Moments Happen (Alice)

Frank entered the common room of Gryffindor tower and sighed glad classes were done for the week and so much homework already and he had the Auror entrance exam to study for, his mother was really pushing it. with worry over the events that happened at the ministry.

He dropped his bag on the side of a chair and plopped into it, he just wanted to sit for just a moment. However he soon drifted into a restless sleep in the comfy arm chair.

Alice jumped the lat few steps to the floor, her shoes making a faint clacking sound as they connected with the stone. She was on her way to Slughorn's office. She had to brush up on potions if she wanted to pass her N.E.W.T.S. later in the year and she was eager to do so. What with dark times looming ever closer, the Ministry could use the extra Aurors. Whether that meant veterans or a fresh crop just out of school.

Her last thought, left her a bit sad. It was her final year at Hogwarts and if one thing was true, Hogwarts was a second - even to some a first - home to its students. Alice ran her hand down the stone walls of Gryffindor tower, she would miss this place. On her way out the common room she passed a familiar sleeping figure and her mood instantly shifted into something more lighter. She retraced her steps to his chair and just take a minute to gaze at him.

He was always handsome in her eyes, but now as she watched him in one of his most vulnerable states, she couldn't stop a soft smile from gracing her lips as she thought of how cute he looked. Bending over slightly to get closer, one hand on the armrest of his chair to steady herself, she reached one hand up to brush away the rogue hairs that fell across his face. Her hand lingered on his cheek and she snatched her hand away as soon as she realised; a slight heat rising to her face. Her eyes freely roamed his face once again as her blush began to subsided, and she contemplated waking him up. She would have left him be, he must have been exhausted to fall asleep in the common room (although it wasn't so hard considering how comfortable the sofas tended to be), but she thought he'd be better off sleeping in his own bed.

"Frank," she called softly. "Frank wake up." She hadn't moved from her bent position slightly looming over him. She lightly tapped her leg against his and poked him once in the forehead, hoping the physical contact would help to wake him. "I know these chairs can be rather comfy, but we have beds for a reason," she grinned, poking him once again.

Frank had been having a strange dream, he was fighting, fighting for his life really against vicious dark figures. People were dead around him, others were suffering and for some reason he felt he might be next. Then he head is name being called, he turned his head and saw Alice, fighting along side him and for just a moment the fighting slowed down to a crawl as he saw her face.

"Alice?" he simply said glad she was here at his side.. then he heard her shout his name, this time more urgently, he turned and saw a flash of a spell heading right for him and he knew he was dead...

Frank awoke with at start and a deep gasp of air, taking him a moment to remember he was still in school and in front of him was Alice.. in all her wonderful beautiful glory "Alice? Merlin sorry.. I ah, I did I disturb you?" he asked in a rather groggy voice.. Merlin what a dream that had been. He looked up at Alice again and quickly got his breath back. "Had a strange dream. " he said sheepishly as his fingers went through his brown hair and he sighed trying to shake the feeling off.

Alice reared back slightly to give Frank some space as he returned to the waking world. "I should be asking you that," it was meant to come out jokingly but it fell flat and a small frown adorned her face. She knew that he too was studying to become an Auror, perhaps it was stressing him out; or the recent events might have plagued his mind. Whatever it was must have hit him hard. She gently placed a hand on his shoulder. "Are you alright? Do you want to talk about it? Of course you don't have to," she added quickly. Alice didn't mind if he didn't want to share. She would just sit by him until he felt better if that's all he wanted.

Frank sighs feeling rather silly, here he was being bothered by a stupid dream.. and disturbing Alice his mother would be abolished at him, having a nightmare when he was 17 years old. "No Alice it is alright... Just a dream is all, with all that has gone on this year with tensions and studying to be an Auror.. Really nothing" he said trying to convince her he was fine.

He didn't make any effort to move her hand from his shoulder though, it felt so natural there he hardly felt it an intrusion. he returned a pat to her arm. "Thanks for waking me though, it may have been just a dream.. but it was not enjoyable" He said with a slight frown still seeing the flash of spell light that caught him right at the end.
