 pm

Vixen let her head fall back as she rolled her eyes at hearing about the paper they needed to write. Really?!?!?! she thought to herself. With a huff she slapped a piece of parchment on the table and readied her raven quill and ink. She plopped her head on her propped up hand and set to writing...

The Death Chamber: Just as the name suggests, the Death Chamber deals with the studies of death. After walking down into a pit-like area, one can see a stone archway with a torn, black curtain hanging in it. Rumor has it, the archway is a doorway between the world of life and the world of death.

Hall of Prophesies: This chamber houses the myriad prophesies made by different seers about people and events in the wizarding world. The only ones who are able to pick up the different prophesies, housed in their own glass orbs, are the ones the prophesies are about.

Ever-Locked Chamber: Ever-locked, in this case, does not refer to what is inside the chamber, but more to the door to the chamber. This door is always locked due to the nature of what is housed inside it. Studies on love are conducted inside it. Love, with is the strongest 'magic' in our world. In the center of the chamber is a fountain filled with the most powerful love potion: Amortentia.

Space Chamber: This chamber contains many floating planets for studies on space since it is one of two things that magic has its limits with.

Time Room: As there is a room for the study of magic on space, so there is also a room for study on time, the other thing that magic has its limits with. This room is said to be filled with bright sparkling light from a glass jar and an assortment of different clock-like items and time-turners. It is rumored that anything that enters it will age backwards, and, once it reaches before existence, will be re-born to age through life over and over.

Vixen slapped her quill down and pushed back in her chair, frustratingly. She walked up to Professor Eaton's desk and simply let her paper float onto the top of the stack of others. "There you go, Professor..." she said lightly before turning on her heel and returning to her seat. She sat down and crossed her arms across her chest and her legs, glowering. What a way to start the day....
